As per the events page:

BIG HANDSOME MEN - BEARS NIGHT Thu 19th March 2009

An event open to anyone who wants to attend but specifically for those who like larger men, an event where larger men can feel comfortable amongst thier peers and for those who like Bears and for very Hairy men or those Hairy men who would feel more comfortable amongst thier peers.

Venue: Chameleons Darlaston (See CLUBS page for website details, address, etc)

Date: Thursday 19th March 2009

Buffet: a free buffet will be supplied by the club

Accommodation: There are hotel rooms available at the club and other local establishments, contact the club direct to book or for alternative options locally

Single Males: Chameleons will allow Single Male guest members that night, there is normally around 6 months waiting list time for new single members, on this evening only, non-members will be allowed a guest membership for 1 night only at no charge (normally £56 per year), they will also reduce the Single male entry price to £20 for that evening only (normally £30) You will only be entitled to these concessions if you are on the Guest list, you have to mail me to go on the guest list.

Couples: Entry price reduced to £15 per couple (normally £18) membership payment not required (normally £6 for life membership so I recommend joining this night anyway and couples memberships are always available.

Single Females: Free entry (normally £5) membership as per couples

So, think your a bit large or hairy? want to meet people who like you because you are large or hairy or both? ever wondered where all the women are that like large or hairy men ?

TO ATTEND: MAIL ME to go on the guest list, not on the guest list, normal membership rules and prices WILL apply

This is not a Chameleons sponsored event, they are not responsible for organising it and nobody should contact them with regards to attendance, they do not control the list of who will be attending, they only control the hotel room bookings.

They are obviously aware that I am organising it on a personal nature and not as a member of staff and have kindly allowed the membership and entrance fee concessions.

Unfortunatley it is not possible for me to attend. I really need to either move to chameleons or find a personal chauffer. Having said that any males that want a female compain ( i live in rutland) then i would be happy to ablidge

Can't really take the credit for this but you can, it was the success of your BBW nights that gave me the idea, that and the comments in the forums, I just thought someone should do it and I am located close enough to the club to do it so why not.

Here's a thought, and I know Jed is playing Devil's Advocate.

There is no way on this planet that a bunch of chubsters can hope to pitch up at any time at any club any where on this planet and seriously think think that women are going to be waiting to play with them.

Its not hurting anyone or harming anyone and only the cost of the club.

Even if only a couple of guys went it might give them confidence to go again on just a regular night when they wouldnt have before.

Im sure bhm's (well i know they do) come in all shapes and sizes just like bbws.

Jed has obviously given this some thought, not sure why you would want to put a damper on a positive post

sorry but i actually do know woman that find big blokes attractive especially big hairy guys and i will be telling them of this event i think it is fabulous to see someone like jed who has many years experience within the scene and understands that it is routed in being all inclusive and non-judgemental just because BHM's don't float your boat doesn't mean they don't float anyones

i hope it is a roaring sucess and this is just the first of many

What can I say, I am not a BHM, I am the opposite, I am very skinny, I am not a hairy bear, I am the opposite 100% shaven, I don't get paid to organise this event.

So why am I doing it, because of many people I have spoken to have said it would be a good thing to have at the club.

Quite a few women who are on the larger size prefer larger men, perhaps its a sexual thing perhaps they feel more comfortable with them, who cares, they like them, that's what matters, quite a few women (some very cute slim ones) I have spoken to like larger men.

Hairy bears is the busiest night of the month at the gay sauna the Greenhouse, maybe there are women that find hairy men attractive, we are about to find out.

And yes perhaps it will give some of the larger or hairier guys the confidence to go to a club for the first time, and give them a chance to have some fun and see that they are not unusual in such places.

Me I would rather spend my evening with a lot of large and hairy men than with women who think they are better than others.

Jed,

Maybe if you re title it the BMW night, or Big Men and Women night it could be a real spinner. You would then be advertising to 2 very specific sets of, and as you said normally well suited people.

The only down side I can see, and again it's purely the cynic in me, is that the second you advertise any swinging event with a focus on women you will inevitably attract a lot of single guys who will not fit the party profile.

It sounds like a great idea but potentially a marketing and event management nightmare nightmare...do you stop non BHM's at the door.........makes sense but would a club like Chams risk it's regular client base in this manner?

We enjoy Chams on a Friday night or a Sunday afternoon and whilst there is a pretty even split between BBW's and non BBW's the ratio of BHM's to non BHM's is is heavily weighted in the favour of the slim fit guys. Our snapshot of this is that the bigger guys generally play second fiddle so it's no big surprise that not many turn up.

For every women on here who states she prefers to play with BHM's there will be more women that say they prefer the option of a romp with a gym fit young fella and she should not be judged for that decision.

A strictly BBW and BHM night would be a rip roaring success in the same manner that BBW nights are but anything else, in my opinion is going to be fraught with danger.

Absolutely agree with what you say above but, this is an event being organised by me, not by the club, though the club have agreed to the price/membership concessions IF enough men and women put thier name down to attend. Of course all members will be allowed in on the evening as normal but they will pay normal entry prices if they are not down on my list of guests.

Despite your fears which are based on a lot of common sense the response os sp far encouraging and a number of both men and women (couples and singles) have either put thier name down or shown interst, the event is to be advertised on 3 other swing sites too. Lists of those attending will be published as and when I have enough names to list.

To make it work at all there has to be a certain amount of people confirming attendance, so if your thinking about it, the sooner you make your minds up the better as I will cancel the event if there are not enough numbers to get us the discounts promised.

Sorry boys n girls I have had to cancel this event. whilst there has been a fair amount of interest there has not been enough people putting thier names down to warrant us asking Chameleons for the concessions on entry and prices that events are normally offered. I do not want to jeapordise other peoples events by giving Chameleons the idea that such things are not worthwhile, with extra staff/buffet costs etc.
