Is it worth a responce?

I just sat and typed a message out, and as I was sending it thought "Why on Earth did I just waste 3 minutes of my life on that?".

We probably have too many words on our profile, accepted, but we feel it gives a reasonable representation of us and what we're looking for.

I've mentioned on here before that we're always getting Friends Invites arriving in our Inbox from people who just want to perv on our Private gallery. Our own view is that if they were for anyone to see they'd be on the public gallery - your milage may vary, but we do ask on our profile not to get Invites from people we don't know.

We've tried all sorts of wording to save us time from this, and all the other tick-list items we want.

Tonight, I've just written a message to a Couple on here who sent us a Friends Invite out of the blue. The only logic test from our profile that they didn't fail was that they didn't smoke.

Everything else about them was miles from what we say we want. They sent us the Friends Invite for a start. It annoys me (Ian) but it really winds up Grace. Their profile was a one liner "We're married but not to each other so discretion a must" - we say we don't meet people playing without partner's consent...

Ideally, I'd like all these people to just fuck off.

Instead, for some reason I thought that writing them a message telling them exactly why I was rejecting their Friends Invite was a good idea. I actually think I had a rant at them, but so what, they deserved it.

What a waste of my time though!

Does anyone else do this too, or is this just a symptom of me being up long past my bed time?

EDIT: I spelled the bloody thread title wrong so I may have just answered my own question there!

Know matter what you put on your profile you will always get people who will just look at your pic's then send you a wink or an invite.

In a word.......no.

When we first started using these sites I used to wind myself up if people asked for things outside our preferences or not matching our profile....but quickly learned it really isn't worth it.

So now we either ignore or just say no thanks.....less hassle that way

I kinda fear that no-one will read to the end of anything that long that I write. I tend to cure insomnia that way (but not on myself apparently).

Maybe a sneaky wee password is a good idea though.

I'll shameless steal that idea if you don't mind.

I suspect that you're all correct. I was of that opinion myself actually... but had a weak moment and blasted someone with a textual torrent.

Oh well, best not lose any sleep over it

Feel free to create a password, as stated it works for us, any emails we receive without the password in the subject field get deleted we're not interested, having a password does help to out the time-wasters, it also makes replying to those that have read our profile much more interesting as we know, having quoted the password, were what there looking for.

When I first started using sites to meet people it used to frustrate me as I'd taken the time to write a full profile hoping to separate the wheat from the chaff. I used to respond with 'what part of XXXX didnt you get?' Now I just delete without reading and block if the write again. That said every now and then I do send a sharp message back, especially if the writer is from the NE or NW cant travel or accommodate!!! Easiest thing is delete, block and get on with your life!

OP, why are you getting your knickers in a twist over this ?

Just ignore them, delete them, block them if you feel strongly, but most of all, move on and stop complaining.

Not so hard to do is it ?

Sometimes its just best to delete as saying anything negative gets people ranting. even a no thanks makes some people nasty.

Can we just say how much we agree with you and how annoying it can be. We get the same few people who put a wink or friend request in everyday but never actually send a message. If they want to see the pictures just ask or send a message if they are that bothered.

Now I just block and delete the wink or request as it is just not worth wasting time over, and you can spend more time looking at people who would consider meeting with

I don't actually mind winks as a quick way of showing interest and i usually respond positively if we're interested in them or delete if we're not, it's not a problem, very rarely send a negative response to a wink but just had to earlier! Z
