Flights to gran canaria

Hi all

Just a quick question who are you top and worst airlines to fly to gran canaria with direct or other.

We have used jet2 tui and easyjet but never ryanair.

Asking as we hope to be there for nye this year but current flight prices ade crazy but for some reason ryanair are not too bad ?

We used Ryanair last year from Stansted.

Total £152 return for two inc two bags and reserved seats.

Early flight so arrived at La Mirage at lunchtime so had nearly a full first day.

Flights on-time and return flight was 3/4 empty so we had a row each to lay down and sleep on. lol

Any tricks to booking with them. Or just follow the standard options

We use ryanair most of all and never had a problem.

So long as you accept that the Low price changes as you start with the add ons and you might have to go to an airport that is not your nearest one then they do what is required.

We use Ryanair most of the time, I far prefer easyjet but they don't fly to Beziers for the Cap. Had about the same amount of problems with Ryanair as everyone else. They are all about the same inmost cases.

The trick with them is always add £20 to every flight for seats and a 10kg case then you won't be peed off with additional costs.

We’re flying at Christmas/New year with EasyJet but your right the prices have rocketed!

Agree with others, nothing wrong with Ryanair, flown many times with them. As mentioned above the only problem may be getting a refund or such if you cannot fly due COVID restrictions x

Flew with Ryan air a few times , only ever had one problem a big delay going out , but got compensation, 5 days after without having to ask for it , it is what it is a no thrills airline , just over four hours on a plane , they get you there safely

Usually go With Jet2 in October but they cancelled, so we booked Ryanair from Edinburgh and couldn’t fault them. Check in, cabin crew, flights (apart from turbulence lol) were on time both ways.

Only used Ryanair once and that was to go to Cap

But must say could not fault them, so would definitely use them again

We normally fly EasyJet but now we compare them with Ryanair for price

Ryan air do get a lot of stick , and rightly so in some cases , but I found jet 2 to be terrible,they lied to me on the phone telling me my flight was definitely going ahead , even trying to get me to buy there online food in advance, booked in , downloaded the boarding pass etc went out and got my euros then , day before it gets cancelled, lucky Ryan air took me to Gran Canaria , was the second time jet 2 disappointed me , they won’t get a third chance

For ourselves Ryanair have been ok for our trips. You pay for what you get.

Just once did we have a delayed experience, which was compensated €800, which more than covered our flights. It was paid within a week.

But overall we’ve travelled to Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and maybe Germany with Ryanair and it’s been positive.

We always pay for luggage, and priority boarding but still reasonably priced.

Food, never tried as we always eat at the airport, but always have an overpriced cup of tea, which isn’t great.

Staff, warm and friendly.

Comfort, not a great deal of space and not the most comfortable of seats, but reflected in the price I guess. Wouldn’t want to be on their planes for long haul, but a trip to the canaries can be tolerated with a couple of stand up, stretch your legs sessions.

Will be booking with them no doubt in the unforeseeable future.

They refused to refund or change our flights (unless we paid). Flights were to France, so the 14day quarantine was needed on return to the uk.

I did a claim on my credit card , they refunded the money, Ryanair contested it saying I’d agreed to their t’s and c’s, I contested that saying the service they had sold me was no longer fit for purpose.

They didn’t pull the plug for good of themselves, not the good of their customers, I learned that when trying to cancel/change our flights. I saw the boarding log of the flight we should have taken , it was sent to my credit card company as part of their appeal against my charge back. It was a long list of “no shows”. So all those people, including us ,had paid for flights before the safe travel corridor closed . So Ryanair still had our money, and the flight left mainly empty, that’s not putting customers well-being as priority.

It was the final straw for me with Ryanair, we’ve endured their terrible customer service and vailed pricing policies for years, we’ll never use them again.

On the flip side, jet2 just refunded our money for our October trip, didn’t even have to contact them.
