Just a small post to see what trans/cd's think the hardest part of achieving a good look with either make-up or clothes ect? We could also turn this post into a place where people give tricks and tips if some people are struggling with certain aspects. X

my biggest struggle is getting clothes to fit me , having quite broad shoulders and 42 e bust I find the dresses are always too big on my hips ,so I tend to opt for stretchy fabric that clings to my body shape , the womens sizings differ so much from shop to shop thus making it even more difficult lol

Makeup is the hardest thing and needs the most practice. If you go out you need to.learn how to carry yourself so you don't walk like a chimp x

invest in a good make up brush set , makes a world of difference using good quality products , always remember to set ur foundation with lose powder or a setting spray , ur make up will last much longer

For me it is the make up, I can never get the foundation or the cheeks just right. So I usually end up with not the right look, had my make up some correctly once by someone and I fancied the arse off myself

Try magic powder you can get it off amazon

Most on here use it for public hair but it's designed for black mens beard hair it's mild on the skin follow that with a good moisturiser

it is applied far more evenly using a damp make up sponge ive found over the years , but don't forget to set it with lose powder or a setting spray , I personally prefer a spray

Use long lasting rimmel 24 hour liquid foundations, its cheap, apply good quality translucent powder on top of it, such as Max factor, you get long lasting lipsticks and also lipcote that prevents it from smudging..

As for dress sense, look at the women around you in society of your own age group, note carefully both their casual everyday wear and also their nites out wear and emulate that...

Obtain a couple of cheap synthetic wigs for fun times and a good real hair wig for special going out occasions...

Quick tip when you have that shadow on your chin. Apply blusher before anything else. This makes your grey face pink which is easier for makeup to correct than grey shades. x

false eyelashes!

I really struggle with them. I think it is partly because I have very poor vision in one eye.

I have been trying a tip I got which was to apply the glue to the eyelid first then stick the lash to it. It is much easier but hard to get a very fine line - no problem if wearing heavy makeup as it can be covered up but no use for a natural look.

glue stick method needs doing 3 times at least and drying each application with a hair dryer ? they should be able to be covered with concealer and foundation , are they mega bushy ones ?

My eyebrows are quite bold but I have them trimmed and then make them into wowbrows so they become a feature...maybe use bright lipsticks and blush to draw eyes away from them? Or a long fringe or even glasses or sunglasses to hide them?

Definitely makeup for me too, specifically eye shadow, I'm just not very good at it although I must admit I don't practice enough. Think I'm going to seek a professional to work some magic on me at least once so I can see my full potential.

I don't really have a problem with a clothes as I'm quite a slim frame naturally, which is handy.

Shoes is a strange one, I'm a size 9.5 or size 10 for men's shoes but took a chance on a new pair of size 8 heels from Primark (don't judge me!) and they fit fine. They're wide-fit so maybe that's it. If I can get away with size 8 for shoes then it opens a lot of options up

I found the same. I’m size 9 but tried a pair of Asda size 8 heel and they fit perfectly so bought them. I’ve also bought many a pair of eBay and even bought 2 pairs 5 inch heel for £2.50 each new. Bargin

I get a lot of things from Ebay or Amazon, means you take a chance on fitting but I'm not really that comfortable trying things on in shops themselves. Ebay in particular is a good resource, can find anything!

For 6 O’clock shadow, you can use Red or Orange lipstick over the stubble (just enough so it looks like sun burn) then blend it out, then concealer, then foundation.

Another tip is to prepare your face by exfoliating, followed by a Primer before applying any make-up to make your face look Baby smooth.

Male physiques may need a Corset to pull your waist in and a Tutu (or padded hips) to flare your hips out. This will give the illusion of womanly curves..

For makeup I'd recommend having a look at Joseph Harwood, who is trans and his makeup caters more specifically for m to f transformation. It's wearable not the full on drag that a lot of channels seem to gear towards.
