A few years ago my mother went into a nursing home and therefore vacated her property. In the following three months, despite us telling British Gas on numerous occasions that the property was empty and undergoing refurbishment they sent us over 40 pages of "estimated" bills and demanded payment for gas that was not even switched on. Never again will I use BG.

none really bother us tbh ... we use a website called "say no to 0870"

it gives you lists of direct dial numbers for most companies, if you ring one of the alternate numbers they give, more often than not, it rings directly to someones desk (no press 1 etc) and always in the u.k.

Got to agree British Gas, I have been having an issue with them for the last couple of months over the new warm homes scheme, every time I phone I get told they will call back later or the next day and they never do, last week I spoke to yet another customer service advisor and was told she would get the guy I had last spoken to to call me back, like F**K did he, next day I got a letter telling me, that I hadn't qualified for the scheme as I had not sent back the paperwork they required or had sent it in after the closing date, it was sent 2 weeks before by recorded delivery, now back on the phones trying to argue this point with them

Took me 5 years to get anything from my ex... everytime I rang they passed me from person to person for about 2 hours until I got stressed and hung up. I had to get my local MP on the case in the end. I'm still waiting on 5 years back payment, but I can't see that materialising!

The funniest tho is when they tell you their name is bob or graham or some other typically english name. I don't mind talking to someone with poor english, but I take the hump at being lied to by them!

My sister owned ten years. My ex tried and got no where and she worked for them. My sister asked me to try and told them I would be acting on her behalf. I got the name of the lady and phone three times a day for six months, she went off sick but the day before she gave me her line managers number. It took another six weeks of phoning them three times a day. He swore at me that I was a fucking cunt, so it went to his boss and she sorted it in four hour flat. If I phone now you should see what happens. I love sitting at a desk with a phone, if you want it enough it just becomes a battle of wills

royal mail sorting offices ...the fact they call themselves a sorting office is stretching it a a bit rich considering you have to take a day of work to stand there waiting for them to manually shift through a heap of mail find your parcel. Obviously there idea of sorting is differnt to mine ..at one i go to one that comes to counter looks like its his 2nd job his first being a bouncer to sort out anyone that dare complain.

"DHL otherwise known as drop it hide it loose it"

Or as I know then through drivers who work for the company, DHL stands for "Day and a Half Late!"

I used to have problems with British Gas especially when I left them to move to another utility provider. They continually bombarded me with calls, letters etc until I asked one day, "Is this call being recorded for training purposes etc?" and when told "Yes", I replied......

"Put the words in order.. life/get/a. I've left you; that is my choice and you can't alter that. If your company bothers me ever again with either calls or any written correspondence, I will contact my solicitors and sue you for Corporate Harassment!"

It worked a treat! I never heard from them again!

I've also tried that angle with other companies and it works!

In fairness to DHL, we trade with 5 or 6 courier business and none of them work on a bank holiday.

DHL is far more than a courier service too. The courier part is just 1 arm of a global logistics business.

In the U.K. if you buy anything from Next, Ikea, Brighthouse, Comet, Asda, Sainsbury's, B&Q, Boots and the like or have car parts from your Mercedes, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Land Rover or Jaguar then there is a very good chance that they will have been involved in it's distribution at some point.

I have never had an issue with Ryanair.

Then again, I do not have the same expectations of them as I do of legacy carriers such as BA.

As long as they get me wherever I am going and in one piece, I am happy.

I do prefer arriving late tho - as it saves that fkin bugle call they pipe thru the cabin if they are on time
