Who'd define what a time waster was? It'd be open to abuse.

I get it and I would love a fake/delete button but it would just get abused. The current system is not ideal.

But it works 98% of the time which is better than what would result from adding such a button

But I get the frustration I truly do.

U could have a system where you both click a button in a message that confirms both of you have arranged to meet each other. You would both then have an option later to then confirm if they were a show or a no show.

After someone got a number of no shows, this would be shown on Thier profile as a no shower and any people they marked as no shows would be cleared to reduce abuse of the system. You could also have a positive show icon for people who showed up.

So, let’s say we meet, we don’t get on & I think you’re rude. What’s to stop me selecting ‘no show’ because I didn’t like you?

It’s too open to abuse.

You think someone is fake or time wasting, report them & move on.

I did cover that. By saying it would only show after a number of no shows, so a one off wouldn't show up. But if it happens regularly then it would. Also once you do get flagged your previous no shows you have flagged up for others would be ignored. So unless you were really unlucky its more than likely the people trying to abuse the system will be flagged first

And someone takes a dislike to you and contacts their friends. Over the course of two weeks you get 6 no shows and Boom.. you are publicly black listed, by your ex boyfriend and his mates or similar.

I think reporting personally, admin can deal with repeat offenders already .

Anyone getting rejected could use it, it would be open to abuse by every loser on the site, genuine people could suffer from it.

The site builds up information about users, including where they are, communication etc and they investigate all reports from other users. They will know far more than we do.

If you have suspicions or knowledge, report it and block the user, so that you don't view them again.

To answer the op though, it would be open to too much abuse and any complex system would be a nightmare to police, lets face it the pic checking occasionally gets it wrong allowing "not allowed" subjects through, think what this would involve. The block and report system seems to work reasonable and no system would get around the delete and create a new account lot! which a lot of timewasters do belong to.

Actually the opposite. I wrote about the fact that others display some and not all of them leading me to believe that they've had verifications that don't show them in a very good light because why else would you hide some and not all of them?

our reasoning for displaying NO verifications is we have, in the past, had verifiers contacted and questioned, we believe what we do is between the participants. showing we have verifications should be enough to say we are genuine

Ok, I'll break down my logic.

People with fake accounts create multiple other accounts. Those accounts verify each other as wonderful and genuine. They put these on display.

The others that they do not wish to display from genuine people calling them out on their shit don't get displayed for that reason.

The numbers on the profile for example say say verified by 10 but when you check verifications there's only 3?

Genuine people either chose to display or not display. Yes it's not full proof as there may be instances where some don't want a certain verification for whatever reason. But I take it as a red flag to a profile.

Still a little shady if there's a shed load missing and only a couple on there?

I played chase the verification before on a couple of people and it led to seeing that the only verifications showing were each other's.

It takes a little time but you can normally learn to spot the total fakes, the dreamers, and the keyboard wankers.

The ones that are harder to see are those who are genuine to some extent, who have had meets in the past, but are just unreliable about keeping to arrangements and don't confirm, or stop talking halfway through making arrangements, or who cancel at short notice if something else comes up.

Those are the ones who really bug me.

I agree

If nothing else, it helps people to remember what they have agreed to, if such meet arrangements are privately displayed on our pages for us.

I've suggested it before.

Date, time, outline or definite venue and how each side will communicate on the day would be good.

It may be that fab doesn't want to appear too involved with people's private meetings, for some reason. Such a feature is included on other sites and does help the site too, such as when receiving reports of no-shows.

If I have more than one veri from the same person, I’ll only display the more recent one. I also don’t display older ones, plus ones from site leavers (I get a lot of that, because newbies attend my events, leave a veri & then decide Fab isn't for them)

I’ve probaly got 25% of my veri’s not visible.

There could be valid reasons - but if you’re comfortable with it as a filter of sorts, why not!

Exactly

I'd say a time waster is someone who arranges to meet and then doesn't show up and doesn't let you know in advance.

Others will tell you a time waster Is someone who changes their mind about meeting or doesn't want to dirty chat etc.

You do know if you block someone or they block you after they have verified you or if someone leaves the site after verifying your verification counter still says you've had that verification but you cannot display it as it disappears but isn't subtracted from your total number.

That and as you can choose not to show verifications, generally if you don't like someone or want to see them again you just don't verify them or just report & block them...so id be classed as a time waster to you

Who the hell are these time wasters?! The amount of time I spend knocking my pan in trying to get just a reply, every chat I have is special and every meeting is very significant. So what about users we have blocked or left the site after a meet? They show on the summary but arent shared.

Do we seem dodgy because we met someone who messaged every 90 minutes after a meet and we blocked him?

Youre completely within your rights to draw whatever conclusion you want from the veris, and if it doesnt feel right you shouldnt follow through, but there are sometimes good reasons.
