I have in the past spent a whole day plugged. Underwear helps to keep things in place. Night time not so much.

Shape is everything...

A good sized flange on the base stops items from slipping somewhere that needs fishing out (Not a nice experience for anybody).

Thin neck allows the sphincter to close around the creating good hold.

Extended plug wearing requires a good clean track..

Build up wear time. Body will get used to it.

Chastity butt plugs are even more fun as the plug is locked into a shape that cannot be extracted.

Are you really you sure you want to sleep with a butt plug inserted?

Wouldn't you prefer your bum hole to recover, close up and tighten back up again up overnight?

I wonder what your benefits are to leaving it inside for prolonged periods.....

Also, think about the lube you are using.

Some water-based lubes may dissipate over time & leave you dry, taking the plug out the next morning could be rather painful if that happens.

Agreed. Forgot to mention lubes.

With that in mind, think about the plugs material. Some don't like silicon lubes, for instance.

If you have cleaned extensively previously before wearing. You will have a good chance that wind will not be an issue.

Diet is important. Gassy foods and drinks -you would wish to stay clear of during the day time during eating spells.

There are plugs which have a central hole which will let wind escape. These tend to be used for enemas but can be corked so to speak. So plug is never removed.

If you are playing for yourself you can release the plug and re insert.

If it is a chastity plug. Your mistress should oversee this play throughout the day and provide care if so required. Safety is everything in that case as the plug can not be physically removed.

Not around the house but I have slept with plugs in both intentionally and unintentionally. Generally even if I start the night with one in it gets taken out after a few hours because it becomes uncomfortable but that may be because I tend to be pushing up the sizes.
