Out if the 5 couples that this has happened too, only 1 of them is happy and other 4 wish they could turn back the clock and say the cyber part was great but reality was nothing how they imagined it would be, doooh don't say.

Ow the plebs

"how has social network sites affected their relatonship?"

A lot of people have contacted past loves and thought it would be a good idea to try again...often when they're both already married/with partners x

Lol...that friends reunited thingy started a lot of it off when people got speaking to their 'high school sweetheart', and fb just helped it along. I'm sure it must work out for some, but in most cases I guess the original reason a couple broke up would rear it's ugly head again x

The land of grey peas and bacon

Facebook makes me lol most of the time. I guy I was seeing said to me come on lets make it offical and put that we are in a relationship I said nah give it a bit of time.... I hate when you go from single to in a relationship.. you get the congrats comments but then a couple months later it changes to single again.. then you get the oh I am sorry messages. I can't be dealing with that. I put on FB what I want people to know the rest I keep to myself.. However I have known a few couple whos relationships has ended because of facebook.. The adding of an old crush or the bitchy statues...

We live in a social media world now if it aint on facebook it aint really...

"If people are looking to cheat they dont need facebook."

No they don't need it, but it doesn't exactly hinder them either...think a lot of people have reconnected with people from their past that they may not have done if social networking sites weren't around. Then after viewing those past relationships with rose tinted glasses as they remember the good times from their youth they've tried to rekindle something that perhaps should have been left alone x

If people are prepared to cheat, there's something wrong with the marriage anyway.

It's easy to blame facebook for their inability to keep their cock/fanny in their pants!

lol....one of couples i knew the lady half decide to announce she was leaving for her first bf and going to start new...

Travelled from coast to stoke and found the lovely house was a rented flat, his high flying travelling career was actually sales rep on the road selling fastenings, the pics were a tad complimentry and the months of chatting had been full of bull shxxe

And wonders why hubby won't take her back and no one wants to hear.

So sad

Don't use it spend enough time when I am supposed to be working on here!

But if I did I would change my status daily to see how many I could catch out with the wrong message

Wasn't intending to blame facebook for cheats!! If someone wants to cheat then of course they'll find a way. Was just pointing out that social networking sites have made it so easy to connect with people from the past and people have rekindled old relationships x

It's not called the curse of FB for nothing! I know many relationships that have been screwed (in more ways than one) by FB

Yeah they have, but surely internet and mobiles have made it far easier to cheat... and to do this, so it's got its upside too

My Ex cheated on me after 12 years together, that was through a 'fan site' for a band he was into... so he found he had lots in common with this chick.

He would go gigs he knew she would be at.

They've been together 5 years now.

She still hasn't looked for a job and smokes 60 a day and he's now in loads of dept.

I would agree - the availability of facebook is not the cause but may be a trigger at best; the thought precipitates the action of meeting outside a relationship. Not judging here as there are many reasons why this happens but dont think we can "blame" facebook.

Next thing we would be blaming "twitter" for extramarital quickies...

Gosh no...just that the internet and mobiles have also made swinging a lot easier than it must have been before!
