The age limit is 18 that is clear, but so many people act in an immature way especially when rejected. Are some people really incapable of acting like adults and if not what should be done with them?

There are people in all walks of life who behave childishly. Temper tantrums, inability to hold a discussion without resorting to insult, sulky behaviour and inability to deal with any emotion but happiness. I've worked with plenty of 'em and it's not pretty.

They should get a time out on the naughty step or a spanking!

I get it some people get frustration but do people think if they get aggressive or abusive its gong to help them on here in any way more likley the opposite as people have friends and lets be honest talk both positively and negatively about other users so they gain noting as I see it.

Like children having a tantrum, just ignore it. They want any form of attention even if it’s negative, so if you bite you’ll play into them.

It’s the same in the online dating world. I was advised right at the start:

Only believe a fraction of what you see / read

Never take offence or indeed offend

Never take rejection personally

Develop a thick skin - quick

All good advice and relevant to Fab. Despite knowing this, sometimes you still get someone that will piss you off!

I would agree with that if you could stop it being misused for false reports I do think something needs to be done about aggregation though. The time wasting well people change their mind when they get to know someone so it may affect people feeling they have the right of choice.

There is one for reporting for not turning up but I think a lot of people only class that as a small part of time wasting. Besides as most use kik/watsapp etc to do final arrangements it must be near impossible for admin to ascertain if its a real or bogus report.

My personal opinion is that if a misdemeanour happens on kik or WhatsApp that is the platform it should be reported to. Otherwise it's like complaining to Sainsbury's that your Tesco delivery hasn't turned up.

The report button is useful for abuse etc.

A profile rating system would be good whereby you get to anonymously rate any profile out of 5. Can be changed at any time but only one rate per profile.

Would make people more eager to please others and more hesitant6to act as if they're beyond accountability.

People would naturally stay away from profiles with 1 or 2 stars and prefer engaging with 4 or 5 star profiles.

Quite happy to leave them to stew in their own juices. If they behave badly and deselect themselves it makes the good people shine by default. While it's really not nice to hear about it (and embarrassing if it's men) it also edges the cream slightly further to the top.

Personally speaking I’ve never taken offence to a polite rejection, it’s all subjective after all, just because I may find someone attractive it doesn’t mean that they have to find me attractive too, after all, we all have our own personal opinions on what or who we find attractive. I’d go so far as to say that I’d rather be told, thanks but no thanks, as opposed to my message being read and ignored, after all, I took the time to message, surely it’s polite to do the same? I know ladies get many more messages than us, I just like good manners.

"The age limit is 18 that is clear, but so many people act in an immature way especially when rejected. Are some people really incapable of acting like adults and if not what should be done with them?"

Don’t stoop - ignore. Some people are only on here for the attention.

Genuine people know how to take rejection, always remember that.

Unfortunately different norms exist here because good manners are exploited. If you don't get an answer, move on.

Limited emotional development

Inability to accept negative responses

Unable to process honesty

Interesting thread.

My take on this is that it’s merely a symptom of the increased use of computers and social media. Rejection is never an easy thing to deal with but in person sometimes it’s easier to handle, particularly if the person delivering message handles it sensitively. This whole Fab thing is totally impersonal and thus it’s easier for the rejected person to spout abuse from behind a keyboard as he/she can hide.
