I understand that and it is just trying to be safe etc

But sti's don't necessarily show up straight away (ie a week or two down the line after a meet or a club visit etc) so do yous (and others) wait until a significant time has elapsed before you 1 get your sti checks done and 2 wait for the outcome of such before having another meet or club visit etc

Dear Seasonal, The standard incubation period for a virus is 2 weeks. Test results come back within 10 days. Therefore you should get tested 2 weeks after each bareback encounter and not bareback until you get your test results back. Hope this helps fabbers! Some info for those throwing their hands in the air screaming we are all doomed.

There were less than 800 people died from aids in the UK last year. A number that continues to fall. Compare that to the 1700 who died in car crashes! A number that continues to rise. You are therefore twice as likely to die in a carcrash as you are from unprotected sex.

You are also according to one of our friends at the gum clinic, more likely to catch std's from oral than full penetrative sex!

How many of the safe only lot follow the guidance on oral sex?

I think you'll find that statistically people who have unprotected sex are far far more likely to get aids than those that have protected sex.

Statistically far far more people travel in cars than have unprotected sex therefore the pure death statistics are skewed.

Stats stats and damn stats, can be used to prove arguments how you like them, apparently 8 out of 10 people think all stats are made up.

Ultimately do and enjoy whatever you want, afterall, we are all grown ups, but don't try kidding yourselves with stats without context.

Afterall, travelling in cars is dangerous, and despite that some people die in accidents, personally I chose to wear my seatbelt just in case. (oh and it stops that bloody beeping when you go faster than 6mph.)

oh wait no it was clamidia lol but yeah you get the idea, took a risk paid the price (well two pills later and all good) lucky it was one of the most common sti's and not something more serious, yes it feels better without but seriously don't risk it, yes it's embarrassing to get tested and admit I caught stuff here but if it makes one of you lot think twice then job done, like I said we were new to swinging and just after the 2nd meet it happened so don't risk it
