I was thinking my gorgeous strap on (double ended)

It will hopefully have its first outing today if I get lucky and I was curious what both the etiquette and general common sense was?

It's wise to use condoms if you are sharing .. I've been with ladies in the club's and they always put a clean one on when sharing toys ..It makes perfect sense to reduce any risks .Better to be safe than sorry

No, we've had our double-ender passed around at parties with just a paper handkerchief wipe between users (FF play). Women who wouldn't fuck without a condom used it uncovered. Same with dildoes and vibrators.

I use condoms on my silicone toys. Since I noticed they absorb dyes from an array of objects. Can you imagine how healthy your toy is really?

Silicone toys absorb everything. Leave it in a bowl of water over night you'll see how much it absorbs. It will dry out though don't worry.

I also used to find silicone irritates too requiring more lube. Condom solves that issue.

If you're using toys on others use condoms on them.

My helpful trick for silicone toys too is put them individually in Ziploc bags when they have been washed and dried. Keeps them dirt and fuzz free and no issue of them touching another silicone toy. Jelly toys are especially an issue due to interaction between different silicone.
