What's getting you down ? " Yes I think docs/therapy will have to be the way. Friends and family are never around. Like yesterday was my bday and not one person even spoke to me. "Hey everyone. How do some of you handle your mental health? Really been struggling recently." Make plans. It could just be a list of things to research towards a goal. It could be a plan to obtain a new qualification, or a new skill, somewhere to visit. I found having something to work towards and starting off on that journey really helps. I ended up with a new career but it doesn’t matter what it is, it’s something to focus on and plan for and you feel a sense of achievement when you cross one of the small steps towards it from the list. Also exercise and human contact even if you have to force yourself to do both. They help. | |||

"Exercise, sleep and good nutrition. Stop alcohol. Yoga, mindfulness, therapy, friends and when v low I've been to GP. " These are all great practical ways to manage mental health. Physical and mental health are closely connected, as is your gut health. Cold water exposure is incredible for mental health. It takes some courage to get started but it has an instant impact and reduces stress hormones in your blood stream. Writing down the positives from your day and you life each day can really help. Fasting and eating a wide variety of vegetables each week can have a huge impact. Alcohol and caffeine impact your mood and your sleep. Regular routine also very important | |||

Happy Birthday for yesterday too, nice pics on your profile All you can do is look up Mental Health help line numbers that you can call when ever you want, and get in to with your Doctors for some help maybe medical and definitely some sort of therapy. I find having a really really shit memory helps me (no joke either) or allowing myself to be easily distracted so I can concentrate on something else helps a lot. I guess I'm what you'd call old school in that I don't talk about my emotions, to anyone, but I have found a pretty good coping mechanism that helps me. | |||

I have Cyclothymia (it's a mood disorder) and taking just one day at a time , if you need to just step back for a moment then chill . There's no rules or instructions it's far to overwhelming to think to far in the future it can be to much. Luckily I'm rarely in a depression low mood but when it comes it's horrible | |||

Try and complete one single task daily even if it is just tidying a room, go for a walk or cycle, read a good book. Go shopping. Make sure you eat properly and try and maintain a routine. Please do talk to a doctor and either get counselling ot referred to Rethink or other mental health charity. If you get really down talk to the Samaritans. I volunteered in Mental Health for 5 years. It can get better. | |||
