You can find an article on this topic on Google:

"Poland has a medicine for COVID-19"

I think it is good news.

Great News.

Many others are researching this too and still want volunteer donors who have had Covid-19.

It's very good news. Will the authorities allow LGBT people access to it though?

I know what you mean but I wouldn't worry about that. There are still normal people in Poland, just like in the UK

God old Polish ingenuity. Just like when they started the world down the road to cracking the Enigma code.

Yes Putin has the vaccine & has verified it works. Unfortunately the rest of the World is ignoring it.

What does that have to do with the vaccine?

I think you may be confusing it with Novichok.

Poland helped start the process in which the Enigma code was successfully cracked during world war 2 helping bring an earlier end to the war.

Poles broke the Enigma code so we can be sure that the medicine will work

Not to pour cold water on this but there's no verifiable evidence supporting these claims at this time.

They have 'produced a drug' - but there have been no trials, no evidence of efficacy & safety and no approval for use.

Further, the drug appears to be based on convalescent plasma which will greatly limit the volume that can be produced even if it's proven to work.

It's also not the first antibody-based treatment, there are several others already at the trial stage in other countries. That includes at least one based on lab-produced monoclonal antibodies which should hopefully scale far better if it's proven to work.

Provide sources. Some other countries have something but don't know where they are.

I think it's better than the untested vaccine that everyone is waiting for.

A vaccine cannot be made in one or two years.

I'm sure you're well aware of the severe limitations on pasting links here. I'm not going to fall into the trap of posting links & getting banned, sorry. However, some selected quotes (you can google the sources yourself) :-

Polish drug :

"The treatment involves taking blood plasma from patients recovering from Covid-19, who have antibodies"

"the prophylaxis of the drug against the virus still needs to be clinically trialed"

So.. it's based on plasma & hasn't undergone trials yet. No trials means no proof of efficacy, no proof of safety and no approval for use. Pretty much exactly what I said.

As for alternatives, I can post a link to that since it's been reported on the BBC :

The drug will pass clinical trials faster than the vaccine.

What would you believe? Medicine or vaccine?

Both, if the appropriate trials have been completed, the science done and the risk profiles are understood.

The approval process for a new drug is every bit as lengthy and complex as for a new vaccine and with good reason. Drugs can go wrong every bit as badly as vaccines.. thalidomide anyone?

Er no. The trial lengths will be the same for both a medicine and a vaccine. They have to undergo the same tests.

Guess if you have it and are very in well you would believe in medicine. As for a vaccine you need to trust that mmmm now that's all together different.

This medicine seems natural.

A vaccine tested in one year? You don't believe it, do you?
