ye, usually, but i imagine if you have recieved msgs asking this its because you dont say on your profile what your looking for/into! it just describes you! not the type of person your hoping to meet!

It would be on the face of it but in reality its not as many people are here for a variety of variations on a theme. Some women will meet only male, some only females and some couples. Some are looking for white guys, others black guys some tall some smooth and others hairy.

Saying all that it is not the most imaginative opening line and I can see why you would pass it over to the next chap.

Well I find the question a bit annoying and unnecessary to some extent. having said that while we are all possibly here 'for the same reason' its a bit like being in a sweet shop. One sweet shop but so many different varieties of things to enjoy.

Personally I am not looking for anything. I just bumble along the swing highway and see who finds me of interest and then see how any new fun works out.

I think to have a sort of 'expectation' about others is a little unfair and possibly rude? I just take people as they are and 'go with the flow'.

After all you may be so keen on finding that one expectation that you miss something equally as nice coming the other way...

i could be wrong, but i think the OP means as a conversation opener ie initial message

even when i have my profile up which says exactly what i am looking for, i still get asked - and usually in the 1st or 2nd message

if 2nd, the first is usually 'hi, how are you ?'

Not everyone here is just looking for sex,some are into bdsm and looking for a sub or dom not for the sex but for other reasons, some on here are looking for a potential partner/relationship so its not just about the sex

because you dont have on your profile what type of guy your looking for, what your into sexually or what you arent looking for! all you have on your prof is a descriptin of yourself! as stated earlier, some folks are looking for couples, or single fems or single guys! or being greedy and looking for all 3! lol. maybe put on your prof your likes/dislikes, what type of person your looking for/not looking for and maybe this will help!

the thing is its is not often an ice breaker it comes when you are talking to the person for a while. i am not going to write an essay as i dont really think it necessary. i dont often have a problem its when it does come up my compulsion to delete goes in overdrive.

my thing is i dont have a textbook of a person i like or dislike, i talk to them if we click happy days if not i move on. thats it if you are interested say hi we talk. i cant be bothered with going through a full page, i read for a living cant be bothered to be here reading someones autobiography for a shag as well in that case i am going to get shares in lovehoney

I think the OP is dead right with this...if you ready the profile you should be able to come up with something with which to say in an email to help get thing started...or ignored...but you have to at least try and put thought in to any contact....

I do love some of the standard questions...

Why do you expect anything different when your profile is so sparse?

Maybe the guys think they dont need to put much effort in? Although you will still get the odd "hi" in a message.

You have only been here two weeks which isnt long in the scheme of things really.

Not everyone is looking for the exact same things...

Your profile tells people nothing about what you are looking for or your sexual interests etc.....maybe that's why people are asking you.

What are you looking for?

Would you find that acceptable

But I do agree that it's probably not the best opening line to use for striking up interest & conversation.

i am forever asking what someone is looking for, simply because, when someone has clicked every option in the interests area, to go steaming in assume they are interested in soft play only, then come to play and find they want to ride everything around, makes a situation awkward and unworkable.

I notice a large number of profiles have every option available ticked. Ticking every option available as opposed to consideration and a genuine interest in each option is just silly, and it has put us off meeting some people who hadn't had the first clue when quizzed what certain options were about.
