So, BBC or ITV etc decide to do an in-depth documentary on The Swinging Scene in Britain and they contact you. They ask if you would be willing to participate and share one bit of advice or share a swinging experience with the nation.

Would you say yes to appear in the documentary briefly or would you say no? Also, if yes....can we hear what you'd share? Xx

How would they contact any one unless you openly advertised being a swinger? We wouldn;t be contactable and I'm sure most swingers would say the same. Wouldn't get involved at any rate - too much stigma and misunderstanding about the lifestyle. Z

Just a thought but maybe they'd do some research and join sites like this one to contact people

Do you know, thinking about this, if i could remain anonymous i think i would - there have been programmes that have not been open and honest so i think an honest account of real life swinging might be good! Z

no this part of my life is compartmentalised and no one elses business.

be aware i have been getting messages from people i think may be reporters cant prove it but they ask questions that lean me to think they are researching

We would only do it anonymously - we have chosen to be anonymous here so wouldn't be seen on national TV!

The two bits of advice that we would give in respect of couples:

1)It has to be completely mutual.

2)Don't do it if there are problems in your relationship.

I would have to be sure what sort of spin they were putting on the whole thing and how they were going to make people look after editing (and I don't mean the make-up).

And as I couldn't be sure of that..... the answer is no.

Would be tempted...

Would like people to see some of us "normal" swingers as opposed to the fuk muppets that I have seen before on such programmes!!!

I have only seen 2 programmes and I cringed at both!

I would. All my friends and family know about my lifestyle so that wouldn't be a problem.

I think it would be nice to put across a sophisticated _iew of swinging from a single female angle. Show that we are not all slappers and make informed choices as to who to have fun with,

part of the reason i blog is to try to explain to the outside world that we are not a bunch of deviants, peadoes or nutters. One of my proudest moments was when a Guardian journalist commented that something i had written was excellent, and put up the link...

but and it is a big but, any kind of documentary would attract the attention of the tabloids, from a purely personal _iew, especially cos of my bdsm side.

So much as i would love to destroy a few myths, it would hurt my parents too much. So a big no from me.

Honestly? Wow that's mega!! Had Kate Garroway still been on morning tv I think red would be up for that!!

That's awesome Jemima, I think giving info and experiences out is a great thing for newer people to the special activities, we have seen a fair few couples plunge in with both feet, only to then be back on as singles with bad feelings towards each other xx

A good friend of ours appeared on a swinging docu' turns she thought it had went well. She had put her point across in a sensible and detailed manner. Turns out it was to be shown on ch5 whole thing was cut to shreds and edited to an inch of its life!

BBC 1

BBC 3

ITV

Sky

Sky Sports

Dave

Quest

QVC

Babestation

And for the reasons named above I am producing a documentary myself to have a more balanced and honest _iew on swingers. Though there is interest from several networks I will not sell my documentary to a channel that will cut and edit it to pieces.

We would not appear of television for any programme anyway, as we belive that it should be professionals that entertain us not unpaid public

But that aside a friend of ours was inter_iewed for a tv documentary, they were most upset that he had a camera set up filming the mirror immage i.e. from behind him filming the inter_iewer as they were then unable to change the questions and cut the answers to fit their agenda... strangly enough the inter_iew was never broadcast, and others on the programme complained about the edits making them look foolish. The camera ALWAYS lies.. especially when someone has a minority to pick on...

I would heed this as a warning.

At least you've had someone that has approached you identifying themselves as a reporter.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of undercover reporters out there. That would join sites like these, pretend they're a swinger. Exchange their fake photos with your photos, ask you questions. Then next thing you know you're in the next issue of some glossy magazine with "Sex scandal" on the title, and one of your photos (either in full, or with your face blurred out. - a half-arsed attempt at concealing your identity, but really all your close friends recognise it's you, since it's a fully clothed photo from a wedding photo-shoot).

I'd say just be cautious if any members start asking you fishy questions like "Why do you swing? What motivates you to do this? How many people have you met up with? etc.".
