Have noticed a few profiles on Fab where people state that they don't meet people who are or who have been in the forces.

Just wondering what peoples reasons behind this is? Not looking to change anyones mind as each to their own etc is just one of those things that makes me think.

There is a contingent of our nation's finest who come on here with the attitude that because they are in the military or wear a uniform everyone will immediately want to shag them.

Not everyone does, and not everyone finds that attitude particularly sexy.

It would appear that there's a certain contingent of firemen (or people who claim to be firemen) who have a similar attitude - I read a hilarious comment on someone's profile the other day that said something along the lines of "Our house isn't on fire so we really couldnt give a shit if you're a fireman" Brilliant!!

but even if thats not the case, maybe they have had a bad experience previously with military peeps ??

maybe you should question the member directly as whilst others here may not have a problem (and thinking about it believe you posted same question a while ago in here) - how/why should that effect the profile/s in question ???

I have seen that on one or two profiles. I wondered why they have it on their profile. I thought maybe it is because some soldiers (and firemen) seem to think by saying they are a soldier women and couples are going to pounce on them.

As said though the only way to find out is ask the people who have it on their profile.

I don't meet them for a variety of reasons...

I'm glad most like to say they are. Means its easier to avoid.

I used to have it on my profile but found you just get them messaging you thinking you will change your mind.

Now I just refuse if they message me.

@Bucksouple2007 - can see what you mean about asking directly, however I personally think it would be rude to email someone asking why they wouldn't want to meet (personal opinion), as well as I might be outside their range for other reason. I don't believe I have asked this question before, have even checked my previous postings to check as sometimes memory does slip.

@_aceytop - fair comment, didn't think about that one.

@Calimero - Respect your choice as to who you meet or don't, and that you have reasons. As you say, you have had mails asking to change your mind, hence one of the reasons why I haven't mailed people directly.

Thanks for the feedback, as I say was just something that peaked my curiosity.

To be fair one of my main reasons is the amount of forces men I know.and the way they boast about the women they fuck because they are soldiers..

I used to live where there were lots of forces lads... and you know.. most gave men in general a bad name.. but.. really to be fair its I believe just part of the image. Not all are bad.. but well.. I am not doing it.

Personally I don't understand why anyone feels they need to ask others to justify who they meet, find it a cheek to be honest.

We're never going to appeal to everyone so why focus on profiles that exclude you?

I've never seen any one with a profile excluding service men. Personally most of them are for us too young, but that's a different issue. Have met many a squady and their wives in the past, usually the wives and the squady in passing lol.

Couldnt agree more, my O/H, always says he wants a woman to shag him because she wants to, not because he wears a uniform. Hate to see ppl in the foreces useing the job to get themselves a shag. Its very disrespectfull in our opinion. x

There's a dating website that I saw advertised which was pretty much along the lines of being there for people who want to date men in uniform.

I thought that was a bizarre concept. Surely you date the person not the uniform..?

Then it got me thinking. I fancy the arse off the receptionist at my dentist. Maybe there's a dating website catering solely for people who want to date dentists; receptionists. And maybe she'll be on there. And maybe she'll meet me and fall in love with me and live happily ever after.

There you go! Why are you asking about Forces personnel as if they're something special. To me they're trying to use their position as an added attraction - without trying to sound derogatory, would they be banging the drum if they were truck drivers or mechanics? (sorry truck drivers etc)You never see a thread asking about people wanting to shag accountants do you? The answer is a extremely probable no. I'm an ex firefighter but I've never used it to or this or any other website to further our indulgences in this lifestyle. We prefer to befriend people and work at it rather than use our uniform to save us having to make conversation. Would you have your work picture on your profile if you were a carpenter - no! Forces, you do a good job but dont think we all want to jump into bed with you...it's not the uniform its the person in it, so stop hiding behind it!

Most of my long term relationships have been with guys in the forces... So it has lost its appeal to me somewhat. I think its up to individuals who they want to sleep with. I am not bothered by the uniform anymore as I have had to wash it after a weeks excersise.. haha. I guess its just one of those things that people might not be attracted to someone that is in the forces.

Me I am not that bothered by it I would rather get to know the person and I don't care what job they do. I know women that will only shag men in the forces I think that they are hoping that they will become the officer and gentleman typer scerinaro.

Just my thoughts though..

Might possibly understand why people don't want to meet serving people, but can't understand why anyone won't meet people who have been in the forces? What are people worried about? G was in the RAF 25 years ago, and we have never come across any anti-forces prejudice in the swinging world.

I have met a couple of soldiers on this site. And will continue to do so my reason they know what respect is and they understand no means no. Unfortunatly the one civvi from her i met was a total numpty didnt understand no and was rude.

Personaly i allways feel safer with a soldier as they aare more traceable once a few questions have been asked.

oh and i have found them to be the best shags too hahahahahahah.

you will most probably find that alot of people from military towns and surrounding areas wont as the reputation of soldiers is far from exemplary where i was stationed at one point 80% of arrests on the w/ends were either squaddies fighting amounst themselves or the local people. cant really blame those who wont meet in those circumstances

I find it disrespectfull using the uniform and name of the army etc to try and get laid, not only that posting pictures all over websites is a no no one of the first things you are told in the army is personal security very silly you never know who is looking at your pictures

Personally for me i stay clear of men in uniform, am sure there are some genuine men in uniform but i find they treat you badly and lie about their status and a lot of males on here have been in the forces and not anymore and inice people with their old pics and they look nothing like that now, wide berth for me am afraid.

We used to do that.In my case (Mr) it was because of the political views I hold. In my wife's case it was because she is a pacifist and also because she believed that members of the forces have bad attitudes towards women. We don't do it now though. I still hold the same political views and my wife is still a pacifist, but through this site we have met some men who are in the forces and are really nice guys and don't have bad attitudes towards women.

Know so many in the forces who dont have a bad attitude towards women, my fella is in the army and he is very respectfull of women. think its more the young single ones with more of that attitude. xx
