Not Italian but we did notice a trend for stating mixed race as in an Afro/Caribbean and white mix.

I have this on my profile because I saw a profile stating no mixed race. At least people make their own judgements based on their "preference"?

I have seen profiles like the op is talking about. It's a shame people feel they have to do that

I don't put down my heritage (italian, afro caribbean and english) but I do get a lot of people asking if I am asian as they have always wanted to be with an asian girl. Maybe I should for clarity's sake but I don't see why it's that relevant. I look racially ambiguous anyway. I think men might do it to get around the no lists. Meh.

Never heard of that before.. not that I would pass myself off as another race.. think we should be proud of who we are.

Even with my name containing "indian" I am still asked if I am indian or european

How many people suddenly become uninterested when finding out someone is Asian, not Italian.

I was seeing an Asian man from here who said that some women stopped talking when he said he was Asian.

I think it's a reflection on the people they are messaging, who would consider someone who is Italian or whatever and not if they were Asian.

Or is it a reflection of if something is advertised as one thing which appeals to you but you get something completely different would you be happy ....

Just keeping this in perspective with the op's quote.. i dont advertise myself as anything other than what I am.. if others build up their hopes then are dissapointed thats their problem.

I actually quite fond of Indian men and communicate with quite a few long before I joined fabs.

All these I've encountered many times in the past but:

- it's only prevalent amongst the male and out of these; those who are working outside of India.

I never questioned them back. To me ethnicity does not really matter.

If you're hot, you're hot eg Shahid Kapoor

If it were something that made a difference to the sex I was expecting or a big age difference maybe. I wouldn't be put off by someone saying their name was Manuel when it was really Mohammed.

More attractive to people who would meet them if they weren't Asian.

it is kind of exotic to describe yourself as european. which makes people sound more interesting and sexier than british white or asian.

i might just do that actually if i want to meet again off here, describe myself as european to appeal to more guys.

Would you say that if it were a single man who turned out to be married, someone who had safe sex yet said they only bareback? Of course not! So what's different in this case?

Laughing at Asians having to say they are Italian makes me wonder why they feel they have to do it ..... I think that is sort of sad rather than funny
