Who actually replies to winks

I often use winks to get attention as often writing a message that can capture the attention of the recipient is a daunting task so i opt for a wink and hopefully they wink back my question is this does anyone actually check there winks and if so do u follow up with a wink back or send a message

Women and couples privacy the don't as they're considered lazy, or they get too many. Men don't get them out if they do they reply after coming round from fainting that they got one.

If we're interested we'll wink back or send a message. Sometimes we'll send a "thanks but no".

If the winker or friend requester plainly hasn't read the profile, we just delete.

I often forget to look at winks to be honest. But a few times when I've looked at a profile and seen on there that they have winked , if I think we could get on ,I'll wink back or message , definitely.

If someone winks us we nearly always wink back, if someone invites us as a friend without first messaging them we reply with a wink (our way of saying we’ve noticed you but make a little effort first).... we sometimes send winks just to feel the ground, if we get a wink back we message. But truth be told if someone wants to get our attention make the effort to send a message, and by effort we don’t mean just one line. And likewise if we really like the look of someone we send a similar message.

I ignore winks completely. If someone can't be arsed to send me a message when they are interested then I can't be arsed to make any effort with them.

I do pay attention to unsolicited friend requests - they always result in the sender being blocked as it's obvious they either haven't read my profile or have chosen to ignore it.

We're glad we didn't follow your lead with this on an occasion (your choice, not having a dig, your account-your rules always) by it was a tentative reach out that came about through not wanting to be rejected, they've since grown a much thicker skin.

The site provides tools which we like to use. A wink in either direction is (to us) just a way of registering some interest. If we wink at somebody and get one in return then we email.

Fab is a very different experience for the different demographics that use it. As a single lady, even using tight filters, the amount of interest and contact you receive can be huge and the "admin" involved in dealing with it overwhelming - it can become a full time job if you allow it to be.

I'm sure I have missed out on chatting to and meeting some really lovely people but I just can't chat to and meet everyone I would like to, there aren't enough hours in the day.

As most people don't reply to polite messages winks should be a way of seeing if someone's you to try a message.

The problem being to many people think a response means you are in.

Manners and respect should be key.

I frequently check winks and wink back, if there's mutual interest - though I'll usually assume that it's a potential sexual interest that's been shared, rather than for social: I'd prefer a message for advice/friendship development, as I have different interests for these categories.

Use winks, if a user hasn't said that they don't bother with them.

I don't send any winks, I've always thought if a profile has created enough interest it's worth the investment of a couple of minutes to type a message.

I receive the odd wink .. I look at them and if it's from a profile that creates some interest I'll message back..if it's from a silhouette and little text or from those that are outwith my preferences theyreignored.. I don't delete then they can't wink again for(I think) a month.

We look at our winks and respond to them if they’re of interest to us, generally that’s someone who has read our profile and has public photos, I see it as a way of saying that we like what we see and if we can’t see anything then how would we know? I quite like them.

I did have a single female profile for a very short space of time and within an hour of joining I had over 300 messages and even more winks (with filters on) I closed it down as it just didn’t seem worth the hassle so I can understand why many women don’t even have the time to look at them.

Tend to send a wink if we fancy someone. Then follow up with a reply message if they wink back. If not we move on.

If we receive a wink, we wink back if we like their profile.

(If we are blocked or the sender has no pics and / or they clearly haven't read our profile, or we simply don't like or are not currently looking then we ignore or delete).

If we like the winker we will message and say thanks and nice photos etc.

If we don’t we delete. Instant delete for friend requests for anyone we’ve not talked to. Unless they look sexy then we accept, have a nosey and then remove if they don’t meet expectations. If we then don’t start talking we remove too.

We want regular meets with a very small circle of swingers. Though that’s a bit difficult.

Showing an interest with a wink has been known lead to more...

I respond if im interested, if I wink and no response is received I take it they arent interested!

After all...wink wink, nudge nudge

I do. I think it's a nice way to say, "hey, I think your sexy, take a look at my profile and wink back if your interested".

Then, I get about 2 winks a month, so not exactly drowning in them.

I actually had a message off a couple today, who thanked me for my wink. I didn't wink them at all. I even checked their profile and saw the only interaction was their message. No winks given on either side. Strange haha.

I look at my winks and if the winker appeals to me I'll either wink back or drop them a message.

As some have said above. It's a way to show some interest. If the person winks back it opens a line of communication. I think they are a good feature of the site

Seems just like lots of questions posed here. Everyone is different.

You see some profiles saying they dont use them and not waste your time.

Others say we will send a wink to show our interest.

Different stroke for different folk!

I wonder if it's a new fab trend, to get people replying that they hadn't winked, to open up a dialogue?

We go through phases, though mainly we do. However, if they send us a friend request at the same time, we will ignore, if not block. And there are obviously those who've clearly not looked at our profile and/or are fake and/or 9 billion miles away.

What I think is odd is of all the people we've winked back, in most cases nothing happens next - are they expecting us to msg them....? So if we do like the look, we'll often drop them a msg rather than a wink.

All that said, we've pretty much given up winking people as we rarely get a response - but that could of course because they took one look at our profile and ran for the hills!

When someone winks I check them out ... but like others, if they've sent a friend request at same time or are too far I don't reply but otherwise I do check out their profile and if I like the look of it I wink back

I’ve just had a look at mine (very rare for me) and they are by a huge majority from people I would not meet at all (they ignored my profile) and/or many hundreds of miles away.

They winked because it’s too much effort to do anything else.

We do. Sometimes it proves fruitful but all too often they wink, we wink back ................ and nothing???

We use winks ourselves to signal an interest and if we get a wink back we always follow that up with a message.

Occasionally we check through winks and will loom at a profile and then message if it looks interesting. It all depends on whether it's a quiet time for messages, we've caught up and have a few minutes to kill on here.

However, a wink alone is a bit of a half hearted attempt at attention. If someone messages us with a photo, as we ask on our profile, then we will always try to reply even if it's a polite thank you but you're not our type.

If you really want a response then take that 5 minutes to send a photo and a personal message rather than win at every picture you find horny and hope the law of averages works out for you.

"We don't.Clear on profile."

Same here, which is why we know that if someone winks at us then they definitely haven't read our profile and would have no way of knowing if we were compatible. This is why we are happy to bulk delete them.

I use them as an ice breaker. Wink; wink back; message. Isn’t that what the point of the wink is? However, understandbly, just as ladies get tens of unsolicited messages they probably get double the number of winks.

We do sometimes, after checking the winker's profile. No reasonable pics (not all cock pics please), no reasonable profile message (ffs we all know you want to meet someone, so say something fresh) and stupid entries in preferences and you have no chance to get a wink back.
