We know a few people who have tried it and lost the weight of a whole person between them In a few weeks .

It's not cheap a 75 - 80 uk quid a pop and worried about future side effects.anc what happens when / if you stop

And yes ppl lose weight , but however if u dont change your mindset regarding food etc, then close the weight, but your habits will remain, and back it will go on its like anything your mindset as to change , otherwise your just sticking a plaster over it xx plus it's not just a case of injecting and it works like that , u have to get active and put work into it also

To add to this they drink like fish and eat mostly crap too . And seems so unfair as we worked hard to lose a load and the put alot back on after eating and drinking during the summer months.

Wondering what happens long term

Most of these injections are to help with the control of diabetes type 2 in reducing blood sugars and HBA1C levels

Because of them being brought privately the NHS has struggled to get and maintain stock to prescribe to those who need it

I watched a video by a fitness influencer famous for rubbishing all claims of magical weightloss drugs and he gave it a go and lost about 5kg in 2 weeks when he barely had any fat to lose. Surely that can’t be healthy and I’d imagine there’d be a lot of muscle loss too.

You know what else does this? Resistance/strength training and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper and safer.

Can't see the benefit of paying out for a long term. I can sleep people getting depend etc then the real money will be made.

This is very true. There is no quick fix and where a company can turn a profit, it's easy to tap into people's insecurities.

I was always a little chunky even with watching what i eat. The carbs feck me up. Ive cut out a lot of the snacking, but even with smaller plates for portion control, i struggle.

Still, i wont knock someone's success journey with my caution.

Mindset, prep. and meal plans come into play in a big way. We all have an unhealthy relationship with food, whether it's suffering from being overweight or hackng an eating disorder.

You have to wonder about people's schedules, we all seem much more busy now. During covid, it was an abrupt stop. 6 years on, and everyone is rushing about trying to make up time.

I regularly get pop up messages from Boots (supposedly)showing vastly overweight people who lose a lot of weight using the weight loss patches. What it doesn't show is what happened to all the excess skin. or do these patches remove skin too? Sounds too good to be true imho.

my concern is what happens in years to come. do we really know the side effects as i get the feeling these so called 'fat jabs' are being used like some sort of plastic surgery or lip and bum job you read about people dying from.

Mounjaro works out at 30 - 60 quid a week depending on what dose you are on. The medication has been around for years to treat diabetes and more recently licensed for obesity. For those of us who spent decades trapped in an obese body, it has proven a lifesaver for many. I've lost 9.5 stone, safely, over 18 months, changed my eating habits and discovered a love of the gym, and have got rid of a number of serious health conditions now I'm not fat. Very little loose skin and my only complaint is that my boobs have shrunk more than I would like!

That's why it's useful and important to be knowledgeable and informed, before starting medical treatments. As you're not prescribed and taking them, it's natural that you'll be less informed than those who are. They are generally safe and very effective, with minor inconvenient side effects, for some users, and it's the actions of the person taking them, that causes the weight loss. They have to do the actual dieting, in order to lose their weight. Only by having changed what they are eating, does the medication support them.

For many of us it’s not about feeling good it’s about the health benefits of not being morbidly obese

There are risks in everything we do or don’t do in life but I know from talking to consultant and GP my quality of life and life expectancy are greater from taking what you refer to as “fat jabs” than not taking them

I've not had the weight loss injections but am on Alli tablets.so far lost just over 1 and half stone in about 6 weeks.as long as you are willing to cut out the crap food and eat healthier and try to do some exercise it works.as others have said it's no good getting injections to lose weight if you are not going to change your lifestyle as the weight will just pile on again once you stop

once your thyroid medication is right you should find it a lot easier. Are you seeing your GP or have you been referred to a consultant? Gps in my experience have very little understanding of thyroid problems
