"I know someone who went through something that I think is similar. They refused time and time again due to her age and the fact that she hadn’t had kids and that she might change her mind. She was insistent that she didn’t want kids. It was an absolute no-go. She also said that it affected her mental health quite considerably. Being in constant pain is awful. They finally relented. I believe she was younger than 40. I hope some of that information helps.x" I know ypur looking for ladies to reply OP, but just to add. There is often reluctance amongst public health officials to perform hysterectomies on women of childbearing age because it viewed as a permanent operation. In most cases, doctors prefer to use "less invasive treatments" which a lot of thr time prolongs the woman’s condition, the severity of symptoms, and is against the person’s own wishes. If a woman has been fully informed and all non-invasive issues are not working, and the consequences of a hysterectomy are explained with the woman being judged to be of sound mind based on all medical evaluations, then why is her informed consent not enough?? In that situation, where the procedure is medically indicated but still refused or delayed without a valid clinical reason, then the refusal should be in writing to allow for an urgent second opinion. Delays cause more harm.

"Hi all, One for the ladies mostly (sorry gents). I’m 37, have a history of secondary infertility, unexplained, bad periods, pcos, endo. I have been asking the nhs for a hysterectomy for years, about 5. 4 different consultants all say no purely based on my age. Depsite the fact medically I know the risk and fit the criteria. They put me on birth control as a fix, which doesn’t work. I’ve had to call of work today due to bad periods, and I’m just fed up. I guess I’m seeking advice or anything else I can try Tia " My wife had to have a hysterectomy at 35. Had all the same problems as you do, but we had a brilliant consultant who helped us. Hopefully you can the help you need soon.
