Musk and Trump distancing?

Musk has posted

'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!

He went on to say:

Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out'.

Whilst Trump has posted

'The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”

I'd assumed that Musk had thought his Doge work done, once he'd gutted government departments that could have investigated or limited his contracts. Turns out Trump may do it.

You couldn't make these 2 up . Have they finished?

Did anyone not know this already? Or at least strongly suspect it.

To be fair (and I'm not a fan of him in any way at all) the parties were attended by a lot of the rich and powerful, political, business or media etc..

As to who knew what and did or didn't do what if anything who knows..

"Elons going “Kendrick” on trump right now….

Why are you loving it?"

Various reasons…

1) you knew this was coming eventually.. just didn’t have it as quick as 5 days leaving

2) they are going bar for bar on the threats.. the look on trump’s face when he finds out just how much his companies actually do will be glorious

3) musk’s implosion won’t save tesla… he burned the bridge with his democrat buyers, now he is doing it with the republican buyers he has left!

4) this is a selfish one….. every republican in the house is going to have to keep their heads on a swivel… he may not have a lot of influence but he has enough where a 5 seat majority now won’t be a 5 seat majority in the midterms

Give me another couple of minutes.. I can come up with a few more.. just in general red on red violence is funny, they do it way better than dem on dem!

Who is gonna collect the astronauts from the ISS if Space X don’t do it?

Do NASA have a viable spacecraft at the moment?

Don't think so, the Boeing one was deemed to not be safe so they left the two astronauts up there ..

That’s what I thought. Not really followed it of late. Didn’t the Russians have capability? But if they are Americans they might not want to bother.

No idea if they do but I think the astronauts are from many nations regardless and there has been Russian cosmonauts transported etc..

Trump loves the controversy and attention around him. It was sadly? Inevitable that they'd fall out - Trump doesn't have people around him that he doesn't fall out with, it's his style.

He probably likes it that Musk is now tarnished, whilst he's still the one in the limelight

Musk is a lot younger, smarter and richer than Trump. I wouldn't want him as an enemy.

I'd not want either. Musk's announcement is vague, so he's playing safe. Due to his wealth, he'll have no problem being challenged legally by anyone. I wonder whether he'll venture away from being vague about Trump.

They're both egotistical gits

Musk has gone full out of the frying pan into the fire.

He was always out of his depth on the political stage, too unpredictable and showed a lot of naivety.

In 4 years time I wont be surprised if Tesla has been sliced and diced, along with SpaceX and Star link.

I think he’s inadvertently made himself a ridiculously convenient scapegoat; it’s ironic really because he’s mostly disliked for the ham fisted right wing rhetoric that got him in with MAGA and they’re riding the coat tails of that unpopularity to pin a load of problems on him.

It’s not like Trump is above arbitrarily blaming the problems his government caused on whoever the current heel is on social media.

Funny though. Especially reframing Musks entire political career being the result of an especially vivid k-hole

the speed that they get to insult each other at is priceless .... in days gone by it would take days for a slanging match between celebs to develop.

but with both these clowns owning social media platforms the whole thing is played out in minutes.

MTV should should do a one-off celebrity death match special

I don’t think there is any precedent for a president removing a vice president, but happy to stand corrected. A set up and forced resignation is perhaps the only option open to Trump if that’s what he wanted to do.

But like Labour over here, Trump has got 4 years of doing pretty much whatever he wants, with or without Vance onboard.

Through time and history the one constant you can rely on is that populists will end up fighting and imploading.

This spat was inevitable from the outset of their partnership. Both will be damaged by it, the USA even more so.

Beware of populists

I agree that there is probably no straightforward way for him to take down Vance. But it would be funny to see the president and vice president with so many conflicts between each other

The Trump 'friend' Farage, is another one whose difficulty in retaining friendships seems evident. I guess they dislike sharing the limelight much, if at all.

Musk was going to be a fall guy for Trump, cutting so many jobs and services. I guess it's helped him, that Musk did the falling out.
