Afternoon fellow fabbers hope you’re all well.

When it comes to ‘venting’ frustrations / thoughts/ outbursts….

Where do you tend to direct it?

Do you speak with friends?

Do you put it out in the social media world / fab ?

Are you a go the gym and vent it out physically?

Always curious

Hmm.

Sometimes sex.

Sometimes the emotional support junkie.

Sometimes I just save it for therapy.

Near Keith

Generally I'll talk things out with my wife. I have a few friends I can vent to if needed as well. (And they can do the same with me)

For the most part, it stays bouncing round my head until it’s forgotten about.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I'll generally vent through exercise or roll things over in my head until things are better.

I don't like to burden others with my problems if I can help it. Very much the old school stoic type.

I try to get it 'onto paper', which in reality is a note in my phone

Then let it sit a couple of days and come back when I'm less inflamed and then logically work through the issue and figure out what i need to do to be happy

I write out what i want to do and then calmly execute, when i am ready, on my timetable. Once my head is happy, delivery is easy.

People have been testing my patience this week.

I have an incredibly strict social media policy at work, so mostly I vent with my family, mostly my husband…. it is so hard because I used to love having a good moan on social media and my friends/followers used to enjoy it and get a good laugh but you never know who’s watching. So I have to keep schtum!

I used to vent with my FWB, and he used to do as well. That is how we survived the lockdown. But now he’s gone

I write it out. Either go back to it after 24 hours, or share it with a friend. Logically breakdown the frustration and come up with a plan to move through it.

Go on really long runs.

Have sex.

I usually have a rant to my other half.

I'm careful what I share on social media, I never share anything relating to work, even after a bad shift.

I also keep a journal, where I can safely air my thoughts too.

I saw something online the other day about making notes / writing things down. It said about it making it reality that way and so something to deal with rather than it just being a thought (r something like that) so maybe I’ll get a diary

Rarely talk to others about any problems.

I deal with it by going very quiet, mull things around until i get a solution

It depends what kind of a vent it is. I’ll moan about my kids to my husband, moan about my husband to my friends, moan about work to other colleagues.

The big things I often don’t vent to anyone about really. More work them out in my head by myself.

Kx

My manager if it's work related, she's my safe space. I don't really vent at home, unless it's to the dog about muddy paw prints or leaving his toys around

I don't really vent though, if someone has pissed me off or done something I usually tell them and move on

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I keep an online diary for writing out my frustrations. Most of them aren’t as bad when you revisit them.

Those that are, then you can go do something about them!

Sometimes I cry.

Sometimes I eat.

Sometimes I wank.

Sometimes I do more than one of those things at the same time.

They're my go-to coping strategies for any strong emotion.

I do sometimes vent with friends, but I quickly get sick of listening to myself and figure they must be even more sick of it, so it doesn't last long.

I no longer trust friends, after my very best friend stabbed me in the back, then ran and hid. I never got closure just hurt and manipulation of the truth, that continues to this day.

So I just go for a long walk, away from everyone, until I've buried an issue or thought of a way to deal with it.
