"no interest in soccer though "

Can’t help you there then.

Shame, great stadiums.

Plaza Mayor, Puerta deo Sol always worth visiting. Pop to Wok 2 Walk, grab some noodles and enjoy the scenery. Just be streetwise when standing around with backpacks, suitcases.

If you’re really into the culture, then Corral de la Moreria. You’ll get a great flamenco show and it’s the oldest tablaos in Madrid.

You could venture out of the centre of Madrid, I’ve done quite a bit of business in the Cuatro Torres area and there are some fab places, but if it’s your first time, then stick in and around the Sol/Chueca area, as there’s plenty to see and enjoy in a smaller area.

I tend to think Madrid is more dense from a tourist point of view and quite a lot close by, where Barcelona is more the opposite.

Both amazing cities and I’m sure you’ll have a blast. I do recommend using the underground.
