What is it with periods. Every time I want to go to an event, the bloody thing appears!

Do any fems still go and what do they end up doing all night?!? Is 'being on' a deal breaker or not?

It depends, if I felt ill or had bad cramps or something then I wouldn't go (and that's what usually happens) otherwise I'd get myself out of the house and just go and socialize.

So, we had a hot night planned a few weeks ago and an impending ‘P’.

Reading around, we discovered that a sudden large dose of ibuprofen in a day can delay it - and it did! Google it, it is a technique used by doctors.

Obviously follow health advice etc.

That'll be the progesterone only pill. Unfortunately one of the side effects is often a decrease in libido.

In the last 3 years or so, my cycles are very precise and predictable, so I can plan accordingly...

I had the Mirena coil for 7 years and I still had periods. And no libido! but I know I am the exception rather than the rule...

I use a menstrual cycle tracking app called Clue- it is very helpful! There are more out there!

My FWB adores period sex so we actively look to meet when I’m on, haha but I wouldn’t feel comfortable going to a club or so...

If they are fairly regular, you can take norethisterone for a few days before your period is due, and delay it up to 2 weeks.

Or I use flexfits which are a cap you can use and have sex with it in place. They catch all the blood s it's not obvious you are on. Practise first though, as they can be tricky to place right

Never used beppy sponges but heard they are good

While some might find it a no no a woman being on her period doesn't pose a problem for me. If it was someone I had already established a connection with I'd be happy to play as I'd feel it was just a natural part of her and not something to be 'disgusted' or put off by. I'd most certainly want to be caring and aware of her comfort, but also look to instinctively get a feel for how she felt about it. I figure if a woman is prepared to be that intimate with me then I'd want her to feel special too.

I just take 3 standard ibuprofen about 8 hours before I want to play. Can use it at any point during your period. It doesn't work for everyone tho..so worth a dry (lol!) run first

Dead right matey. And it seems to be a bit of a cultural thing too tho. I was "friendly" with a french lady many, many years ago. For her, and hence me, it was indeed just part of her, and her life, and was no big deal and didn't interfere with her enjoyment of sex in any way.

British women (in my desperately limited experience) have seemed generally much less comfortable with continuing activities at these times. I can't imagine there are any biological differences to account for that, just cultural. What they are used to, I guess.

Aw man. This is the bane of my life sometimes!

Mine are pretty regular so I can plan around them but it used to seem everytime I made plans to go to a party or a club it would be the week before or after it was due. Also going on holiday is a nightmare if I go for longer than 2 weeks it always arrives while I'm away. And the holiday is usually to GC where we swing!

I also WON'T have a meet while its here. Go to a club and be social yes, but not physical play. I don't even do it with my boyfriend while LadyTime is here! And I trust him with my life. Lol.

I tried a Beppy sponge with the Mr - whether it was because he knew I’d placed one in so it was a psychological thing or whether he’s blessed with a 7-8 inch cock that is super sensitive, he said he could feel it rubbing against him So I would trial using them and see how you get on! I’m always super horny when on as Mother Nature can be cruel like that!

I previously had the non-hormonal coil which drove me bonkers with heavy, long periods lasting 11 days - after 18mths I got it swapped for the hormonal coil. Now I’m only on for 5 days max each month and I’m very light. Every woman’s body is different x

Thank you so much - it's just a reflection of how I feel about it. I think it's potentially a beautiful and intimate thing. As a man I'd be very flattered that a wan felt she could share that with me and feel OK about it. I'd certainly do all I could to ensure she did. I can almost guarantee it was psychological.

I (in a very past life) worked in a brothel. I had all manner of sizes of guys (the size queen in me misses some of the very very well endowed clients), and could see upto 20 guys in a shift (more if it was an orgy day). Never had a single client ever realise.

Never tell a new long term partner at first either.

Oh, Actually if they were the dry ones that could possibly be it, they do dry ones and wet ones. It's not really wet wet, they just have a little lube on them, helps you put them in easier, but dry ones do mean internally you stay dryer for longer than you normally would, so unless you've had loads of foreplay that could be why he felt it.

Personally it's a benefit to me as PIV isnt my favourite thing.

Plenty of other more fun things like BJs, anal, roleplay, and BDSM. Lovely to get creative and still have a great (or even better) time.

So I'd still play but just tell them that PIV isn't on the cards that week.

Don't get me wrong, PIV is nice but it's just... Nice. Really wouldn't miss it.

Ah you see periods are when I'm least likely to play BDSM wise. My pain threshold drops and I'm less likely to enjoy it and fly, I'm more likely to want to rip of the throat of who ever is hurting me....

You know loads of people are happy to play if you're bleeding. As long as people wear protection I don't think it's much of an issue. Also there's a subscription service for what are like the cups for periods only they sit just outside your cervix and guys don't know you have them in (unless they put their fingers in) and you can keep them in for 12 hours and they block any liquid from coming out. I suppose like a sponge. You can do normal sexual activity. The company is called flex. It's basically a ring with some material stuff in to catch it. I'm not explaining it well. Anyway I use those now and don't say... Shhhhh! No one has noticed yet.

Ladies with the Mirena coil, did it have any side effects?

"Ladies with the Mirena coil, did it have any side effects? "

At first it definitely affected my mood in a bad way, and I wanted to rip my tits off at certain times of the month due to the pain and swelling in them. But it’s settled down a bit more now for me personally. That’s after having it fitted in July x

Or I use flexfits which are a cap you can use and have sex with it in place. They catch all the blood s it's not obvious you are on. Practise first though, as they can be tricky to place right

Never used beppy sponges but heard they are good"

Do the "flexfits" work with a condom or would they rub and move/break?

They are fine with condoms. The company says they are compatible and I never had any problems.

I used the ibuprofen trick to delay my period for a day... didn’t really think it would work. IT HAS.

Now I don’t know if I’ll have it by tomorrow, haha

"Ladies with the Mirena coil, did it have any side effects? "

I put on a bit of weight but not masses.

For me it was the spotting and sometimes bleeding after sex. They discovered though that was down to cervical scarring. I stuck with it though and all fine now. I'm actually overdue for getting it changed but I'm scarred there will be a repeat of those previous issues. My GP has advised that although they say 5 years it's actually up to 10. I'm not getting periods so it's still doing its job.

Sadly because of my blood pressure issues I can't use the pill etc.

I have some tablets called Norethisterone that delay your period. So I take these if we have a playdate and my period is due.

That'll be the progesterone only pill. Unfortunately one of the side effects is often a decrease in libido. "

Hasn't decreased mine, lol

I couldn't have sex for years due to my periods, I bled almost constantly. I finally managed to convince a consultant to give me a hysterectomy after begging for more than 10 years.

Best thing I ever did, I'm freeeeeee

Norethisterone works by giving you the same hormones you'd have when you are pregnant...this have me what was basically morning sickness. I was prescribed it to stop my periods for a holiday..but spent the time feeling sick.

I've had a Mirena coil for 7 years now...few days cramping at start and when it was replaced...periods have completely stopped

"What is it with periods. Every time I want to go to an event, the bloody thing appears!

Do any fems still go and what do they end up doing all night?!? Is 'being on' a deal breaker or not?

While some might find it a no no a woman being on her period doesn't pose a problem for me. If it was someone I had already established a connection with I'd be happy to play as I'd feel it was just a natural part of her and not something to be 'disgusted' or put off by. I'd most certainly want to be caring and aware of her comfort, but also look to instinctively get a feel for how she felt about it. I figure if a woman is prepared to be that intimate with me then I'd want her to feel special too.

What they are used to, I guess."

Bang on guys...

Not all us males mind..and clingfilm can come in handy ..when wanting to sstimulate clit with tongue. .lol

Lol did I go too far..

"These are all good ideas...

Plus I do love the voyeur thang! Thanks for the imput people x

So, we had a hot night planned a few weeks ago and an impending ‘P’.

Reading around, we discovered that a sudden large dose of ibuprofen in a day can delay it - and it did! Google it, it is a technique used by doctors.

Obviously follow health advice etc.

I've used this trick on quite a few occasions.

X

Just watch taking ibuprofen as it can cause problems with stomach ulcers and tears. If you are prone to this already it is possibly not for you. I also always advise to take Ibruprofen with food now as so many people have problems after repeated use of it for headaches etc much better to grab a paracetamol xxx"

Also not recommended for asthmatics - I lie all the time. I have mild asthma - no inhaler. I don’t like taking anadin and prefer ibruprofen and if I buy the pharmacy always said do you have asthma

I tried one of the Beppy sponges last night and it was great- bit fiddly getting it into exactly the right place but worked really well.

Sadly the meet was a bit of a disaster so only my rabbit got the benefit of it, but I was really impressed with it!

Like all medication, what suits one person doesn't suit another. I had the mirena fitted and my body didn't like it at all. Had to have it removed after perservering with it for 11 months.

Good news it works for you
