For injecting people, for not injecting people, for locking people down, for not locking people down, for ordering ppe, for nor ordering ppe from the right place, for making money from corrupt decision making... Still.. They caught and prosecuted those bastard students who gathered more than 6 to a room. Thank god for small mercies.

I have a lot of issues with Elon, working hard wouldn't be one of them. By all accounts he works 18 hour days, sleeps in his office a lot of the time.

He has some massive issues but doesn't seem afraid to put in the work.

Maybe, just maybe he now has access to certain information. You know, the kind of information that was the domain of the tin foil hat wearing wackadoodle that had to be suppressed at all costs.

Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing how this works out…

I would say no. Masks science has been looked at for 30+ years. It never supported cloth or surgical masks for reducing viral transmission. Cloth masks in many studies have a negative efficacy due to bacterial contamination. N95 masks according to the literature off some protection.

So fauci came full circle and ended up what the science said all along.

The rest was pure politics. The policies designed to instill fear in people.

He is balls deep in the gain of function research and links to the lab that could have potentially caused all this in the first place though. That alone is grounds for investigation.

"Can someone tell me in simple terms or point me in the direction of what fauci is supposedly done

He has been the target of many conspiracies during the Covid Pandemic... these include:

- Funding Wuhan Lab's "gain of function" research, Commissioning the Virus and deliberately releasing it.

- Saying that masks wouldn't help and not advising their use as to aid the spread

- Saying that masks would slow the infection and mandating their use, so he could profit from them

The current attacks though are related to some emails, and particularly some conversation with Dr Kristian Anderson, where the Dr said that after early analysis of the C19 Virus, he "though" that "Some features potentially look engineered".

The Dr later moved away from those opinions as and when he had more data to work with.

"Even the cdc director said it stopped transmission.

Wrong.

The initial vaccine research evidence - and we must remember, these are vaccines (hint, it's plural), showed the benefits from their use.

We've maintained a very, explicitly clear focus in the Virus forum, from day 1, of the only credible data to use, being that which is published in reputable scientific journals.

Early focus was on reducing the numbers of deaths and people with severe illness. This helped to ensure health services around the world weren't overwhelmed and could deliver more comprehensive services, outside of Covid.

Subsequent vaccines have shown similar benefits. Of the many thousands of published papers, global understanding of improved strategies has amassed. . Newer treatments have been trialled and implemented, saving millions of lives.

Those vaccines bought us time. They were not sterilising immunity vaccines, preventing any and all infection.

I just finished reading a book called The Courage To face Covid 19 by John Leake. Read that and you will see why- the US response led by F was horrendous and they’re estimating led to about 650,000 unnecessary deaths.

It’s a truly tough read- reads like a John Le Carre novel and is very well written:

It was Fauccis backing of Remdesivir. Also the rewriting of hospital policies to exclude standard medications to reduce symptoms. There’s also a horrendous use of ventilation machines. There’s so much more. Honestly it’s worth the read. The guys involved in writing this treated over 10,000 patients frontline between them versus policy makers.

Remdesivir was the best widely available anti viral at the time. It had been used safely and successfully on other viruses. It worked on covid how has this killed 650000 extra people? Intubation is a discussion, when people are not able to breath from diseases people have been put on ventilators. Trust me that decision is never taken lightly as there is always a risk coming off it. With hindsight not as many people needed intubation, no could have known this. What standard medications did they exclude that relieve symptoms? John leake studied history and philosphophy.

It is coauthored by medic Peter McCullough. I haven’t been at all vested in covid arguments from the start. I read this book with an open mind. What I read shocked me beyond words but more importantly put the whole thing in context. Not much I can do but keep an open mind and read different points of view. There’s nothing wrong with doing that and then judging for yourself. It convinced me for sure that a lot went wrong that didn’t need to.

Mostly what went wrong both in America and over here was that there were fuckwit covid denying leaders, there was a huge right wing faction that did everything they could to make the virus spread faster, and there were many snake oil salesmen grifters promoting bollocks "medicine".

The reason that your book reads like a John Le Carre novel is that it's a work of fiction, set amidst real events, written by a couple of the people responsible for making everything worse, and attempting to push blame onto those who actually did save lives.

Yet Peter McCulloch treated people throughout

Guess your efforts mean nothing if you have opinions that go against the masses. Has he been right on everything he has said? No, far from it but his approach of attempting to treat rather than the "sit at home and wait for the vaccine" that has been pushed worldwide is more admirable to me than fauci/every other politician flip flopping between whatever falsehood is flavour of the week.

Anything that went against the so called silver bullet vaccine was so evil however so fuck him

Priorities please folks and those with medical degrees commenting on here, please stand up. Someone mentioned he's retiring for some stupid reason, the man's in his 80's! To all those who predicted mass deaths after taking the vaccine, why have millions not died all at once, since getting the jab? Must have missed all those funerals and the the funeral directors complaining of being snowed under, with so many deaths, from countries all over the world. If anyone was to be prosecuted, I'd suggest the dickhead who suggested bleach and some sort of light. The charge being, being commander in chief without a brain cell.

Challenging Stereotypes:

Stereotypes are everywhere – in films, books, and in what people say. People learn stereotypes at a young age from adults and by observing the world.

You can help by becoming aware of stereotypes you hear. And then challenging them.

Think to yourself:

- How do people you know break stereotypes others have of them?

- How do you break stereotypes others have of you?

It's not complicated..

It existed, to take all of the virus & conspiracy theory stuff out of The Lounge.

It still exists because people keep posting stuff on it... if you want it to disappear, then ignore it.

The real curious question is, why do people keep coming to The Virus Section just to say that they don't like it? Surely if you don't like it, then don't look at it.

"cos fauci is a liar and always was. at the moment he's saying he never once recommended lockdowns etc in USA despite 100's of videos of him recommending it lol

also all his lies to Congress or whatever about the Wuhan funding and to be fair he's been a dodgey bastard all the way back as far as the AIDS epidemic

Why worry about what us Americans say ? It's double edged sword. Live your own ignorance. Leaves us out of it. "

Exactly, stick to David Attenborough wild life documentaries for few years. It is excellent start.

Fauci's doom mongering fit nicely with the narrative our politicians were pushing at the time is the simplest answer.
