Is there any advice or support on here for guys on how to take a photo of themselves? I do not mean dick pics. Asking for a regular face pic and you get back a mix of covicts, creepy stalkers and seriously bad hangovers, not one is cracking a hint of a smile.

This is not the passport office it is a happy place.

I only ask because it is really hard to judge how you guy look or if you are really bad at taking photos

The reason you love our girlie photos is that we spend an hour getting ready, take at least twenty shots and post the best one. And those pics are hot I have personally fabbed a lot of them.

So can we please get some advice out there for the guys on how to take pics. It would definitely help sell their profile C x

I have 15 photos of which only 1 is public because I am paranoid about family/friends and work seeing me on here but I really appreciate this thread and could do with some pointers.

I have a few face photos, smart & suited, torso and boxers/lower half photos. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hold your phone/camera slightly above head height and look up and smile. That one works for me. So many take pics from below and some work, a lot don't x

This post made me chuckle a bit. On the one hand you have the honest "creepy" looking male photos and on the otherhand you have the heavily filtered female photos that look nothing like the actual person.

To be honest I feel pretty silly taking multiple pictures trying to get the right profile and angles and in the end just give up.

Just throwing in my 5 cents

I don't think mines too bad to be fair, just make a but of effort with what you're wearing, do your hair and smile, it's not hard to do.

Totally agree with heavily filtered shots they are cheating. But knowing how to angle your face a little better, having light at a certain angle can make all the difference. There may be other changes that people know of when taking male profile pictures that I am unaware of

You’re quite right. I just point, shoot and hope. A bit like my approach to sex. Guidance would be greatly appreciated

I don't think it's that hard to be fair. Some people just don't put any effort or thought into it.

Great question. Please check my profile pics and let me know how I can improve. If anyone wants to check my friend pics then just let me know.

For some reason I feel like selfies turn out better when taken on snapchat lol

As above; plenty of light, hold the camera slightly above yourself and smile

Take a few (there's bound to be some duffers), pick your favourite and you're all good!

I like to try and post what I like to think are slightly different photos, not always successfully!

I'll put some thought into what I'm going to do, whether I'm going to use a prop or what sort of mood I want to go for. Often I'll take a series of shots and post none.

I'm a bit of a filter fan, as you'll quickly notice. Just a little help from others.

Perhaps note some pics you think are cool and put your own twist on it.

Having said all that, my pics are rarely fabbed, so what do I know!

It's bloody difficult to get a decent photo with a phone without some serious practice. I've done a lot of photography but just tried to get my.calves and arse of which i am quite proud but the perspective makes me look like a beach ball on tooth picks. I'm going to ask a friend to get decent pics!

Just take them from different angles, backgrounds and levels of dress, smiling and not. Too many men have multiple pics on their profiles in same pose. I have got a fair few Fabs on my pics so assume the variety helps, many have been from woman/ TS and not just men, with straight males in mind who may be reading.

South Wales: Newport, Chepstow

Had a lot of "face pics" sent to me of them 5 miles from the camera in a dark room. Couldn't even tell their body shape, never mind what their face was like!

And a smile really does go a long way.

Prop your phone up and use the 10-second timer on the camera so you can see what you're doing and don't have to twist into odd angles!

I just love to see a smile in a face picture. Although mine are looking a bit moody now I think about it. Maybe I need to take my own advice.

I’m the most un photogenic person. I’ve no idea what my best angle is. Sometimes I look like a loon and sometimes I look less of a loon but only slightly lol. The camera just likes some people and not others i guess

I disagree. I think the camera likes you.

Reviving this thread but from a slightly different angle - assuming all the advice before (prep, angles, multiple shots, etc.) what do women like to see in mens photos? Lingerie is often flattering and hot for women but guys only seem to have dressed, topless, boxers etc., or naked - and certainly can’t pull off the same angles/poses that women can (or can they??).

Are there any things that women like that I’m just not thinking creatively enough about (not giving it all away, filtered, unfiltered, full body, select closeups - assuming not dick pics on this one!)?

Hopefully you can help some of us guys raise the standard a little!

We see it as a good filter for not meeting. Anyone that can’t take a decent photo of themselves is clearly not gonna be exciting in person or in bed.

I think it's much more natural for women as they have grown up tending to taking a whole load of selfies... For most blokes I imagine this wasnt the case.

It's like everything alien. Typically shite at it first.

By far the best pictures are going to be ones which other people have taken of you, preferably with a half decent camera and well composed and lit.

Even better if you get on well with the photographer and can manage a smile for them (see my profile picture, for example).

All that selfies do on here is announce to all users that you apparently don't have any friends or else that you are doing this behind someone's back furtively. Neither impression is a good one to create.

Is it any wonder we get so many 'I don't seem to be getting any meets' threads?

I hope some of the guys who message me read this post!

Why is it so many guys go for the angry face, with a clenched fist like they're just about to go into a boxing match?!

I mean I do like a bit of the bad boy look, but looking like a psychopath doesn't make me want to be alone with you

*before I get jumped on, I'm not generalising all male profiles. Lots of guys have really great photos

This made me laugh, thank you!

In terms of photos I think it's pretty unfair to just single out guys when they already have enough issues meeting women. Everyone likes to take a good photo but I'd prefer one that's a true reflection of what someone looks like rather than most of the pics that you see on here which is completely different to what people actually look like.

It's also much harder for guys considering they don't have lingerie or anything that can particularly enhance their photos.

Hi

Spotted this thread and couldn’t resist. When I joined “this is gonna sound weird I know” I treated the photos like a night out. Basically wanted to look my absolute best / best underwear / bought a ring light “sad I know but if something is worth doing, worth doing properly” as well as a selfie stick, remarkably useful for stuff like this. However I may have taken it too far and people are now put off by my photos
