There are a large number here that do but would never admit to it. Often though there are giveaways. They are the ones who state condoms aren't the answer and they will rant away that people get complacent if they use them. These are the same people who unfortunately spread things through the community putting people at risk.

Agree. Do sometimes see dont like condoms on profiles but why would they post on here. They know they will probably get nagative remarks. They cant really defend it apart from saying its up to us which indeed it is. Still think they are only able to do it cos the rest of us dont. Imagine if no one did now with all the stuff that is around today. Doesnt bear thinking about.

The simple fact is for example in the case of HIV you are more likely to die or suffer severe injury driving to a safe sex meet than you are accommodating a bareback couple - don't believe it? Then go google the death rates/causes in the UK then come back and tell everyone what you found.

And if you are a smoker then don't even worry yourself about safe sex or bareback!

And we just gotta add - we've been swinging over four years, have check ups from time to time (last one was in Feb) and never contracted anything yet.

Also gotta add if you like to bareback then put it on your profile (wtf isn't there a tick box for it on fab?) and you will find lots of folks who want to play - even if they don't openly state bareback

I have just scanned the thread and it seems to be very naive - there are a lot of bb peeps here and some are very honest about it and i have to give them credit for that although it's not for us some people tell the truth, - if someone wants bb then thats up to them - if we are all honest then we can make decisions based on that Z

I am never a fool and if it is a random I wrap my tool!! However I have been with people long term and have bare backed with them and do prefer it.. There is something about stopping midway that kinda kills the passion so to speak., I do get tested regularly just in case but am in the muddle of a 6 month drought since I split with my long term partner.. Honesty the best policy but you lose me with the ridiculous arguement about other risks in life.... not relevant. Also, how lucky are you that the majority of us wrap up otherwise you would be at a risk that Im pretty sure you would think twice about even comparing it to smoking or driving. Agree about the bb button on profile. Pick a side of the fence and be open about it = lets everyone have a choice. I have suggested it on threads before but people dont seem to agree that there is a point. I guess we all try to defend what we do to others otherwise we dont feel justified in doing it do we?

Very well put.We all judge the risks we are willing to take.For me personally with random sex i do not see the point in adding to the statistical risk by not using a condom.It is like crossing a road without looking,yes you might make it safely across,but you will be bloody fecked when you get hit by the lorry.

Risks are comparitive - you take your choice whether you drink, smoke, drive, use drugs, bareback or umpteen other things we choose to do in our daily lives.

And they are all relative and all relevant.

However it would be better for everyone (in our honest opinion) to have a bareback button on the profile that can be searched - then folks can be more honest and folks can make their choices more wisely and lets face it folks can be more happy

However we never heard why we can't have this feature here and doubt very serious any or admin will care to comment now on it either

Comparing risk factors of other activities is relevant to keep things in prospective which is always a problem with this subject.

"It's like playing Russian Roulette" odds 6 to 1. Having sex with an HIV/AIDS victim your risk is something like 1000 to 1. Your chances of having sex with someone infected with HIV/AIDS millions and millions to 1.

It's a matter of keeping the risk in proportion then maybe it would be possible to have a rational debate with out bare-backers being made to feel like monsters!

The pro 'safe-sex' say the risk is VERY high. The bare-backers say the risk is low. While in fact no one really knows the true risks with or without condoms.

But here's one thing you can all be certain of... swinging is everything that 'safe-sex' isn't! ALL swingers are dramatically increasing their risk of contracting an STI/STD by the fact of swinging.

So not one active swinger on the planet is in a good position the shout about 'safe-sex' as you/we all abuse the foundation of the principals of 'safe-sex'

The figures of how much safer you are with a condom have been quantified and there is variation between Europe and the US ,Europe says you are 5 Times safer with a condom and US says 3 times safer. Of course you have to factor in the 0.4% allowable production failure of condoms which are allowed into shops without recall that is 4000 per million produced are duds ,blowing em up does not show if they are ok as hiv is only 1 micron in size,given that i shrug and think ok 3 times safer is better than no help at all.

I totally respect the people who have done the figures, quantified and accepted the risk, Using a condom is safer but is NOT safe sex ,so lets live and let live eh .

There is another angle too that beggers belief... The safe-sex person looks at a new sexual contact and says/thinks 'There is no way in a million years that I will have sex with you without a condom'... WHY? *insert a 1000 health risks* and then, with a condom just for penetrative sex they STILL have SEX with the person, someone who they think might be carrying STI/STD HIV/AIDS believing the condom WILL protect them!!! I just don't understand that!

The two choices you give are not the only ones available. Some of us are incredibly fussy about who we meet and who they meet and not meeting many new people and using protection. Oral unprotected but no guys are allowed to cum in my mouth either. That lowers to chances to odds we are more comfortable with. Works for us. The rest of you will do as you please also. Just annoys me to read such silly comparisons. We are all prepared to take different amount of chances that we are comfortable with. I dont look up odds of driving a car, smoking or eating too much as a reason for our being willing to swing. Its ridiculous and means nothing.... and this from someone who has lost both of her parents due to smoking.

We've met couples who bareback only but are extremely fussy and selective about who they will swing with at all

It's just personal choice (though we also believe looking at the various risks is a sensible thing to do if you are going to get this all into perspective in your own head and make an *informed* choice)

So yes we prefer bareback, we do drive to meets (but not always) we do drink and we would never put a cigarette to our lips in our lives

Does that make us any more or less stupid than someone who prefers safe sex and smokes 30 a day?

We are undeniably a lot less at risk of serious (or even fatal) health problems than the safe sex smoker but we don't actually have an issue with them either nor do we think of them as stupid - i n fact we've shagged more than a few

Now that is just the kind of thing I was talking about. Voicing your opinions in this way is just the sort of thing that causes some bare-backers to lie/hide.

Now I'm NOT suggesting for a split second that you shouldn't voice your opinion. I for one have lots of opinions about lots of different subjects but many of them I keep to myself for the simple reason they are never going to be helpful in any way.

Now you see, I wouldn't bother asking someone if they barebacked as I wouldn't believe them anyway.

I don't think people who go dogging, clubs etc even bother with names, marital status etc let alone if they bareback! The fact you're having sex with strangers makes the question a bit daft in my opinion.

All I can do is protect myself as best I can and take full responsibility for that. If I wanted to have safe sex...well, I wouldn't have sex at all!
