Have built up good relations with someone, we have agreed to meet, but they won't speak on phone to finalise everything, they avoid answering the question or make up reason why the can't. Should this be raising a red flag warning to me ?

May possibly be a man hence why they won’t talk on the phone

Everyone’s probably right.

Although I will also never speak to someone on the phone beforehand because I don’t like to give my number out, and more importantly, I just hate speaking on the phone, particularly to people I don’t already know.

It just makes me incompatible with some people, which is fine!

Not always the case.

We won't speak on the phone for the simple fact we won't share our number with anyone. And we don't use apps outside of fab for fab.

Maybe it's an idea for a future improvement to the site to allow account to account calls but it would need some serious permissions put in place to avoid people being called without invitation.

Also for one off for verification purposes only and then the block is put back in place.

I don't speak or do facetime on the phone either as I don't want to give out my number.

I will always meet up though.

Some good advice. You can make your number silent before calling a person tough.

If people don't wish to give out their number you can set up a username on Telegram and hide your number.

That way you can give out your username without revealing your number.

"Some good advice. You can make your number silent before calling a person tough."

That's correct, people who don't want to give out their number can withhold it when making a call. Be aware that some Men pose as Women and Couples. Check the verifications of a profile, check the profiles of the verifications. Experience will hopefully teach you which profiles are genuine.

Exactly the same for me. OP, if the person has verifications from meeting in person, they are, most likely, not fake.

There are still genuine people around who don't want to speak on the phone. I hate phonecalls, even try and avoid making them at work. I wouldn't voluntarily phone a stranger off the internet, or allow them to phone me.

Not wanting to make phone or video calls is always down to personal comfort levels.

To me it's not necessarily always a red flag, but it does mean we're unlikely to be compatible. If I'm making plans to meet someone I don't want to be reliant on any conversation taking place solely on Fab. People aren’t always logged in and having the ability to communicate at any time via phone or a chat app means that there's increased flexibility and scope for getting contact through in case of emergency.

In an age where a burner phone/second sim/anonymous chat ID are all ridiculously easy to acquire, I (and we on the couples profile) won't engage with anyone not willing to communicate off site.

If you're wanting to keep all things Fab on Fab, and are happy that this will cause limitations then that's of course fine. But it's significantly more common to find no shows occurring when any contact has been limited.

Personal choice of course.

I don't speak on the phone op,

I'm verified by meet and photo, which is enough for me.

Some people won't be comfortable on the phone with strangers, it doesn't mean they're fake.

But, it just means you're not compatible with each other. You don't take the same approach, which is fine.

If speaking is v important to you and not to them, it's best to move on though op.

We wouldn't ever do a voice call, video call or any other call as we won't give our private phone number to anyone

For a lot of people that would be the norm and we clearly have it on our profile

Just to add, I did do a call with a man years ago and he tried to turn it on to sex chat at every opportunity. It wasn't supposed to be a dirty call, that may be another reason some women don't want to chat to men on the phone though.

If you're in any doubt op, give them a miss.

You could do a video call, with sound only, say for a fixed duration of A minute, just to confirm gender(commitment.

The OPs situation sounds like there's something not right, which could be family or work stuff or being messed about.

I'd probably suggest that they get in contact, when they are ready to add wish them well

Last couple I met at their house but didn't speak on the phone beforehand just text messages, was an amazing evening calling on the phone beforehand might have a negative effect
