Creepy guys ...why?

We have had messages recently and previously claiming they know who we are, we're not shy, so clearly that doesn't bother us but the guy always comes across as really creepy and it's left me wondering what they get out of it

We would never meet someone who initiated a conversation this way, would anyone?

It's certainly a strange line of approach; maybe they get a kick out of putting people on the back foot. We'd certainly not entertain meeting anyone coming at us in that manner.

I had one once saying i know you, you are xx from yy and i saw you in ww pub. I just said yes that's me, come say hi next time you see me there - they didn't know me, my profile lives in a different place to me... But i felt it was easier to diffuse

Yeah I had one a while ago full first naming me. No one ever calls me my full first name and with the correct spelling too so it freaked me out a bit!

Wasn’t sure what to do at first but didn’t allow it to change the way we do anything.

Cracks me up every time, they always give such a specific date/time/supermarket/place of work they think they saw me/us at, and they're always dead wrong crazy to think they try and identify people by their bare arses!

There's two in my area who do this.

One sets up a new profile every now and then and names me as someone else- a married gay lad who he's had meets with. He gives the lad's full name and pretty much threatens to contact his husband which will be a shame because I'm not him...

The other knows my full name- also adds and removes profiles all the time and has taken to naming me in his messages so I just blank him in the hopes he'll give up as he has no intention of giving any info about himself and is always on a blank profile.

Lots of strange people about.

I think it varies who says it and how it's been said

I remember a woman who I chatted with way back mentioned she knew of me which then got me thinking how/where then she pointed out she worked in my local shop obviously I didn't recognise her but I saw the funny side of things

A general scan through some of the forum posts (let alone private messages) will confirm that there's an enormous amount of creepy fckrs on here. That doesn't excuse it, but it shouldn't come as a surprise sadly.

I've experienced this. What they do is they scrape information from your updates, forum posts if applicable, profile text if applicable, posted meets etc, & then try to gaslight you further down the line.

I had some faceless profile saying they met me at a club I posted a meet for, I asked him when we met & he responded with a conveniently vague time frame, then I asked him to confirm the details of our interaction, which he did.

The only problem was everything he was confirming & saying "yes I remember we did that" was complete bullshit that I was making up on the spot. This is how I usually catch these people out.

Rubbish. I've spoke to guys on here I found very attractive.

As conversation progressed they turned out to be creepy bastards. They were no longer attractive.

We entirely agree being a creep isn't down to looks it's down to the way you interact with people and even if you were the most attractive person in the world saying I know who you are without saying who you are and where you know us from is creepy and we would never meet
