What is your favourite place in the UK to visit?

For me, it's Edinburgh, the Highlands, Berwick, Lake District and Cornwall.

I went to a hunting lodge in the Highlands in November a couple of years ago, very sunny but sub zero every day.

Astonishing scenery, the colours on the mountains, blue skies reflected in huge lochs - I've never seen anything that spectacular. Go there.

Glencoe has my heart. Such a beautiful place. The Lake District in general but, Buttermere, Grasmere and Wasdale especially. Only came back from there recently. The Peak District too, as well as Cheddar Gorge.

I really want to do a trip to Northumberland and that’s what I’m planning to do next. Just trying to figure out places to go, where to stay etc. Happy to take on some ideas. The only downside is, it takes almost six hours from London to get there.

But, worth it!

SE Suffolk, along the coast is gorgeous. So is the Stour valley along the Essex/Suffolk border. I particularly like that it's not very touristy either. Gainsborough and Constable country.

Personally, I like to visit some of our more interesting small cities for getaways; Chester, York, Bath etc.

West Wales (Saundersfoot etc), Cornwall (Mevagissey etc).

I did like York as well, all the little Streets was very olde worlde and I like that.

I have never visited The Highlands, Brighton, Devon, but I reckon I’d love them too. I’ll get there one day.

Also Northumberland coast, theres a reason why I farm up here, its stunning! Summer days when its quiet, theres a hill i can sit on and just look out for miles and theres not a person around to disturb me.

I'm more of a city person and always recommend York, London has it's charms as does Lincoln. Hull is a trip down memory lane.

For countryside and coast I'd say Northumbria and North Norfolk. Wells next the Sea being the most amazing place to holiday with dogs.

I have a real soft spot for NE Scotland, Highlands, Edinburgh... Scotland in general. York is lovely, as are the Cotswolds. Northumberland especially closer to the Scottish border is soul nourishing. And Herts is fantastic for various reasons.

The real Highlands for me start at a line connecting Ullapool and Inverness. The NW and Caithness are unbelievable landscapes unlike anywhere else in the British Isles, so vast and empty (except for the clogged circuit of the NC500).

That said I'm currently in mid Wales and enjoying it a lot, especially the virtually empty roads. The little towns have a lot of charm too.
