We spent a couple of hours in this bar yesterday, while it was raining. We stopped by just for shelter but it turned into a longer stay than expected as we got wrapped up in the surroundings.

It wouldn’t normally be the place for us, but that’s just personal taste. It’s a very popular bar and was packed, even after the rain stopped.

First up we had an African guy on acoustic guitar seemingly playing songs with a South Africa feel, but we couldn’t really hear from where we were sat. He was ok.

Next up, an older guy with an accordion passed by. Played some unrecognisable songs.

All the time there was music being pumped out of the speakers in the bar..!

Then a guy started singing country songs to backing tracks, and the bar turned their music off.

Then a slim and very dapper German guy started some line dancing (solo..) in front of the clients.

We were then hooked on all this activity and ordered our second beers...!

A German couple were sat in front of us and it didn’t take long for dapper dancer to invite her up to dance. She really enjoyed herself and we found ourselves grinning like Cheshires...

By this time she was downing glasses of white wine like there was no tomorrow.

Another couple started line dancing, one wearing a dreadlock wig down to their waist, his partner wearing a rainbow Mohawk wig.

Still with us...?

Dapper dancer was up most of the time with German lady. By this time she was alternating a glass of white with every dance. See where this is heading..?

During one dance, she swayed a bit too much and was saved from a face plant by another dancer who grabbed her round the waist. But she was a lady of some stature and his hands slid up to her boobs as she landed on her bottom.

This caused much mirth in the audience and we rapidly ordered more beers.

German lady regained her composure and started danced with her husband. After a few songs, husband decided that he objected to the dancer’s attempts to avoid a costly plastic surgery bill for his wife, by hoisting her her up by her boobs, and remonstrated with him.

He was promptly told to go forth by the other, much larger, dancer.

German lady was on her umpteenth glass by then and when invited up by dapper dancer, she did a full length stage dive over the table and landed flat out on the tarmac, smashing glasses and bottles in the process.

A lovely Brit lady assisted her and bandaged up her cuts and they all left.

Still more beers for us, we couldn’t wait to see the next instalment.

Sure enough, a few minutes later there was another table and chair upturned and dapper dancer ended up on the floor as a 7 foot Dutch guy towered over him. Don’t know what happened but we we didn’t want to leave, so ordered more beers in case we missed anything.

Peace resumed and we realised that the singer had carried on throughout, didn’t miss a beat.

Which is more than can be said for his vocals. Occasionally he sang the right lyrics at the right time in the right song.

We really didn’t want to leave but had a table booked at the Hard Rock Cafe to watch a Queen tribute band.

Freddie and co were absolutely brilliant, but we know where we had the most fun....!!

You so definitely have to do this. Kudos points for building an El Bucanero Sand Pub and posting a pic.

If you do this, then we will definitely pay a visit there next time we’re over and have a drink or two.

You've still never told us what your connection is with this bar.

Is it friends or family owners?

Look at the thread title.

"Only 2 days left to listen to this crap, lol"

What’s your problem?

Don’t like it - don’t read it.

Why do some folk actively go out looking to be irritated ?

I like Eric’s posts - remind me of the fun we had in the bar last month.

And I know which of the two gents we’d prefer to have a few drinks with in the sun

Well said Bananaman. Love or loathe, people are coming to your thread so you’ve definitely created a noticeable thread. Well done you.

I think you’re a guilty pleasure and I’m sure one poster looked like your brother.

You’ve put El Bucanero on the map and rammed it down our throats so much that we’re going to have a beer there next year because of you. I think they need to make a special drink/cocktail named after you.

Glad you had a blast and next year, we want to see an El Bucanero sandcastle next to your tent.

Merry Christmas Eric and a healthy and prosperous 2022.
