New Club opening

I was lucky to get a tip off on the opening of Club Mystique in Gloucester and went to the opening night. I was so impressed by my first walk round that I immediately returned to reception and booked to stay as a Hotel Guest overnight. The venue is classy, the staff are friendly and professional the disco dance area is massive to suit the most extrovert but I am not agile enough to try out the pole. The play rooms are everything you could wish for clean, tidy, beautifully themed and decorated and delicious places to play well into the early hours. The bar area and buffet made the gaps between play and dancing ideal for making new friends with like minded people. I have since been back for the New Year events and the standard has been maintained. Give it a try I am so glad I did.

Hmmmm well we dont like going where the single men outnumber the couples.

Nothing worse than being followed round like ants, fair enough most do get the hint but there is always a few that continue to try.

That's probably right yes. But if they can do it, so can the others, because, although not single myself, I do think it's unfair that single guys get screwed before they walk through the door - then sometimes don't get screwed afterwards

Not sure if you misunderstood but on the occasions I was at Club Mystique there were only 2 single guys allowed in even if we tried we could not follow anyone around like ants. I agree with you there are some clubs where they allow too many single in and some guys spoil it for the rest of us.

Hi i organise and host the parties at Club Mystique and the reason many clubs charge high prices for single guys is to make lots of money by letting them in(hence followed round like ants) We believe in being fair and only let in 2 single guys per 50 couples,some parties we do not let any in at all.

To gain an invite as a single bloke they would need to be a fully paid up member of a swing site with at least 2 validations and a face pic,even after that they would be thoroughly vetted by myself via phone to ensure they are complete gentlemen,i hope this clears things a little for you...

We had 96 people on our opening night Dec 12th consisting of 47 couples and 2 single guys,its a huge place the danceroom alone has the capacity to hold 250 people,i hope you have the chance to come along and sample the delights one night... Claire XX

Maybe, some of the other clubs charge single males more to stop any idiot with a tenner in their pocket walking in.

You can out price the eejits. Not fair on the well behaved, well mannered and genuine single swingers but it does serve a purpose.

Personally I think the best way to sort of the wheat from the chaff is to have single guys attend an interview before they join a club, this works very well in many clubs in France and Belgium.

I am sure that many guys who are wanting to attend clubs would be only too happy to pop along for a simple interview with club organisers, there are some great single guys out there and it would be a better solution than attempting to out the cretins with over inflated entry price.

That said, if a bloke can pay £30 for a 15 min 'suck and fuck' at certain establishments, they will think twice about paying £50 membership and then £30/35 a time at a club where they are guaranteed NOTHING.....

I've seen male and female idiots in many clubsand in general, it's the wassocks who think that cus they pay to get into a swinging club they are entitled to a shag, that spoil it for others.

Mind you, I've seen pensioners between 70-90 (**shudder**) in clubs who save up to go........ (and I'm not joking)

I've been suggesting that to Chameleons for years........ unfortunately, with todays culture, those idiots would always find a way to bring racism or discrimination into talks and therefore, make it absolutely impossible to enforce that kind of selection in Britain.

Clubs do charge extortionately for single males. I suppose it's to cut down numbers, but a better way would be to have single men "pre-book" paying the full (resonable) charge up front and not allowing "on the night" single men callers.

What if we did a speed dating type event(say midweek?)for all couple members(free event) to speed date all the single guy applicants so that we can pick(overall) who is to attend for each month?

Is a club that charges more for single males "shafting" them.

If you think it is then you should never go to that club.

But think about it :-

+note most there are exceptions to every rule+

Most single guys go to a club within an hours drive, often to the clubs that "guarantee" girls willing to play ie paid to be there.

Most single guys don't pay babysitters

Most single guys don't have to buy drinks and food for two

Most single guys don't need new stockings or outfits to go to the club

Most single guys don't use hotel accommodation for an overnight stay.

On the other hand

Couples often travel great distances to go to clubs they prefer incurring extra fuel costs

Couples often need to stay overnight in guest houses or hotels (average cost £45)

Drinks and food prices double for two

Outfits to go ££££

Many couples have to pay babysitters.

OK so all in all a night at a club tends to cost a couple more than it does for a single guy, the money isn't all paid to the club but the fact is there.

Many nightclubs offer free entry to women to attract them to the venue, clubs are doing the same. half price drinks or even free drinks for ladies ?

If a guy doesn't care if the couples go or not I suggest visiting one of the "Greenhouses" around the country, these clubs charge single males a very small amount and since women are not allowed in they are not charged less.

But if you want a club where a lot of couples go then yes to an extent you have to subsidise them, hasn't it been that way since the first mixed venues opened.

The ONLY question is .... Single guys when you go to a club do you feel you get value for money, think about it and if the answer is no then don't go and voice the opinion your entitled to.

To a great extent Chameleons do interview new single guys applying to join.

You cannot join by post or phone.

You can turn up on the door but there is no guarantee you will get a membership, staff "vet" you, your appearance, physical appearance, attitude etc are taken into consideration and more are turned away than permitted to join.

You can apply by e-mail sending a photo, details of your swinging experience, membership of internet site details etc.

Now .... before you jump on it ..... physical appearance ... this doesn't mean you have to be good looking with a 6 pack, in fact at certain times of the year you wouldn't get a membership because of that.

The club try to keep a good mix of guys available, large, slim, young, middle aged, old, tall, short, muscular, goodlooking, average looking and so on.

So sometimes they are especially looking for larger guys to join, sometimes they want younger guys other times they want older guys, you get the idea.

That doesn't mean the mix will always be right when you go because who goes on the night is a tombola but generally speaking it works because most nights there is a good mix

Hi Honeypot and thanks for your feedback,we all (as you can see by this forum) want different things out of this lifestyle and that is why i believe there is plenty of room for many Clubs(the more choice the better!)

to cater for all,we have decided at Mystiques to hold mainly couples partys with limited single guys the 2nd and 4th Sat of each month..leaving us free at other times to slowly introduce other events such as sexy indulgent nights with Many select single males and also Fetish events etc.

Our aim at Mystiques is to bring the lifestyle into the 21st century,we are unjudgemental(as society should be!!)we do not discriminate against anyone and wish to cater for all...

So keep on posting everyone and eventually i will have an event to suit every one of you. Claire XX

Check out the website for the Private Club in Birmingham which shows which girls are working on the nights.

The Retro Club in Walsall also pays girls to be present during the opening times for the same purpose.

There are probably others that do the same.

I can only talk about those clubs and other clubs I have been to

Xstasia (West Brom) Chameleons (Darlaston) Utopia (formerly Cannock) Club F (London) Liberty Elite (Loughborough) Club Lick (London) are some that never pay girls to be there

Jed knows his stuff I agree and I'm probably naive, but to me the great thing with clubs is not knowing whats going to happen.

In other words having a night out where nothing is guaranteed. Wouldnt want to go anywhere where folks are paid.

my local club holds single guys nights on a wed and fri,

single girls get in free guys pay £18

the last time i was there were 20 guys in the club and 4 single ladies who spent half the night in the bar talking to each other and the rest as a 4 some together and were very hostile to any male there.

its the last time that i would go to any club.

will keep on aranging meets at my home

OK if your going to comment on my post please read it first, I did say that having a 6 pack or going regularly to the gym might prevent you getting membership at Chameleons, as and I will repeat myself, the club tries to get a good mix of single male members by giving preference to larger guys when there arent enough, younger guys when there arent enough, fitter guys when there arent enough, older guys when there arent enough ya get the idea

Outfits, it does depend where you go but in a club like Chameleons the dress code is Lingerie/sexy niteclub attire or the supplied towel for the girls and boxers/thong or the supplied towel for the guys.

So I am thinking that like me most guys have a pair of boxers or a thong (yuk to an old git like me in a thong) whereas the girls do like to dress up, call it sexist call it what you want but its a fact.

Obviously fancy dress/theme nights are different but thats not general day to day clubbing.

Some say I know what I am talking about, I dont know everything nobody does, I have worked at 2 swingers clubs and managed a guest house for people visiting swingers clubs for 7 years, I have managed a swingers hotel for 2 years and my views, facts and opinions come from the thousands of swingers that have chatted to me for the last 10 years.

Chameleons for instance on a Friday night gets around 15 single females, 60+ single guys and 70-80 couples, seasonal variations apply but that is a pretty good ratio for fun, remember some couples and females will be seeking 1-15 guys when they visit.

remember what I said - do you feel you get value for money whatever you pay

I did read your post and if you re-read mine you'll see question marks. That means I'm questioning your "facts" and logic.

I question the basis of your post. I know plenty of guys who travel distances to go to clubs so all the associated costs you lump in for couples and ignore for singles I dont feel is any way accurate.

I also asked the question whether couples were interviewed. That was why there was a question mark at the end of one of the sentences you quoted in your last post.

At the end of the day I feel I get value from the club I go to and thats why I go (so I agree with you).

What I feel is slightly comical is possible speed dating contests to determine who gets in (see the OP's possible suggestion halfway down the thread) and interviews on which people are judged by my appearance. These interviews being restricted to one class of customer.

Only my opinion but disagreeing with you doesnt mean I havent read your post. It means even though I respect your opinion I disagree with you.

Madchick - I could be wrong on this, but as far as I understand the law, a private members club can discriminate on any grounds that it sees fit.

OK I understand better now.

The facts about distances involving single male travel are based on (as I said earlier)

10 years of chatting to thousands of swingers.

7 years of running a guest house for swingers during which time only 4 single guys have booked to stay here compared with thousands of couples

The membership list at the clubs I have worked at.

Members area target marketing research for clubs I have worked at

As I said there are exceptions to every rule and some guys travel a long way to go to a club - but the fact is most dont

Couples are checked for compatibility at the clubs I have worked out but on a lesser scale, anyone who goes to chameleons for instance knows that there is a good mix of couples amongst the memberships, young, old, large, small etc, don't ask me why but it does seem to average out without assistance. There was a period at one of the clubs when there was an inappropriate number of larger couples and the restrictions used on single guys was put into force for short time until the balance was once again errrrr

balanced, the same would happen if too many younger couples joined in the coming months.

dunno the law, but nightclubs refuse entry on grounds that in other areas would be a case for court

ie dresscodes many places have dresscodes, nightclubs also bar entry if they feel you have had to much to drink, a group of males, or simply because your face doesnt fit or your not on the VIP/guest list

The Disability Discrimination Act applies to private clubs with over 25 members but they have the usual cop out excuses about what is 'reasonable' and the resources of the club.
