The funniest people in the world?

I'm a bit hard to please when it comes to comedy, im not really Into slapstick (unless it's Vic and Bob) im not into over the top reactions (sorry Lee Evans fans)

But there's a couple of people that never fail to make me laugh.

Karl pilkington

Theo von

And Sean lock R.I.P

And my litteln. But her set needs alot of work.

It’s all subjective isn’t it. I like Lee Evens and I don’t like Ricky Gervais. Although his jokes can be witty, it’s just him.

I think there’s a massive difference between a good joke teller (evens) and done one who’s simply naturally funny and has a good sense of humour, such as Sean lock or frank skinner for example. Another great witty personality is David Mitchell. *Just my opinion.

An audience with Billy Connolly mid 80s, gut wrenchingly funny from start to finish.

It’s very subjective and depends what mood I’m in as well - I love true clever wit - David Mitchell on Would I lie To You makes me laugh and most of the panels of Mock the Week are a good bunch, Sean Locke bless him (he was always a star on 8 out of the cats do countdown with Carrot In A box a classic).

Then there’s like Bill Bailey - funny, lovely personality and an extraordinary musical talent. I watched him for the first time back in the late nineties and he genuinely made me laugh so hard it hurt. Billy Connelly mostly when I’m in the mood - I stumbled across a bit of the live gig where he was discussing the ridiculous terror attack at Glasgow Airport recently that had me crying with laughter.

For me, anything Ricky Gervais does is comedy gold. As if Extras and Afterlife wasn't brilliant enough the outtakes have me in bits. The cast of most of his series remain similar and each of the characters are brilliant and funny in their own right. Joe Wilkinson, Ashley Jenson, David Earl. Then throw in Paul Kaye etc.

For stand up. Punmasters like Stewart Francis, Milton Jones and hard to the bone Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle for me.

That list will be some people's worst nightmare.

I'm from a generation where there was no such thing as political correctness, and people had a sense of humour ,and people were not obsessed with worrying about whether someone would be offended by humour.

True. To be fair I did used to think Jim Davidson was funny. Makes me cringe now. Most people I knew thought chubby brown was hilarious. I wasn’t a fan though really. It was a different time for sure x

The same here with Ricky Gervais. Add in Afterlife, which was brilliant and also included some of the funniest people too - Joe Wilkinson, Rosin Conaty.

Also Sean Locke, Peter Kay and Micky Flanagan.

I miss Kelly Monteith. I liked his dry observations.

Hywel Bennett, although more an actor than a comedian, was also enjoyable in various roles. Shelley especially.
