"DO folks still get them and if so how do you get them?"

Why, do you want some?

I used to get crab sticks in the pub years ago

NHS states public lice is from close contact or sex, and can be found on any body hair apart from the head.

Pubic lice can be passed between people during sexual or physical contact and may be attached to most human bodily hair, yet not typically on your scalp. You may get them from sharing towels, beds etc.

Despite old warnings of extinction, they are around

Scabies are around too and some places have reported a shortage of treatment

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please)

The thought goes through me

I haven't heard of anyone having them amongst my friends group, but not the kind of thing you shout about.

They're still out there I'm sure.

The Tesco's ones are pretty decent, and value for money.

Plus club card points

They do seem like kind of a retro STD don’t they? I’ve never had them nor do I know anyone who has, although that’s not to say they aren’t still around. Caution always I guess.

If I’ve misunderstood the question - partial to a fried soft-shell. Lots of chilli. Mmmm.

I still shudder

Caught them in in my youth, didn't know what was causing the unbearable itch until I scratched a piece of "skin" off and noticed it had legs!

Too embarrassed to go to the doctors and in the end eliminated them with fly spray, probaby not recommended

So, if more of us opt for the smooth look below , that must be a good bit of ‘pubic’ safely advice .

Kinky nits?

Still around but shaving is a perfect defence. No hair. No kinky nits.

"Common misconception "

Except it's not, because sexual health clinics and charities, and academics have all attributed the drastic decline in cases to exactly that: it becoming more popular and expected of people to trim, wax or shave completely downstairs.

Just Google it and you'll see a ton of research papers on JSTOR and SAGE attributing the decline in cases to end increased popularity of pubic grooming.

They can climb on between treatments

There were reports that Brazilian treatments etc popularity could be nearing them to extinction but it's not happening

Poor hygiene and sexually transmitted

You can shave all to your hearts content but they dig into your skin and end up living there until feeding time

I imagine they're banned now but you could buy a packet of them, to share with a friend, perhaps adding them to their bed, so that they don't have to sleep alone

Pthirus pubis, the best known cure is to rub sugar around the infected area twice a day, it sticks their legs together with the added benefit of rotting their teeth.

Treatment for crabs based on insecticides like permethrin

Scabies

Permethrin or similar or benzyl benzoate

Excuse spelling

Fortunately crabs have shown little insecticide resistance unlike head lice
