"I had coffee from a street fender in Bogotá, Columbia, and it looked weak and insipid. It absolutely knocked my socks of. Then I learned that the lighter the roast the higher the caffeine content, although I also suspect that there was something else in there as well. Coca leaves were openly available at the local market. " That's something a lot of people don't realise A darker roast may have more intense flavour, but it doesn't give you the caffeine hot you might think | |||

I personally prefer the range of flavours you'll find in a lighter roast that tend to get lost after a medium roast. | |||
