The environment or brexit?

Which issue will most influence your vote in December?

Obviously the environment is more important than brexit, so I feel I *should* vote greens, but this mess has to be cleared up, so it may be a tactical vote for libdems.

You’d have to get me very d*unk and bribe me with a MFF threesome to get me to vote for savid javid again.

Greens or Lib Dems cant make a government, only tinker around the edges. So unfortunately a vote for either will achieve virtually nothing.

It would take hell of a lot for me to ever vote lib dems again and due to their current stance on a number of things including the NHS, it isn't going to happen any time soon. I'm torn between Labour and green.

"Greens or Lib Dems cant make a government, only tinker around the edges. So unfortunately a vote for either will achieve virtually nothing. "

And that’s the truth of it.

Maybe, sometime in the future this won’t be the case, but for now it’s a wasted vote.

To be fair I can’t stand the Lib Dem agenda insomuch that they will completely ignore a democratic vote and overturn it.

The Greens will do the same and so I feel the same way toward them.

Climate change will happen whether we like it or not. It always has, and always will. Sure we can try and slow it down, or not speed it up, but it will still change.

So for me it’s about voting for the party that will do the best for us now and for the future in a realistic and logical way.

I think Brexit will be the main issue for most folk, as it has been for the last three bloody years.

I am a remainer who is friends with quite a few leavers and one thing we all thoroughly agree on is that we're each sick to the back teeth of it and if the plans were in place properly when the referendum was cast then we would have probably, both leavers and remainers, all have been half way towards getting over it by now.

The environment is a big one and I think we could really do ourselves a favour to look at more green infrastructures from a business standpoint if nothing else - and it's also absolutely disgusting that anybody in this country is sleeping on the streets given the overall wealth of the country...

But the main driver will continue to be Brexit for a good while yet while healthcare, employment, tax avoidance, social mobility and all other manner of much more pressing issues remain on the back burner.

I dont think it is overly cynical to expect another hung parliament, and absolutely no progress in any direction.

The evidence is clear that this is human caused global heating from the period since the industrial revolution. Natural climate cycles and influences are insignificant in comparison.

Problem is can we now make a significant difference, or are we facing a tsunami with a sandbag?

Cleaner and greener is a good move, but will it make a difference to the end result, probably not.

Brexit is the big issue for now. But we should be focusing on the environment and how to make it cleaner and brighter for the future ahead!

Bloody tories doing my heading in just get them out!

But who can you trust these days in power.. They all make a mess of it and don't listen to what we actually want for our country.

If somewhere the Tories can win, whoever will keep them out. Other than Brexit party of course.

If not, then greens cover both bases.

Brexit is about process and form. It's a complete distraction from real life - the environment, transport, housing, schools, health etc.

Brexit (no deal)

I just want to get out of the EU ASAP and start with a clean slate, build new foundations and move forward in a structured way

I don’t care about foreign travel, we can communicate world wide using the internet these days

There’s so many lovely places in the U.K. that are worth visiting - it’s so great here people want to sneak past our weak borders to make a life here - people should stay in the U.K. and support our economy

Unnecessary flights are damaging to the environment - too many people whine about saving the planet then don’t think twice about using their cars, using disposable plastics or flirting aboard for a few d*unken weeks on the Costa del Sol!

I’d prioritise Brexit every time - if everyone made some easy changes to their lifestyle then the planet can be helped too!

There’s no real push from the government for the environment. I wanted an electric car as a company car but the government has not made it clear enough when using for private mileage/home charging so my company had to decline it

I've never voted lib dem, especially after the first coalition. Jo Swinson is just not to be trusted. As far as I'm aware I dont have a green candidate in my constituency so it looks like I'm voting labour. It could be worse, Liam Byrne seems to be a decent guy.

This post tells us two things

Firstly, you don't understand the causes and impact of accelerated climate change.

Secondly that you're a little confused.

You say you wouldn't vote lib Dems, as they would "ignore the democratic vote". IE cancel brexit.

Then you go on to say. "So for me it’s about voting for the party that will do the best for us now and for the future in a realistic and logical way." IE cancelling brexit.

"

Actually in it’s simplistic for this is democracy in action

As the Lib Dem are going to the polls with commitment to “cancel brexit” you chose to vote for them or not ....

It’s not anti democratic to have an opposing opinion nor is it to change your mind when the real facts and impacts are better understood.

Being anti-democratic is stifling opposing views and preventing that voice being heard.... (Right wing media moguls)

There are plenty of people who are campaigning to reverse the law on hunting with dogs .... I don’t see them being labelled as being anti-democratic wanting to reverse a decision by an elected government.

I want to abolish the law that prevents MP’s wearing suits of armour in the House of Parliament... Does that make me an anti-democrat.
