I think it depends on the size and shape of the gag. I've gagged subs but never tried it myself as I know I would gip. I can't even wear a scarf too tight without gipping.

Gags are designed to keep a mouth in an open shape. How large the gag is will create the mouth gape and comfort level.

Some gags can only be worn for short periods of time, others hours.

If bound and gagged supervision is always best for safety.

Any gag can induce reflux, vomiting. Blocked air supplies can turn nasty without quick release form helping hands.

I prefer silicone balls with drilled air holes and a silicone bite going from the ball to the strap so that it doesn’t rub at the corner of the mouth.

We have one but we keep forgetting to use it during sex. We bought it as it looked hot and something fun to try while fucking! Bound and gagged I’m assuming is the appeal!

I've just got one haven't used it yet, but it's coming out this week but I will suggest picking one that is soft snd the bit that goes on the corner of ur mouth is soft and round the leather ones dig in and are a bit uncomfortable if that makes sense

I've found they're about the look, not actually effectiveness. With any play at all in the strap, the gaggee can push it out with their tongue, teeth and lips. The only way to make it actually work is to have a full head harness, and of course then you're into the big bucks.

If you genuinely want to gag someone so they can't move it, a bit gag is the way to go. Because it's rigid, the leverage is different and it can't be pushed out. It's also possible to breath around it, which makes it generally safer.

You could also consider dildo/cock gags. Those obviously can't be pushed out because there's a dildo going back into the mouth over the tongue. Good for a more humiliating gag experience.

Oh, and don't expect a gag to keep anyone quiet. It just stops whatever they try to say from being intelligible.
