I was going to say, it doesn’t seem an awful lot different to normal life for me. Have worn masks since the start ( I like the privacy and comfort, especially in the winter it keeps my nose warm lol ) ,I can’t work from home, don’t go out that much and am double jabbed with booster coming up. There are plenty of scientists who disagree with masks, lockdowns etc, you just don't hear them on the BBC.
There is no scientific justification for these new restrictions. The new variant is milder, not a single person has died from it in the world. Hospital admissions and deaths aren't going up, the NHS is not under pressure, vaccine passports don't work, masks don't work.
How much longer are you prepared to carry on living like this? Enough is enough. | |||

I've not stopped mask wearing and to be fair have been wearing one much longer than we have been asked too.. as been wearing one since march 2020. I have always really social distanced. I have my covid pass..and am regularly tested so would have it regardless of vaccine status. My kids will be also following the plan b. And again no issue there as my daughter has continued to wear her masks at college and when out. | |||

Despite all of Johnson's war talk, we are not going to "defeat" it. All these restrictions do is suppress it. " On a personal level, I find them dehumanising- in Western culture we attach a great deal of importance on facial expressions etc. I also find them very uncomfortable to wear, both the restriction of breathing and I have a strong dislike of having my mouth and nose covered. Aesthetically I find they appear servile, rightly or wrongly I think they give the wearer the appearance of being subservient. On a practical level, I just don't think they are very effective. Unless in an extremely crowded environment (packed train etc) I have yet to be convinced that they offer much tangible benefit over adequate distancing. -- None of that is a criticism or denounceation of the new measures, just personal opinion. | |||

I've not stopped mask wearing and to be fair have been wearing one much longer than we have been asked too.. as been wearing one since march 2020. I have always really social distanced. I have my covid pass..and am regularly tested so would have it regardless of vaccine status. My kids will be also following the plan b. And again no issue there as my daughter has continued to wear her masks at college and when out. Why are you wearing a mask if you're regularly tested? Just curious." why wouldn't I..... " I was perhaps one of about five people who did wear a mask in the supermarket. Was simpler to count the ones who did than ones who didn't. On public transport it is same as before. Sometimes majority complied, sometimes it was maybe around half. This is all a far cry from the very beginning where 95%+ followed the rules. Gyms, restaurants, pubs, hairdressers etc are all places where it is not obligatory. I can't see how requiring masks only in shops and public transport will slow spreading by much where all these other avenues for spreading remain viable. It just seems like the flimsiest of plans. I guess that's what many of the public think as they disregard the plan almost completely. Either have a plan or don't. Don't have a plan which nobody respects which adds to the public perception that you're half adding things. Although, that ship probably sailed months ago. | |||

Saying I’m selfish for wanting my rights and freedoms just proves you’re scared and if that’s the case you do what’s best for you and I will love my life freely whilst you waste yours following a dictatorship!

'Going about their business as best they can...' would mean that they are taking reasonable steps to protect others, prsumably, as well as themselves.

Pushing the NHS so that it cannot reduce its backlog, causes more innocent people to suffer and to potentially die. Why would want to do that?
Parties may have been had. Rules brokenm. Laws may be inconsistent and poorly applied. But most people have not needed laws to know what the common sense and decent thing to do is. They've been reasonable and behaved very supportively for the benefit of us all.
