Do you read verifications?

Off the back of the thread about who reads profiles I thought I'd enquire who reads verifications. Have read lots of opinions on whether they are a good thing or not and even that it can be off-putting to see so many.

But how many of you lovely folks read them?

I do & I'll also peek at the people who left them, just to get an idea of the type of people they meet etc.

They'd only form part of a decision to meet though,as they're v subjective.

I have a quick glance. Most are pretty standard, but the odd one is well-written and adds allure or intrigue. I think they bear some reflection of the person under review. And other reasons given by previous posters.

Yes, every profile I read I'll have a look through the verifications to get an idea of who they meet and if I'm nothing like those people that they have been meeting I won't waist there or my time messaging them.

Golden rule for us is follow the verification trail if it's a closed loop of just a few profiles verifying each other that's a red flag.

If the verifications come from other well verified users, mention attending and meeting in clubs, clubs veris etc and those who have left theveris have veris from a range of different established people aswell then that's an excellent sign.

For us that's the point of verifications.

"I read them (Elle) I must admit those with loads and loads of verifications puts me off. "

How many is loads?

You have 1 veri in 4 weeks on fab so at that meet rate if your account was say 5 years old (many are much older) that would work out at 65 veris. Would 65 veris be to much? (Bear in mind that's someone meeting as frequently as you do they have just been here longer).

Funny subject seeing lots of verifications. When we started out on this journey we wanted to know so much about everything to try and avoid the pitfalls. We decided we'd do as many organised socials as we could. Have you seen the amount of verifications that can mount up by just chatting and having a drink with people at these socials? We are very out going people and will chat to anyone. One night at an organised social can bring in 10 or 20 verifications on one night and if you are the organiser then 10 or 20 are just a drop in the ocean, that doesn't even take into account of how long someone has had their profile. The amount of verifications are just a number and no reflection at all

We do read other people's verifications

Veris aren't the be all and end all, but they are a great way to spot what could be classed as 'dubious' profiles. We've seen some recently that have completely put us off making contact because the veri trail made no sens.

One single male profile was verified by just one single female, yet when we viewed her profile she only had one veri from a couple and a veri summary stating she only had one verification in total from one couple. Something that didn't add up at all. On checking the couples profile there was one line of text, no photos and they lived 200 miles north of her. And no visible veris or summary.

It may sound to some that considering the opinions of others when planning meets is a tad odd. I'd agree completely. They're just personal views and everyone's opinion of someone else may be different.

But purely as a means of helping decide on the likelihood that someone is who they claim, is likely to actually be genuinely interested in meeting and is worth putting the effort in of making first contact? Veris are very useful indeed.

"

Closed meet veris are possible.

We had a chat with a ‘couple’ who had one meet veri from a male profile and one from a female profile.

The chap had a cam veri from an established profile.

Going by the dates he got the cam veri then verified the couple and female. The female then verified the couple as well.

Now, admittedly the same spelling error on the veris and profiles was the final clincher, but it was a very closed loop of actual meet veris.

Ok. But he did manage to cam with an established couple, who presumably felt comfortable verifying that he's real...

Do people think that a verification from meeting should only be possible after receiving a verification from meeting?

In that circumstance though he was the only one who was real. He used the cam veri to make the female and couple profiles look legit with reciprocal (fake) meet veris.

It allowed that loop to happen. That just means it’s something we look carefully for now. We’ve picked up on it a few times since then.

Yes I read veris if they are shown on someone's profile I'll also read veris the person has given. In saying that someone's veris won't entice me to meet anyone I take them with a pinch of salt and if anything sometimes they will make me decide not to meet someone if I see they are veried by someone who loves the drama of here.

Rochdale/Manchester/Blackpool and were ever the mood takes me

"I read them (Elle) I must admit those with loads and loads of verifications puts me off.

We do read other people's verifications "

this entirely I've had people who won't play because of mine although most of them have been through organising partys over the years in different clubs.

I always read veris it's also a good way of letting you know what your in for or which buttons to press

I read them... To see if what kind of person they are, patterns emerge through verifications.

The Side of the Mersey

I do for a couple of reasons.

Some that turn me on

Some just to get an idea of the people I’m messaging

Some to get an idea of the people they usually meet to save myself from messaging if I won’t be their type.

Doesn't everyone read them? And follow the paper-trail of people too? I thought that was one of the reasons they exist.

I don't. They are worthless and just a negative. I prefer to see no veris on profiles.

No they're not worthless - they show you who the people you're talking to have met = worthwhile.

People can hide veris.

People can meet people not on Fab.

Worthless.

Absolutely we do. Then we check out the people who gave them and read theirs too. No better way to determine standards and authenticity

What is this "meeting" of which you speak?
