We had posted this a good while back. It’s a couple of years out of date so a few adjustments taking November 19 and November 20 into account. Enjoy:
A post intended to share our views on the swinging clubs/bars we attended in November 15, April 16, November 17 and April 18.
We’ve used our previous guide as a template, but removed old clubs and updated the information based on our last trip. We visited 12 swinging venues during the holiday, including a swinging crawl where we did 12 in 48 hours.
Naturally this is subjective and any given day, at any given venue can be different. But with an abundance of venues, there is definitely something there for everyone. Our personal favourites are Imagine Bar and Secrets.

Clubs
******************************************************
2x2 - CC La Sandia (Located East Side, below ground level)
Visited Monday night as it was couples only. Registered online for a VIP pass where you get BOGOF drinks for their 10-11 happy hour.
No charge, nicely done out open bar area with friendly staff. The taller female makes a mean strawberry mojito and 3 years on, still makes a fantastic one.
Second section play area including a car to play in.
A nice add-on is that they have an outside smoking area, very unique as most clubs smoke inside.
Definitely couples not looking for single men, a Monday is recommended, as discussions with locals and tourists suggest it can be a bit full on with single men on other nights. So if you are looking for single men, a night outside Monday would be worth considering.

Secret - CC Cita
From the leaning tower side (East Side - Av. de Alamania), the first club on the right when heading to the basement. Minimum €10 spend for couples and 10-11 happy hour, buy one get one free.
Over 900m2 of club, probably the biggest club and very nicely kitted out.
Staff are friendly and OCD, which is great in a club as you know it is going to be clean and hygienic. The team go out their way to welcome you and we have nothing but positive words to share about this club.
Hottub available, you pay €5 for a locker with two towels.
As a mixed venue, There is a couples only area.
Smoking is inside, but as a large club it isn't as noticeable as smaller venues. Highly recommend a visit here and possibly our favourite club.
We think the atmosphere at Secret is a young vibe. The staff behind the bar are warm, friendly and mischievous. Plenty of banter between them and also with guests. The music is predominantly Latin beats and typically current. With Latin music hitting our mainstream, it’s music you can feel familiar with.
The weekends are typically busier and have a European mix. Plenty of playing in the couples rooms.
They make fantastic cocktails and the sugar sweet and piña colada are two of our recommendations for the sweeter tooth swingers.
Update: Secret was renovated in the summer of 2019 and looks very swank. A couple of vip areas and a separation of couples play (the left side) and singles/couples to the right. You now pay at the door and for couples a €20 entry will also include a couple of drinks, or €30 entry and 4 drinks. You will be given a wrist band and once you’ve had your four drinks, a tab will build up for further drinks (average €8 for a branded spirit & mixer or a cocktail). During Covid restrictions, temperature tested at the door and details recorded for track and trace. They also promoted wearing face masks and regularly sanitised areas, though we never visited the play areas so cannot comment on this, as we chose not to play on this holiday. (Review November 2019/November 2020).

Fun4All - CC Cita
Next door to Secret.
Again a mixed venue and minimum €10 couple spend.
Smaller environment but very friendly.
Plenty of couples, appeared more sociable than some places like 2x2 where play is a higher focus, in our experience of one visit in each place.
We have found the mix is typically British, Irish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, German and Dutch.
It is a small venue but this isn’t a bad thing as it brings people closer together and becomes a social arena with lots of dancing. My biggest criticism would be the playlist of music is a bit dated. However, it is music that all nations seem to know and sing along to. Summer of 69 belted out by 5 different nations may not be a bad thing after all.
As a smaller venue, we find it can be a little bit smoky, even in the no-smoking area.
******************************************************
Gatsby - The Couples Club CC Cita (Av de Francia/Eiffel Tower side).
Located on the outside of the Cita, next door to Chiringos.
As the name suggests, this is a couples club that is currently closed, but when opened it is open on a Friday and Saturday. Will review once it’s open. (Review November 2020)
******************************************************
Eternity - CC Nilo (now closed but venue will open as a new club called Eden in 2021)
Where most clubs are situated in Cita and Sandia is only 400 metres away, the Nilo centre is in the North part of PDI.
Ideally it is best to visit from 11pm, as it gets busier from 12 onwards. Of all the clubs, this definitely has a more Spanish/Local feel and if you want to swing with the locals, then Saturday is a good night to attend. We do find that Eternity does get attended by quite a few German couples also.
It’s €20 to attend as a couple and includes 2 drinks. Lockers are €1, which is returned out of the locker when you put you key in. You’re warmly greeted at reception and also by Jose once downstairs.
******************************************************
Moonlight Dreams - CC Nilo
Next door to Eternity and is relatively new. They have different theme nights each day including a €35 unlimited drinks night on Wednesdays and Fridays. And couples night on Sundays.
The owners are friendly and welcoming.
We assume that quite a few German Swingers reside close to the Nilo, as we’ve met quite a few in this area.
The club is fresh, clean and have around 5 swinging summer huts with beds and condoms. Some are lockable.
They charge €5 for a locker

Pubs/Bars
******************************************************
Kiosk4 - Nudist Beach Maspalomas (Now Hut 6)
Situated on the south side. Walk through the archway of the riu hotel then through the dunes for 15 minutes and you will see a kiosk with a rainbow flag. This is the gay nudist beach and to the right of this is the "swinging" nudist beach and Kiosk4.
Alternatively walk east from the lighthouse for about 20 minutes and you will arrive at Kiosk4.
Simple and great for a drink in the open air and sun. Plenty of dunes around for people to have fun in, though we didn't experience. A meeting point for swingers during the day.
We’ve went to Kiosk4 a few times and each time the bar was heaving, the beds packed out with lots of nudists and swingers. A good vibe and plenty of socialising at the bar from people of all nations. We drank Kopparberg Cider for €4.
Just make sure you put plenty of sun cream on as it can get windy and it’s deceiving. Windbreakers are an idea to avoid being sandblasted.
Update: The old dated Kiosk has been removed and replaced with a swanky large orange one with the number 6. Closed during 2020 but hopefully we will see it open some time in 2021. No seating area as yet. (November 2020)
******************************************************
Comeback bar - CC Cita (top floor)
A small bar and typically a meeting point for swingers before they venture off to the clubs or stay and mingle.
The bar is under new ownership (Richard and Angel from Fun4All) We’ve seen to observe more Europeans than British/Irish but I think that could be down to Imagine Bar being more aligned to our culture. In 2020, we did observe a good number of British/Irish there also.
******************************************************
Imagine Bar - CC Cita (Top floor)
Best way to find Imagine Bar is to come in from Av. de Alamania (Leaning Tower entrance) and go straight up the stairs (stairs going down are to the swinging clubs). You’ll see Mach bar in front of you. Immediately turn left, past Marco Polo and Carlos V, then turn right. Keep walking and it’s on your left.
Imagine Bar is for us THE meeting point and THE place to be before hitting the clubs. A good size, with nice decor and an excellent choice of drinks. The bar is for us the missing piece of the Cita Center. Now there is an excellent meeting point before going on to a club, or even to stay back and enjoy a social night. The owners, Saskia & Tonny, are fantastic and have given the place a very British/Irish/North European feel.
Personally, if possible, I would love to see Imagine Bar offer some hot/cold snacks.
Saskia and Tonny are affable and approachable, so any advice and guidance, they are more than happy to share.
Update: I’m not sure whether they read this review, but they now offer snacks and we will certainly endorse this. Having worked for a Dutch company, I was often in the Netherlands networking over a beer and bitterballen (small croquettes type grounded meat balls). I’m please to say that they offer bitterballens and they’re very tasty.
However, the signature meal for us is their burgers. The most amazing tasty gourmet burgers, which we would highly recommend. If you advise them the night before that you’re coming in for a burger, they will even get the ingredients on the day and make it fresh to order. The flavour is unbelievable and the caramelised onions really complement the burger. Imagine Bar also temperature test before entry. (November 2020)

Patricia’s Swing Inn - CC Cita (Basement)
Head past Secret and Fun4All, straight past the sex cinema and turn left towards the bottom. Halfway on the left hand side is Patricia’s.
It’s open from 10pm (closed on Sundays). It’s a new place, with a couple of beds but nicely decorated.
Patricia used to work in Venus (in Cita) before it closed down and German swingers encouraged Patricia to open a place. Therefore, it’s a bit more German than Imagine and Comeback (and similar to Bude 4 and Cäsars in Sandia). Nevertheless, she is a warm and endearing woman who also speaks English.
******************************************************
Bude 4 - CC La Sandia (Located East Side, below ground level) (I understand this is now CLOSED - Nov 2020)
To the right of 2x2. Was toying between defining this as a pub or a club. Opted for a pub, as it’s quite a relaxed feel. It is immaculate and very impressive in decor. The owner has put in a lot of effort and self pride into her club.
It is very German and we personally found the owner warm and friendly.
It’s a minimum €10 spend.
We definitely would recommend using it as a pitstop before 2x2 and if you speak some German, you’ll definitely have a better experience here.
******************************************************
Cäsar’s Kontakt Bar - CC La Sandia (Located East Side, top floor, above ground level)
Very similar to Bude 4 & Patricia’s. Small but cosy and more targeted at German swingers.
An outside area, then inside a bar and a couple of beds. Friendly and welcoming.

Maclennans Sports Bar - Jardin del Sol passage
Ok not exactly a swinging venue, but one worthy of a mention in this category as the owners will certainly look after you. Coming up from Avenida de Gran Canaria, pass the Galway Girl and continue to just before the bridge and one of the last places on the left.
Maclennans is a great hang out and we spent many a good night (and day) in here. Two TVs playing sports, every sport and match you could ask for. They were kind enough to even put my club on the three times they played. We watched champions league and also the boxing.
They have a dart board and a pool table. Beer on draft, great mojitos and daiquiris to die for. It is the perfect pub from home experience.
They have food to order, so you can really spend a good day and night here. We popped in on a Saturday afternoon to watch the football and ended up leaving at 1am the next day!
I should also compliment their toilets as the probably the cleanest ones we have ever seen in a bar!
We mention Maclennans as we envisage that once normality resumes, there’ll be many starting a night here and then going over the bridge to Eden, as an alternative to the Yumbo, Cita and Kasbah. (Review November 2020)

Hotels/Resorts
******************************************************
Venus Resort
Non guests are welcomed to join them for their nudist BBQs on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
We were advised to arrive before 12, as the sunbeds can get taken up early.
On arrival, you ring the bell and can wait between 1 & 5 minutes depending how busy they are.
It’s €50 per couple and you are allowed to stay until 21:00. You go downstairs to pay and given a locker. They request you strip naked (though we saw people clothed when we came upstairs). Also downstairs is a couple of beds.
The centre is a pool, surrounded by double sunbeds and then bungalows. Quite cosy and pleasing to the eye, there’s also a couple of playbeds, and a bar.
Around the corner is a jacuzzi, playbed, and sauna.
A few things to note. The all inclusive is between 14:00 & 17:00. Drinks before and after are charged (average €6). The all inclusive drinks are wine, beer, sangria, soft drinks and coffee. Long drinks and Cocktails are not part of the all inclusive and will be charged.
The BBQ starts at 14:00 and whilst it is eat all you want, you may want to stack your plate because it isn’t a continuous cooking period. It’s cooked and once it’s gone, it’s gone (usually by 15:00).
For the above reasons, we felt the €50 was a bit excessive.
You can also stay at €109 per night (minimum 3 night stay).
Venus Resort is rumoured to increase in side late Autumn 2018.
Other hotels that are popular with swingers are Mirage and Gold.

I hope the above provides some good information for people planning to visit Playa Del Ingles and Gran Canaria.
There are many great places including the Yumbo Centre to eat, drink and party. This is a lot of gay clubs and cabarets such as Ricky's and Sparkles that you can enjoy the drag queen shows. If you are a straight man, then the cruising clubs are not for you and you may want to give them a miss.
The China Town buffet is fantastic value for money and do a fantastic sangria. Really friendly staff. China Town make smaller portions & is very busy. Therefore food is turn around constantly and is always fresh.
Divinity is a karaoke bar for a song and a laugh. Cheyenne’s next door is also a good hang out.
Near Burger King is Fiction and Mardi Gras. Also good for a drink.
Also in the Yumbo, which we would recommend is Gourmet Street Food (great burgers and chips) We visited GSF in November 2019 and November 2020. In 2020 we visited the English Bakery who also make great homemade chips but for us the winner was the delicious desserts and scones with jam/clotted cream).
Slightly north of pdi centre, near CC Ronda, there’s a fantastic eat all you want Chinese called Asia House. It’s about €14. The main difference is it’s not served buffet style but rather made to order. We would recommend, as others have recommended us.
A more expensive Chinese towards the Nilo, is Miss Asia. We haven’t visited but the locals who recommended Asia House, also recommended here.
The Kasbah Centre has a Brasilian club, if you fancy some salsa and dancing and close by is Little Brasil for a churroscaria (eat as much meat) experience. Also in the Kasbah is the Irish Tavern that is busy, happy hour every hour and a karaoke. There’s also the Chinawhite and Pacha nightclubs. Sultan Kebab make an excellent Dürum Kebab.
Other places to eat that we would recommend are Marco Polo’s in the Cita Center. The €21 fillet steak is to die for. Unfortunately it closed during the pandemic but Carlos V next door isn’t bad a for a steak with 3 courses for €14. Cheap and cheerful.
Tango Tapas make fantastic sangria and amazing tapas in a great surrounding.
If after Secret & Fun4All are closed and you fancy a “one for the road”, then going into the basement of the Cita passed Fun4All, turn left at Klamotte and halfway down on the right is VIP Bunny Club. Although a gentleman’s club, we were welcomed as a couple with another couple to go for a drink (€5 beer, €10 spirit/mixer). The girls were warm and welcoming.
Finally, if you’re looking for a bite to eat after leaving the Cita, there is a takeaway called Pepe Chiringo on the outside (Av de Francia/Eiffel Tower side).
Hotels: Personally, we would always recommend somewhere in and around the Yumbo Center, as it’s central to everywhere you would want to go. The beach is about a 15 minute walk (with the Tipsy Hammock a decent watering hole), so if you prefer to be on the beach, then you may want to look for a different hotel. But if being in the centre of everything is more for you and you want somewhere clean, cheap and cheerful, then playa del sol, eo las gacelas, and Mur Hotels Buenos Aires are all decent. A bus from the airport will take you outside the Yumbo for €3.50.
Whilst trying to remain objective, please appreciate that there will be some subjective views. Like everyone, we do have our preferences and for us in 2020, our preferences were Maclennans, Imagine Bar and Secret. Please feel free to mail us if you want to know more about our personal preference or any advice.
