hi peeps i was just wondering if it makes a difference if people you are thinking of meeting with own their own home or not?

I do not own my own home(im council)and get asked this question all the time and strangley enough they dont wanna know? why is this? are we not good enough or what?!

If someone has an issue about whether you own your home or not, would be avoided like the plague. This is supposed to be a swinging site, for fun, sex, completely devoid of any feelings etc. Why would someone even remotely be interested in my financial standing. Afraid people blur the edges and try to make this site into something it is not. Sounds like you had a lucky escape....

I can honesly say in all the years on swinging sites... I have never been asked that question.

Are you sure they are not trying to sell you a kitchen or double glazing?

I didn't think people would ask this, it seems a strange one to ask. Maybe they just meant do your have your own place as in have you moved out of the parents, do you live alone or have a flat mate kind of question.

I own my own home, but that wouldn't stop me meeting somebody who rents or has a council house, whatever.

I don't see why it matters personally.

I've.veen asked by folk I've met at my house stuff like "how long have you lived hete" ... But I dont think anyone's ever asked me.."do you own this place"

Oh and personally it makes no difference to me whether someone else has bought their place or rents.....as long as it's clean

I always thought it an odd question when asked very early on in a conversation... especially if we are both from the same city.

But then I noticed it was generally the people from the same city who asked.

I'm guessing it's to make sure they are not about to ask next door but one for a jump.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

I am a sometimes a bit wary about where people live because I once went to meet someone at his home, and when I got there the area was practically derelict, with gangs of lads hanging around and hardly any street lighting.

His flat may have been a show home inside but as a single female I had no intention of running the gauntlet to get to the door, or coming out and finding the wheels gone off my car....

Dont care whether someone rents or owns though

I've never been asked if I own my home and it's not something I would think about asking either.. I'm looking for playmates, not a mortgage partner, tenant or landlady!

I do ask roughly where abouts a potential meet lives if he is local. Purely on safty grounds. There are some very rough estates in Mk I wouldn't be happy visiting after dark on my own. That's just common sense.

Never been asked...and would meet anyone if they did ask.

The only thing that springs to mind is that people may be uncomfortable visiting very rough estates...is this perhaps being asked after you tell them the area of bradford you live in?

I went to a house on the edge of Derby once, well I say house, they were all bungalows with little gardens. Something felt odd. There were no gangs or anything like that… it just felt as though something was missing. I found the right number bungalow and pulled up… and that’s when I realised what was missing. Mine was the only car on the street… not another car to be seen on the road or in the gardens, not that any had driveways. Concerned now that I had pulled up in Grannyville, the guy can out to the gate… phewwwwwww, he actually did look like his photos. However next to the front door was a red cored pull switch.

The short remainder of my 20 minutes or so in his home was a mix between pyschoville, wrong turn and a bad comedy. I left before any sexual behaviour started.

Google Earth street view is a blessing.

We tend to ask it early on, we dont live in Hexham, but in a small village, and we do not play with people from the same village, there are at least 2 couples and one single man we have turned down or mututally agreed not to meet because in the initial messages we discovered they were to close for comfort.

Asking early saves time.

"Google Earth street view is a blessing."

It is the best thing ever for directionally challenged peopel like me. I've used it to suss out how far up roads houses are so I'm not walking backwards and forwards squinting at people's front door.

And if anyone wants to know, I am a homeowner and I still can't accommodate. Don't know why people would need to know someone's mortgage status. What next? Financial audits?

Some accommodation can be a big deal. One man I was talking to lived in a bedsit in a converted hotel, sharing a bathroom with people on the floor, mainly men. That was not acceptable to me.

Another worked for a university and lived in the halls of residence with two other men...didn't suit me either.
