Warhammer, D&D, Warmachine, Star Wars Legion, MtG, Moonstone, Malifaux, Black Seas... That's without even starting on being a computer nerd to.

Played quite a few RPGs in my time. I mostly kept coming back to D&D.

OP you said you're not so into the fantasy setting and mentioned shadowrun. My experience is pretty out of date so it might have changed mechanics-wise. It's a fantasy-cyberpunk mash-up and is quite a fun setting. The mechanics when I played were you get more dice, rather than more plusses, which leads to buckets of dice .

I also loved Paranoia - possibly the funnest RPG ever bit don't expect your character to live long. You get six clones per adventure and you're doing well if one survives. You might end up equipped with a nuclear hand grenade by your loving computer .

I also played the star wars RPG, which was a fun setting, but not enough to talk much about it.

"Paranoia is amazing and so random it's great,

"

It has some great devices to increase narrative (and role-playing) tension:

* It is illegal and punishable by death to be a mutant. Every character has a mutant power.

* It is illegal and punishable by death to be a member of certain secret societies. Every character is a member of one of them.

* All of the secret societies are opposed to each other. Every character has a secret mission that involves working against at least one other character.

* The computer, which runs the underground city you all live in, is bat-shit insane with whimsically deadly effect.

* Due to said bat-shit crazy computer and insane bureaucracy, your mission probably requires security clearance that you don't have.

* Knowledge of the outside world is forbidden and punishable by death. Your character probably doesn't have any, but you, the player, do. Better be careful with your role-playing.

Gave up on Warhammer a little with so many editions released quite quickly. Necron and orc army still but no idea of the rules now.

Loooove DnD. Got a regular group playing and having our first live meet in September.

Me and misses are massive boatdgame players.

Love Spirit Ilsand, Pandemic, Living Forest, MtG, Ticket to Ride, but love lots of different board and card games.

Pub games too.

Magic the Gathering player, have about 20 Commander decks.

Just getting back into Warhammer via The Old World, but used to do 40k, Hero Quest, Space Hulk, Space Crusade and Gorkamorka.

Huge tabletop games collection, with Arkham Horror, Marvel Champions, Firefly, Star Trek Ascendancy and Marvel Legendary being highlights.

DnD DM and been playing TTRPGs since teenage years.

Massive Final Fantasy nerd and still have every single game in the series.

Ah the Judge Dredd rpg - I'd forgotten about that one. Riding around on our lawmasters catching perps. Thinking up cheesy one liners when we caught them and were on to sentencing (this was a mandatory part of our role-play).

We also briefly played the star trek RPG where we had a rule that every time the ship was damaged, we had to hang on to the table and lurch sideways.

Too many years ago now it was the best game to run at Uni when the new year started to get all the new people to have a big laugh and get to know each other.

I liked making the players put their name and clone number on a post-it which they stuck to their top and when it inevitably fell off I would pass a pre-prepared note to another player reminding them that proper ID should be worn at all times. Cue the las-pistols.

"It's not a hobbie but I'm a massive Trekkie

You could easily turn it into one; it's not like there aren't a bunch of great Trek tabletop games/RPGs.

Try:

ST Away Missions: a miniatures game where you complete missions against rival teams (similar to Warhammer Underworlds for those who've played it)

ST Ascendancy: A proper Star Trek 4X board game; eXplore the galaxy, eXpand by colonising planets, eXploit resources to develop technologies and build fleets to exXterminate your foes. Brilliant.

ST Fleet Captains: A bit hard to find these days (out of print, especially hard finding the Romulan expansion), but a great game where you have a small fleet of ships to control and explore a sector while completing missions to score victory points.

There's also a ST TCG/CCG or similar dropping in December; think it's called Universus...

We're both historical reenactors, although I'm the history buff and Mrs Misfit in it mainly for the drinking, fighting (she likes to rack some good bruses) and looking smoking hot as a lady at night.

Also I have my model railway and general tinkering with old electronics in the garage which feeds my nerd need and keeps me busy. Mrs Misfit loves her books and craft

Settlers is fun, but there are so many other great games that you need to try...

I recommend Power Grid or Kingdom builder as being similar to Catan while introducing new/different mechanics.

I also recommend Takenoko or Carcassonne.

"Only so called nerdy hobby I have is Settlers of Caran and probably more Of USA hobby of playing cards and dominoes which people don't really do here.

Settlers is fun, but there are so many other great games that you need to try...

I recommend Power Grid or Kingdom builder as being similar to Catan while introducing new/different mechanics.

I also recommend Takenoko or Carcassonne."

Second these recommendations!! Power grid is easy to pick up, although I found the rule book to be very back to front while reading it. Takenoko is so adorably cute, it has pandas!! It's also great and easy to pick up, but mostly cute. Can I also add in splendor to the recommendations

Not into playing it but we have a 3d printing business that does scenery and terrain for table top gaming.

Even at my age, I'd love to have a go at D&D. My other hobbies aren't so nerdy, well I don't think they are. I skateboard, longboard, BMX and race radio controlled bangers/F1.

I will admit i am a bit of a turbo geek,

Love PC gaming, 40k and do 3d print my own stuff too.

Always wanted to get involved with D&D but never found a group to take on a new player

Played Battletech RP online

Currently going through a multiplayer game of Baldurs Gate 3 which is a fantastic game to play with friends, turn based RPG.

"Gave up on Warhammer a little with so many editions released quite quickly.

Hi all!"

They have replaced the entire Space marines range with brand new troop choices.
