For those that accept a no thanks there's an equal amount who then resort to abuse or trying to change your mind. It's pretty tiresome & easier to just ignore.

they get abuse sometimes if they do.. same with couples.. my top tip is to write to people actively looking saying so on status, esp these days. Many ladies and couples are not actively looking, esp right now so chatting is not a big thing, unless with old friends etc

Maybe it would if you could resist the temptation to reply with another unwanted message "thanks for replying " etc .

Send 10 messages a day, get 10 rejection emails a day with various reasons why they don’t find you attractive enough to meet ...or just no answer.

Which would you really prefer ?

A polite no thanks when we receive a polite message. Not one of the “Can I fuck your wife tonight” type messages or the other ones with no pics on their profile asking if we have more pics to show them.

As per our crap boring profile I answer all messages therefore freeing up my wife to reply to just the ones she want to which works well for us as this our third attempt at fab.

But to be fair I wish I could just not reply or just be blunt with all men that go tit blind when they see tits and forget all respect or reason when sending a crap wasted message.

Why?

What do they owe you, out of the hundreds of messages that are received? And what do you get from the 'no', other than wasted time reading it.

This place is like a sweetshop for women ..they pick and chose. It's humbling at first, but its important to get over yourself ...those that don't answer obviously have.

Good luck!

Exactly ..imagine if we sent a polite 'not interested' to every pizza delivery company or kebab shop that sent crap through the letter box... christ I'd be writing for days.

Most ladies say something like ..if I don't reply it means I'm not interested. Believe them the first time.

Women don't have the time to write a polite no thank you, they're to busy with other stuff to respond to your interest. You just have to deal with it.

My approach is that if someone has obviously read my profile (it's specific about what I am looking for) and has taken the time to write a short, individual message - then I will respond. Even if it's a polite 'No thanks'.

But the majority of messages I receive are clearly either from men who haven't read my profile, copy and paste messages, or just 'hi' or 'meet now'. They all get deleted.

So you get depressed from 50 no thanks to the 50 messages you sent out and you don't pester any one of them with a why not?

The reality is if a woman replies it sits in a guys in box and as its the only reply he pesters you only have to talk to women on here to realise this is true. A no reply is a no thanks on here.

On the occasions when we lift the filters preventing contact from single guys we get inundated with messages which would make the average cro-magnon man look like Einstein.

Fire has experience as a single guy before we met, and knows from his own experience how difficult it can be for single guys to get meets. But, should he tolerate somebody not showing respect to his partner because of that ? The answer there is a firm “no” because the person he respects the most is Smoke - not some random bloke who lives 200 miles away and who will either be abusive, a pest, or a “keyboard hard man” in response to being turned down.

We make it clear that we’re a couple and politely ask that any messages be addressed to us both (and when they aren’t it’s actually Smoke who gets annoyed). But 99.9 % of the time that’s ignored, or there is a cursory attempt at acknowledging the existence of Fire ( and that is also from “cpls” ).

If people are going to ignore what we’ve written why should we feel even remotely obliged to respond to them.?

Op, if you check my comment I asked a question. You failed to answer it, so even you decide what you’ll reply to and what you’ll ignore.

So it’s easily done, this ignoring comments or messages, so you no longer can complain, why you or other guys get ignored as well. As we all do it

Sure it would be nice to get a reply either way. Especially if you've taken the time to write a sensible message of a few paragraphs as I usually do. I never send 1 line messages, check for typos etc. And I would never send an abusive message to anyone on here.

But I also accept that people get loads of messages a day so simply don't have the time to reply to everyone. When I first joined the site it was kind of disappointing not to get any reply at all. But it didn't take very long just to accept it for what it is.

I normally reply saying thank you but no thanks and I hope they find someone. Usually get a reply saying thanks for replying to said man but if several weeks later he messages me again and it's always the same message, then I will block him because it's just going round in circles because he can't take no for an answer. Rudeness and being abusive is a big turn off so we as women have a right to block. I've had to put up with this for years on here and I'm sure other women have too x

Oh, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t agree with the FAQs. No reply means no thanks according to site admin. If one doesn’t agree with a site’s policies, one doesn’t have to use the site in question.

Would it be better for women just to block and no matter how you improve your profile to make it interesting for you to never be able to contact again?

A deleted message is a clear no thanks it really is come on guys we all know that.

A no thanks reply is only wanted by people who aim to open a conversation and try and persuade people to change their mind and grind them down.

But why do you feel the need for that “no, thank you!”?

I mean why is an active rejection better than a discrete delete, unspokenly agreed that it is not a match?

I reply to well written and lengthy messages even if they are not my cup of tea, but if I had to have a back and forth after each “hey, how’s fab treating you?” kinda one liner, I’d never have time for anything else.

Just accept that you weren’t for them (:

Here and There

I always explain in my profile what I’m looking for. It’s always very clear. If I get messages from people who are outside of what I’m looking for, I don’t reply and just delete because it’s obvious they either haven’t read my profile or have ignored it.

At the moment my profile says that I don’t want to chat to strangers, if you message me I won’t respond and if you send me a dick pic, have a dick pic as an avatar or repeat message me when I don’t reply the first time I’ll block you.

Despite all that my inbox is full everyday with messages from strangers who often include a picture of their unattractive penis and/or message again when previously ignored. It’s infuriating. So i follow my rules, I’ve blocked over 50 people in the past week.

To me, reading a profile is a basic manners. If I saw a guy I quite fancied but his profile said he was into petite blonde girls in their 20’s then I wouldn’t message him. If I did, I’d 100% expect to be ignored because I’ve shown him no respect by contacting him in the first place. That’s what happens on here all the time.

I always reply to a well written profile or message, as they are so rare.

If someone ignored what I've written, then I don't feel bad deleting their message, it works both ways.

Plus as already said, if you reply with a no thanks it creates why not or abuse

Ojh I love this question...

It appears at least once a week with all the same answers

You know those signs at factories; x number of days since an accident. We should get one that reads: “0 days since someone moaned about not getting a reply” we wouldn’t need any numbers though! "

I know!

Any type of reply would be nice sometimes. I know women get a lot of messages and it isn't possible for them to reply to everyone, but there are only so many well written and thought out messages that I can send before it gets to me.

I don't think I could do any worse if I just sent a cock pic and a fancy a fuck message everytime and treated it like a numbers game. No wonder men send copy and pasted messages to everyone.

It's been suggested many times over the years that fab could introduce a tab option much like reply but a 'No thanks'. A one directional message that dents a polite no thank you but also prevents the receiver from messaging back again.

However there are those who don't think it's rude, there are those who do.

I've found the simple solution is to follow Fabs guidelines as no reply mean no interest and then block those who don't reply as there is no point wasting your time or theirs.

Spend your time then searching those who might be interested.

I have received 300 messages today and it's 3:15pm. So could you imagine how long it would take me to reply no thanks to 300 people? And that's a slow day!

Men often complain of no reply but then send shitty messages. Like these are some examples of messages I have received today:

Hey xx

How r u?

Fancy a meet?

Blow me

Wanna chat?

I mean if its taken someone less than 30 seconds to write a message to me then why should I reply? Also how do you even respond to those messages? When you get asked 500x a day hi how are you? It gets a bit tedious to reply. Also if you can't be bothered to write more than 1 line on your profile why should anyone meet you?

Sorry that may seem blunt and harsh but at the end of the day with the amount of time wasters and fantasists and dicks and arrogant arseholes I really don't blame women for having a blunt profile and not replying to anyone.

If someone put an effort to read my long profile, I say thanks but no in polite manner. If I get copy paste, I don't reply or I simply tell them to f off (last option goes to the most disturbing types, who want to get me pregnant, take a Line on my pussy, or want to "unload" and go)

Listen I’m not gonna have a big thing about it but just for the sake of you maybe doing better in the future;

You’re a grown man. You quite clearly have a clear idea of the meaning of the words you have sent... I mean if you ever have to question if a message is abusive or not, just image if your mam/daughter/wife getting it...

Anyway, water under the bridge, do better next time.

I got abuse on this thread by a bloke, rather than actually answer a question I posed. He decided to be a coward and send me a nasty message instead.

I’m very sympathetic to both sides of the argument, without single guys this place wouldn’t be worth visiting. However nobody is owed anything, there are guidelines if you choose to read them.

If the site isn’t what you’re expecting or too hard to actually work out, the best way to try and get a meet that’s on you, not the women or couples on here.

Plenty of guys get meets on here, it wouldn’t take too long to check other guys profiles to see it’s true, as those guys have worked out how best to approach the site and those that use it.

Lost count of the “no thank yous” I’ve had. A polite “thank you for giving me the respect of a reply” is what I’ll send back in return. Manners don’t cost a thing.

The vast majority of messages we get are a complete waste of time. Writing "No thank you" takes more effort that the user has put into their message to us.

If somebody says something interesting to us I will always reply but I'm not going to respond to somebody who has absolutely nothing to say. I have tried that and it's a total waste of time.

Our profile says we're not meeting single men. It says what types of messages we will and won't respond to. Most people should know the outcome of a message to us before they even write it. I don't have to tell them a second time.

I haven't read the other responses, apologies if I'm repeating.

Our profile clearly states those messages which will be ignored and deleted. If people don't read our profile, they don't deserve a response.

We can get 400-600 messages a day at times, more when the club is open and has big nights on. If messages come through from people who clearly haven't read our profile, I don't have the time to reply and they don't get to moan either...just read the profile. It saves all the boo hooing

The majority of men here is like 70-30 compare to women. You just have to make your message stand out with a pic too. I’m sure you get a response with that. I take my time to Create a message for anyone I’m interested in but sometimes you get a reply or no reply at all. It’s a shame it’s just how fab is. Its frustrating for a guy to not get messages read, but, if im ignored, just move on, its all you can do. Dont see the sense in pestering people that dont reply, its not going to help!!

Female here I must I don't always answer back , coz if people can't be arsed messaging a half decent message other than mmmmmm hi then I can't be arsed replying & honestly what do you say back to that ??? And yes we've had a fair few of these. Plus some people just don't take no or not interested at the minute as an answer they keep on sending messages gets tiresome best not answering at times but I still feel bad but my partner doesn't lol

I usually ask those I message to just delete if there's no interest, no need for a reply... But that doesn't happen either!

If I don't hear from them after a week, I move on - but I tend to get moaned at for removing my pics when they've read and not replied until about 2 weeks later!

"Agreed. Personally I try not to meet people outside my distance limit, when I decline and say they are too far away they reply that they can drive!! Same with married men.. I usually just delete those. "

I have exactly the same thing, my normal response is to tell them that I drive too, but still dont want to meet them.

"Any type of reply would be nice sometimes.

And yet you decide to send abusive messages when you don’t get a reply...

Accountability is important.

It got to me that day and I wasn't trying to be abusive I just spoke the truth, sorry if it hurt you.

Wow.

You sent abuse to someone who didn't reply and you wonder why women don't.

Did I?

You just admitted you did after being called out.

I think you should read it again

It's very clear you admitted to sending a message that was seen as abusive to someone who hadn't messaged you at all.

I didn't admit to sending an abusive message but if that is how it was taken I apologise for that. It really shouldn't of though in my opinion though.

It doesn't matter what I say here now because you have already made up your mind about me.

"

Sounds like you sent an abusive message and are backtracking.

Then people like you wonder why you are not successful on here.

I get a few nice no thanks that’s fine.

The ones I call fakes are the no reply and no delete which get classed also and picture hunters.

Then you get the ones that show as never read. These are just collectors to see how many they get.

99% won’t have a click so there is lots needed to find a real one that actually likes you.

I don't know how you can class someone as a picture hunter for not deleting your message if you have sent your photo unsolicited in the first place?

I guess I must be fake since I read and don’t delete sometimes as I mass deleted every few days.

When unhidden and with pictures and if I get on. Hot photos I can leave messages unread for days as there so many and it takes a while to get to the bottom. So I must be a collector too...

Why speculate? If they’re interested they’ll respond, that’s it.

You haven’t hit a nerve with anyone as far as I can see.

You have shown how immature you are and how you negatively generalise those who aren’t interested in you and don’t reply though. Those of us responding are showing how way off the mark you are.

It’s nothing we’ve not read or heard before on here. Lots of bitter men who make big generalisations when they’re unsuccessful rather than looking at themselves and what they’re doing...

Just because you fancy them doesn't mean they fancy you... I don't respond to men I don't find facially attractive, unless it's about the local social. Nobody can help who they are attracted to... Or who they are attractive to. The only thing you can be is decent, then when someone does fancy you back, you improve your chances.

I can receive up to 100 messages a day. Fewer now I have removed most of my photos.

I do read every single one.

I will reply if a message peaks my interest. Which is about one in every 200.

And it's not about it being a numbers game. Just because there's lots of dick on offer, doesn't mean there are lots of options to choose from.

Most of the messages are lazy, from entitled men with uninteresting profiles.

If all the men were interesting, I'd reply to their messages. A great message and profile will stick out.

Just like a well written CV and covering letter. And equally poorly written ones will go in the bin without explanation.

But one thing I won't tolerate is entitlement to my time and labour, just because you decided to reach out to me. If you can't respect that small thing, how can I expect you to respect me in sex?

Exactly this . We have lots of female friends on here and if they were to reply to every single message they would need to employ a personal secretary.

When myself Miss Nice had a single female account I was overwhelmed with all the messages from single guys. So like our lovely friend from Blackpool says take it as a no if you don't get a reply.

If they're not interested I prefer either a no thanks or just a delete because then I know where I stand.

What confuses me is when people just read your message, don't delete it then never do anything about it. And by never I mean I've NEVER had anyone follow up at a later date etc after doing that. What's the point?

Why is that confusing? I don’t need to actually delete because they disappear off the end of my inbox. If no reply is “no thanks” then surely if you haven’t got a reply it’s clearly no thanks.

Here’s an example. I messaged a guy. He replied. I replied. He didn’t reply so I accept a no thanks. I’ve no need to question it. If he’s interested he would have replied. It’s a non issue.
