Bristol

We're looking to find some new haunts; if you have a favourite restaurant or bar, in Bristol or Bath, drop it into the thread and, if you have the time, add a few words why you like it.

What we don't want is Indian restaurants that serve the same sauce over everything and/or the offerings are oily.

Chinese restaurants that serve commercial sauces and encourage your taste buds with MSG.

Bathampton mill I used to work there

Great setting on the river bank and looks fantastic at this time of year as its surrounded by woodland

Thanks that's the sort of place we're after.

Ate at The Mayflower, between the Bear Pit and Bristol central bus station, on Friday.

The westernised Chinese food is at the front of the menu but, at the back, is the really good stuff including tripe (beef and pork), jelly fish, duck feet, fish heads, frogs legs and turnip.

We almost had to roll ourselves back to the car.

Hi we've both lived in and around Bristol for many years. We are both in cateting so know what we like & have eaten in loads of restaurants on Bristol & did sadly have bellies to prove it.

A few recommendations for steak, "steak of the art" in the harbourside. "Cau" Clifton triangle "Ox" Corn St & "Cowshed" Whiteladies rd.

Pubs "The spotted cow" Bedminster good for Sunday lunch, "Star & Dove" Totterdown upmarket food.

Fine dining restaurants "Moreish" Cotham, Bells Diner" Montpellier.

Any other advice just message us.

Try the Langley Arms in Emersons for Sunday Carvery. Avenue in EG do a great breakfast and have a nice lunch menu

I thoroughly recommend Yak Yeti Yak as a Nepalese restaurant. The food is exceptional, the staff so polite and friendly. The menu isn't extensive but the spices and flavours . Well worth a visit if you want to avoid the run of the mill.
