"If you’re n a block and he’s renting too, have a chance of getting him evicted for breach of contract / unsociable behaviour. May take time but I managed to get my neighbour evicted. " It's been 8 months since I moved in. i reported it in march. All I can feel and hear is his wank ass music

"I feel your pain In my old flat I had the neighbours from hell living above me. A women with 4 young kids, laminated flooring running and jumping about till about 3am every morning. Music constantly, parties and she didn't give a fuck. I talked to her, left notes through the door, used to bang back. Nothing worked. I had to sleep with ear plugs in every night, which after a while hurt your ears as they make the insides really sore and sensitive. In the end I spoke to my landlord and told them of the problem as I knew they had loads of properties and asked if they had any available to move into. Eventually one became free and I moved here a year and a half ago. It's absolute bliss, don't hear a peak from any neighbours. 5 years I put up with that fucking bitch for. Hate is a strong word for me, but I fucking hate that women for what she put me through." Thank you I will ask my landlord if there are other properties

Currently he has his music on louder than I can hear my TV. Should I cancel my tenancy and live in the car or suffer until I can save" Speak to your local authority / or police

"If I was to get him to be quiet by any means, I will be constantly waiting for the music to start again. I will never relax in this apartment and honestly this city is the worst. If rather just live in the car for a bit to save some money for a deposit and get somewhere viable" Buy a camper. Live peacefully

"Have you tried talking to him? " He's clearly on something with the way he screams. Also If lost the 'tude by time I got there. It's a long ass corridor then wait for lift or take stairs then take the long ass corridor back. Also someone who has music louder than a nightclub from 6pm till 2pm the following afternoon and continuing that for days or nights through the week while people have to work is not a reasonable person

"Speak to your landlord as they can almost certainly help. You can also file a complaint through the gov uk noise nuisance portal - your local council has a statutory requirement to act and they will usually do so quickly if the nuisance is affecting you. " Spoken to landlord about 4 times but I keep thinking well that's what they're into, who am I to stop them enjoying life

"When theyre next having a session invite them round and show them how ridiculous it is. Tell them how much it is affecting your life and politely ask them to turn it down a few notches. When someone is shown what a twat theyre being, they sometimes stop being a twat" I always struggle getting words and can't do confrontation. I'll talk to them and immediately back down just because I believe in fairness even though I tend to push others to doing better than me

I get so angry when there is noise but as soon as they stop I feel bad for getting angry. I've sent an email asking for another apartment and if not then I'll just cancel the tenancy due to noise which I've complained about. Also I can never enjoy life in Bradford lol. "Have you tried talking to him? He's clearly on something with the way he screams. " You can't reason with people who are like that, they won't give a fuck. You can contact environmental health from your local council who will install monitoring equipment and push for enforcement action, but it takes ages to sort. If he's in a council property they can work towards an eviction order, but again it takes time. If he's a private tenant it's more complicated. Speak to your landlord, see if he has any properties available. Also, landlords are often in contact with other landlords through various chat and Facebook groups etc, ask if he knows any with available properties.

"Sadly these sort of people are everywhere these days, holidays, planes, pubs, cafes and restaurants and all of sorts of other places as well as homes of course. With this weather many think too is ok to behave like they are in Magaluf in the garden, from unrully kids to the parents and their friends making other people's life a misery and stopping them from enjoying life in their own homes. Just disgraceful. We put up with it too much and have almost accepted this as normal behaviour. It isn't of course. Don't put up with it but dont get angry either . Stay cool and follow the advice about keeping diary evidence, involving authorities etc that you have already been given. Good luck Thanks but it's been constant since I moved in in February with the odd night with no music. I need better recording equipment as the phone doesn't pick up noise. "Most L.A.’s have an ASB unit that is either part of the Housing department or environmental health department. Despite what others tell you they take nosie nuance very seriously. However, they do need to gather evidence before action can begin. If the L.A. is the landlord then they can take immediate action. With private landlords it can be a bit of more difficult. Though often the council will initially issue a notice or a letter that often has the desired effect. Though some tenants do ignore this. The important thing is keep a diary and recordings. Without evidence it can be just a case of your word against there’s. If it’s at unreasonable hours you can call out environmental health and they will gather evidence and confront the tenant so you don’t have too. That way it can be anonymous to who has reported them…" Yeah I'd need a proper sound recorder to get usable evidence and it's too much work over too long a time for me to bother. I do not want to start in this flat as it is so It's be putting in a lot of effort to more than likely leave before anything would happen

Just turn the TV off when you’re recording. The recording on your phone will also have a date and time stamp. This will act as the diary. Just need to note how long it goes on for. You will probably get ASB unit to turn up if you call them when it starts especially if it normally goes in for an hour or more….

"I am so sorry OP, it's horrific and clearly affecting your mental and physical wellbeing. No one should have to suffer that level of noise disturbance. . I have suffered the same myself in the past, and at the time I was renting from a housing association. I wrote them a letter about how my quality of life was being impacted, and they jumped in to action right away. . I maintained a diary of "events" over 3-4 months. Date, time, duration, noise description, impact on me. After that was submitted to them, they sent someone round to witness the event. She'd been in the flat for 5 mins when the noise kicked off. She said to me "I see what you mean". . The neighbour was evicted a month later due to a) noise nuisance and b) they were sub-letting their flat to a family member. . They didn't have a leg to stand on and got booted out. . I do feel your landlord has a duty of care, but I wonder if they are a bit too comfortable with the rent being paid whilst you remain there ? That might change if they realise the gravity of the situation, especially if they cannot let it out to another tenant. . Earplugs are one suggestion someone said earlier. But then how would you hear a fire alarm in your flat ? You could should for an environmental risk here as well if people tell you to wear ear plugs. I hope things resolve for you. " It's possible their landlord isn't the same as mine. It's also possible they own their flat. East plugs will isolate the bass and make it more prominent

"Download the Noise App See if your landlord can link to it to hear the recordings Make sure you include the word Formal in your complaint to the landlord Look at the local council website Look at the ombudsman rules so your landlord has to follow them I am severe agoraphobic because of my neighbours with zero help but I'm going through the ombudsman route I've taken videos, I have to have the volume on full just to hear my TV. I just want out of here. I will never be happy here. I kind of don't want to get comfortable here but I just want to sleep. My best option is live in car to be able to save" If you have had several beers and you are over the limit to drive, then sleeping in your car could land you in a lot of trouble IF you have your car keys on you whilst you sleep in the vehicle and you get a knock from the fuzz. You have to be able to prove that you cannot drive the car. Thus, the car keys need to be in the flat. Whilst not 100% proof to a copper that you could just go and get them, it might strengthen your case that they are not in your possession in the vehicle. If a friend nearby could hold on them that would be better. Though I would hope you could borrow their sofa or guest bed for the night, in such a situation. I am not a lawyer, but having your car keys on you whilst sleeping in the car and being intoxicated could work against you.

I mean end my tenancy and just live in the car instead of this flat. I don't have friends who could offer a couch. Once I get back from my few days in Bristol, more than likely having good sleep for a change, I'll have a better idea on what to do

I agree, a few days away, get some sleep and see how you feel after. I hope things move in a more positive direction for you.
