The beach... is that PDI or Maspalomas you're talking about? Tx

It’s Maspalomas Beach, which you can access through the dunes near the Riu Palace south of PDI. Walk through the dune paths and you will get to the nudist beach where the gay community typically go, then if you walk towards the lighthouse in the distance, about 100m from the gay nudist beach is where the nudist beach where the swingers normally reside.

Alternatively, you could walk down from the lighthouse towards the dunes, which is a 15/20 minute walk.

I asked a similar question about 3 months ago and got pretty much no response so having had 2 trips there recently feel like I’m able to offer some advice.

I got back on Sunday and this time it was way quieter than it was at the end of Feb. The general feeling is than things are winding down for the summer. That said there are still things going on if you know where to look.

My first advice is keep checking the forums, particularly the ones concerning June - chip in when you can but don’t be a pest. When you get there use the who’s near function - it will be mainly couples but you might find like I did first time a few are staying at your hotel. If so talk to them and ask about where they’ve been / can recommend etc. it’s also good to have some friendly faces to say hello to when you’re out and about.

At night you’ll probably head to the bars around Cita first. Comeback and Before are both really friendly and welcoming to single guys - Black Bulldog isn’t at all. Both times I’ve been there Bulldog has been the busiest one though so if you can try to enter in a group - otherwise you’ll have to run the gauntlet of the bouncer. Studio 69 is definitely worth a trip to Yumbo - they’re lovely too.

If you’re planning on going to a club do your research before you’ve had a skinfull - they can be pricey and maybe not quite what you might expect. Eden do Gentleman’s nights twice a week and your entrance is only €10 - plus it’s a great club.

I didn’t venture to the beach, mainly because I don’t like sand and was happy on my rooftop. There is a scene down there though.

Most of all go expecting to have a lovely week in the sun, as ever anything else is a bonus. Hope this helps…?

Thank you nik, great advice and certainly helps me before I go out there.

Yes I been reading the forums on here and picking little bits up and definitely will not be a pest on here.

That's why I needed solo advice on what to expect and most couples will probably only meet couples and don't need a pain in the arse guy who's on heat(that is not me) .

I'm definitely not expecting anything to happen, but would like to befriend someone out there just for drinks

That's great feedback Nik, thanks for taking the time to share so much detail. I'm also not one of those hungry pests that everyone hates but I'd still like to venture out in the evening rather than sitting sadly on my own in a hotel room! It's good to know where single guys are more welcome. I'm there from the 8th-18th July which gives me plenty of time to mooch about & get rid of my tan lines!

I think Nik has given you some sound advice. The forums are a good starting place and the who’s near are going to be your friend on this holiday.

From a male point of view of the couple, who has experienced the life in various states is when you look at the who’s near, take time to have a read at the profile. If couples are not looking for single men, then it’s unlikely this will change.

However, we are all on holiday, so it’s likely that a lot of couples would be happy to have a drink and a chat. Just be aware that when it comes to the naughty side of swinging, it’s probably not going to happen.

Also appreciate that couples whilst on hols and perhaps looking to swing will also want to invest time in what they’re looking for. So be sensitive to this as well.

Not saying you will, but I’ve heard in the past people playing the sympathy card about being on their own. Not the couples problem. The choice to travel solo was made be the individual, so wear it.

As a couple who only play with couples and females, we did have single males in our company. For us, we did make it clear what we were looking for, and once this was appreciated and respected, then we enjoyed their company. Sharing our experiences and anecdotes.

Clubs and Bars, Nik has hit the nail!

From a club point of view, Eden is most likely to be your friendliest. I say this as they do host a couple of gentlemen nights which are not expensive, so head to the Nilo and embrace these.

In the Yumbo you have Studio 69. You will not be charged entry and will be welcomed by the team. Every Wednesday and Friday (I believe) they have a drag artist Miss Ash performing and for a single male (or a couple looking to break ice), these are nights to consider.

Now personally I’m not a fan of drag, though I do appreciate the effort, artistry and talent that goes into this. Just because it’s not my thing, it doesn’t mean I don’t respect it. However, unlike other establishments in the Yumbo that’ll have a number of drag queens giving a performance, Miss Ash performs solo.

Prior to performing, Miss Ash will pop around and have a chat to everyone and then embark on a night of singing, performing, jokes and games. Yes some might be a bit retro in what you’d expect on a Butlins camp in the 80s. However, it’s a laugh, a bit of fun and not taking things serious. So you will enter a stranger and leave a friend. It’s an excellent way to interact with others.

2x2 Meeting Point occasionally host a sex show, so look out for this. Just make sure you have cash, as they don’t take card and the ATM machine in Sandia will sting you €5 commission.

Then the Cita, you will be welcomed by both Before and the Comeback Bar. Both do not charge, so easy to go back and forth.

The Black Bulldog is a great bar once in. Friendly and good service. Getting in is where the problem lies. This can be difficult for couples I hasten to add, so as a single you can multiply this.

There is a cinema in the Cita basement which might be worth a visit. I think it’s circa €10.

Fun4All is around €25 for a single male and Secret I believe is €60. I think it includes a couple of drinks.

Granted Secret is probably the most expensive of all places (though if a couple of drinks are included it does offer a bit of compensation), so any visit here, you’ll probably want to save until the Saturday (or Friday) when it’s at it’s busiest. You’ll get the odd performance going on. And be sure if you’re going into the play area, stay to the right of the club. The left side is for couples and I did see a couple of single guys get bounced out for visiting the side they shouldn’t be in.

My final advice is if you’re into footy/boxing/F1, then the Sports Bars are always worth a visit to hang out with like minded people.

Hope this helps, good luck and enjoy your hols.

I went to GC on my own 5 years ago but stayed in Maspalomas in Plays Del Sol Apartments next to Yumbo Centre.

I utilised the "who's near" function a lot on my phone which shows up others from the site who are nearby and may be open to being contacted by a single guy. It worked out the opposite way that I met a couple from here who had spotted me from their balcony and noticed my unique beach towel. They messaged me after 3-4 days working out if it was indeed me from my towel and seeing me on my phone whilst showing as being online on "who’s near". Ended up meeting with them for a few drinks and some fun so it 100% works under the right circumstances.

I went to Cita and went past a few places mentioned on here as meeting points but in all honesty I didn't feel comfortable going in as a single guy, didn't get a good vibe but it might have just been me. I like to think I'm a pretty sociable guy but it just seemed a closed shop in terms of single guys.

Went to 2x2 club for naked night, I got chatting to a lovely couple in the queue from Manchester but was told to wait whilst they let them and other couples in ahead of me so if you go here be mindful they only let a select few guys in every so often. I scrub up well, polite, not a social hand grenade but sociable and like to think that helped as some guys were there before me and didn't get in however some seemed impatient which I can imagine done them no favours. Glad I got in eventually as it was one of the best evenings I have had and so much fun.

I noticed you are bi, I went to Yumbo to eat out a lot and if I was that way inclined I can safely say you will have no issues meeting guys or even getting attention from the staff in restaurants as it seems to be on a plate if you want it.

I think a lot comes down to you as a person and how social you are. I get some guys can come across as dogs on heat/a bit keen with not a lot of social skills which I can fully imagine is very off putting. Just chill, be a decent guy with decent chat and it will go a long way imo from experience.

Oh and if you like watching football, rugby etc I would recommend Red Cow Shenanigans. Great food, friendly staff and easy to strike up a bit of chat with people when you are watching some sort of football or rugby match. Hope some of this helps and enjoy your holiday when it comes

Enjoy. Obviously subjective but for us:

Decent Brekkie: Mardi Gras (Yumbo)

Decent Chinese Buffet: China Town (Yumbo)

Decent Sunday Roast: Buddies (Yumbo)

Decent Pie and Chips: Mac’s Tearoom (Cita - Daytime)

Decent Steak: Marco Polo (Cita)

Decent 3 course with steak for sub €15: Carlos V (Cita)

Decent Tapas: Tango Tapas

Decent Beer Soaking Kebab (Mixed Durum): Sultan Kebap

Obviously plenty of choice. You’re really spoilt for choice. Especially over the bridge to San Fernando, but hopefully this will give you a starting point.

Great thread Tommy, I’m also heading out on 2nd June , I enjoy my single holidays , had a great time in Tenerife last year with “fab folk”…. & sensing GC is a bigger swinging scene so am looking forward to it

But for me it’s a holiday , with sun, hiking & running which are my passions - if swinging comes into the equation then great but I see it as a bonus x
