"I've been able to turn my hand to most things. I was a runner as a kid everything from 400m and above. Good at football, rugby, cricket, hockey... But football was what I enjoyed. I solved things that's what I've always done best. Whether that was unlocking a defence on the football pitch or it was something mathematical like Engineering. I tend to find a way.  Can plumb, wire, plaster, lay bricks etc and all pretty much self taught.
Professionally I have spent years as a fitter and still spend a chunk of my working life on the tools. It sounds bigheaded but I've been around long enough to be confident saying I'm a very good fitter in a world where mechanical skills are rapidly becoming a dying art.
Not a bad runner, I've never been able to run particularly fast (as in club level) but once the distance goes over 100+ miles I've had some pretty successful races with a couple of podium finishes.

"I'm good with my hands. Rebuilt my mum's shed when I was 15 because the floor and roof were rotten. The roof has been replaced since when the felt went but the floor I put in is still there over 30 years later. Fitted a new kitchen for my mum when I was 17. She paid someone to fit the worktops as I didn't have the tools or skills to do that. In a few weeks I'll be attempting worktops for the first time with our kitchen - how had can it be? Can plumb, wire, plaster, lay bricks etc and all pretty much self taught.
