We went last Sunday and there was no single men who took my fancy.......... It happens. Times are hard and all the clubs are noticing a downturn. In fact, I know one club that will give you a free visit if you go to one of their evenings and there are less than 20 people there! It's not just Chams the recession is hitting. **And as for the griping minnie who couldn't get membership at Chams........ If you whinged this much to the staff........ no wonder they said no** | |||

Its like every other business, it has to make money, the staff cant live on sex.
To ALL the single men complaining all the time, admitted I havent been on their site in a while, but it used to say ring before going. So complaining about it, just gets your profile blocked. Even if the site has not been updated, there are SOOOO many threads on here, that no one has an excuse not to read up before they head over!
As a single woman, I wouldnt just turn up at a new club without checking first, so as a single male, why would you?
I love going to chams, it gives me a safe place to have fun, that they dont let anyone of the street walk in, in my eyes is a good thing. | |||

My main gripe is that as they have a website, why don't they put a few simple facts on it. Like "Single men ring up and ask about membership before attending" Simples as the meercat would say. Everyone who is told to come along is asked to bring 2 forms of ID, but NEVER NEVER NEVER do they tell you to turn up 'just in case' "There is no mention made of a queue for single guy membership. It is ALWAYS mentioned that single men have to join the waiting list, or they are told that entrance will not be allowed that day and to call back another time or, sometimes, they are asked if they are bi and if so, they can 'sometimes' be guaranteed entrance on a Monday. Chams does get it's ratio's right (most of the time) purely by the fact that it limits the amount of single men that can join. I did state in another paragraph that if all those wanting to join (the ratio of 100 single men, 5 couples, 1 single woman), then the club would be full of single men moaning because it was full of single men. Well I wish you'd answered the phone when I called early this afternoon when I asked about membership at a time when the club was probably not too busy. A bit of staff training may be in order to bring people into line with the good guidance that you refer to. "...Most clubs will have a waiting list for single guys..." Really? Which ones? There will be a fair number of guys wo would be grateful to be saved from any more unwanted surprises. I even asked for an explaination of what was meant by "couldn't guarantee a membership" and was told quite simply, that it all depended on if there was a vacancy at the time, and to bring 2 forms of ID just in case. "I've been going to Chams from the day it opened" And I bet the petrol companies love you for it. Cheltenham to Darlaston. Plenty of miles there. It must be a good club that it's worth all that investment in fuel. Who says that the blokes have got it expensive eh? | |||

However, at social events hosted by an existing member, his/her guests do not need to be members in order to attend the party.
