So long story short I’m heading back into the office a couple of times a week. It’s all ‘smart casual’ now and I’ve decided to get a few quality polo shirts. I’m looking at the L 12.12 slim fit Lacoste.

Which ones do you get ? Who do you think makes the best ones? Ladies which ones do you particularly like on a man ?

I will confess I do like a brand/logo and from what I read the consensus seems to be Lacoste, Fred Perry and Ralph Lauren seem to generally appear top do the tree.

Had Lacoste, found them poor fit and didn't last well. I like Boss slim fit with the subtle label, Ralph lauren, Hilfiger and my favourite but might be too casual is All Saints.

Wow, haven't heard that in at least two decades

It doesn't matter how big or flash a brand uis- Fred Perry owns the polo shirt, always has. Lacoastte may be a bigger brand, but the classic Fred Perry polo can't be beaten, its a style icon.

I'm a recent convert to Lacoste. With you on that one. Lacoste seem well made, don't shrink too much, hold their shape... Only annoying thing is the collars. Hilfiger are a close second.

Thumbs down to joules and timberland.. Quality isn't what it should be.

I had a lacoste that lasted me years. Kept its colour. Thicker than normal material. Never seen one like it again. Vivid red white and blue. Barbour fit me well these days

Depends where you get the lacoste stuff. Nowhere in Belfast doing proper stuff any more. Last I heard there was 3 different quality ones.

There is merit in what you say. I don't disagree with you. Despite the one and only Sunspel™ that I possess it gets worn once a year. It pairs with virtually nothing and coordinates with nothing still.

Pretty green just ripped off every other clothing label from the 60s onwards. Nothing they released was original at all and quality isn't great.

You do know that the majority of mass market clothing comes from a handful of manufacturers. Pretty much all polo shirts will come from the same place. All that is different is the logo... just saying...

Personally I can't stand anything with a logo, however, I do like the Trespass ones as they are manufactured with an insect repellent impregnated into them.

It actually works too and doesn't was out very easily.

In the old days though, I used to like Fred Perry.
