Does it creep you out when someone plays that bloody silly "I know someone who knows you" game, but won't tell you who it is?

As a single lady living in a small village, I find it creepy and weird. Had it a few times recently where the person chatting makes a thing of it, and then won't tell me who it is, nor what the other person has said - so I am now really unsure if a previous meet is blabbing and being really indiscreet...

Has anyone else had this happen?

sadly some guys just love to play mind games long as you cant be identifed in your photos and carfull who you give them to is all you can really do or change your location to somewhere else.

my location is very vague after a previous learning experience.

Limited photos shared locally... it was the fact he said he'd been told about me by someone I had met, and that he knew I knew them...

We've had this a couple of times and it is unsettling. The people doing it are creeps who deliberately try to frighten people and to do it to a single woman is just nasty and cowardly. Block as hard and as fast as you can if possible twice.....absolute low lifes!

Oh they are definitely blocked.

I'm just trying to figure out if they were playing silly buggers, or if one of my previous meets really is blabbing.

Very unsettled here now... actually considering stopping meeting via fab because its happened a few times now.

I can't believe people would do this...I know I shouldn't be surprised but you'd like to think the best in people.

To resort to gaining some sort of kick out of a mind-fuck is pathetic. I guess they find security behind the anonymity of a screen. Could never stand bullies.

Ugh!? That is gross! Them them blocked. Shame it's not a strong enough reason to report them.

someone once tried to tell me they knew my husband and that he would be shocked to find out about my life on.here......how he enjoyed reading those messages!! I have no idea if they were just messing or truly thought I was someone else. I just blocked in the end. pathetic behavior really. best not to bite.....but I did enjoy going along with it for a while...

I can see how it would make you feel that way. Try not to be too concerned because I suspect it's an idle creep who enjoys scaring women rather than someone who really does know you.

Would changing your profile name make you feel any more secure?

I really like my username - it suits me and actually means something to me, and I'd feel as well deleting completely if it comes to that (also no fecking clue what I'd change it to)

Really unsettled but pissed off... does likely mean I am highly unlikely to meet any of my previous meets again now tho, apart from the very trusted ones.

Surely you should be able to report this to admin. If there's proof through messages on here surely that's a good enough reason to kick them off? Would it not come under harassment?

I've had this before someone messaged me putting my real name in the message title and they wouldn't tell me who they were. My location on my profile isn't my actual location but it's my closest city. Totally creeps me out.

I've had this in a different way when I got four or five messsges off local women telling me I was a liar and a cheat and that "people talk"

I wish people would get their facts straight before "talking"

It really pissed me off at the time that someone was clearly bad mouthing me. I can only assume it was someone who was jealous or a case of mistaken identity.

We have had it a few times. But most locally seem to know about our swinging which isn't a problem to us. But the one time we had messaged saying that he had heard we were good at ... something pinpointing one evening in particular. (No one that was there would have done that) and describing us both and then advised he had been stood next to mrs in the local the previous weekend .. it is slightly creepy when they don't say who they are.. This one finally did tell us who he was then showed as user no longer on site. Seemed he joined just to message us, rather than turning around in the local and saying hi. We don't care who knows but it's a bit weird when the odd one messages here knows who we are but won't say who they are. But that's what some people are like I suppose. We are having too much fun to play mind games with people like that.

We had this on another site we were on a long time ago and the person said he knew where I worked and that if he wasn't aloud to " fuck your missus" his words he would tell the owners what we did , basically tried to blackmail us .but as I dont give a flying fart who knows I told him to go ahead . Strangely never heard anything more from this sad individual

I've had messages where the person has claimed we have met before. I just ignore as I sometimes think it is just a ploy to get you speaking to them.

As to your situation, try not to let it get to you or force you off the site! Just ignore and block, and if it happens again, report to admin just in case they can do something about it x

We had something stupid and similar happen to us a few weeks ago. A "couple" inboxed us and said they'd like to meet. They hinted they knew we lived in the next road. Their profile disappeared soon after. Yes very creepy and not very nice.

We had someone contact me on fb last weekend. Without being honest and straight forward from the get go. For me he was a creep sending dick pics on fb trying to get lucky. ERM, no!

Blocked there, and blocked here when we recognised said dick pic on the 'looked at you' list.

I don't mind being contacted here. Because I'm aware of the nature of the message. Fb, however. No thanks. I don't know you, and I don't know what you want.

This. It is a sure fire way to grab someones attention and get them to engage you in a conversation. I wouldn't worry about it if it happens again - block them and continue on your fun n here without a second thought to it.

Yes I've had this and it is creepy, I took my town off my profile for that reason . I don't meet at home so people don't need to know . I didn't bother biting just asked who and Didn't reply,so made note in private notes.

To be honest, this seems to be a form of harrassment if they are playing games and trying to mess with your mind.

Whether they think it's funny or think they can get away with it just because it's an adult website, it should be frowned upon.

I'd certainly tackle any profile directly in the first instance and firmly inform them that this type of communication is not welcomed and refrain from this behaviour in future.

If they continue, then screenshots and report to admin and the police.
